Everyone's talkin about the 14's - the heavier your strings, the lower you can put your action, because the strings dont vibrate as far (this is all relative of course) Deep archtop bodies sounds so much better with heavier strings because they move more wood and add more sweet mid tones in my opinion. Light strings just sound weak and underpowered on these big guitars. I'm bumping my gauge back up this week!
The higher the gauge gives the best tone in my opinion, I play 13 - 56 on my Regent and its stiffer than my regular 10-46 but it sounds much fuller to my taste.
Very underated guitarist. Great sounding guitar too. If I was to sell my Martin I would probably go with the Broadway. I have a copy of something that looks very much like it but not as thick and it sounds great. That Broadway that Nick has sounds just as good as any Gibson costing three times as much.
the strings are really heavy, but if you notice he never really bends over a half step, jazz players often trade bending(which alot don't really do) for the tone and speed you get with fatter strings.
Y'all this is how one should play the guitar. I love the bottom end he is getting off of this Broadway. Normally, I'm a Gretsch man, but this could convince me to switch over to these Epi's. However, 14's on the strings? Wow, that's Heavy.
@Dionydejesus thats not to heavy, i also play 14 strings on a jazzguitar and on my rock guitars 10. it the neck is good adjusted, its not such a big difference!
This is bad ! He's one of the baddest ! Ranging from Chord work, Octaves, speed and above all... sweet to listen to ... Got the feeling !

See? Epis don't necessarily suck. You want an incredible value? Get a sheraton 2 and put heavy strings on it.
