i was at the dragongate show and it was very very good. the cima match was cut short because i think that brian kendrick got injured or something. the match was at least 8-10 minutes tops when kendrick left the ring he had a bit of a limp also i dont know if they showed this on the ppv but jimmy jacobs did a promo with the young bucks trying to get the bucks to join him. Prince Mustafa Ali was with jacobs, and i gotta say ali looked great.

I absolutely love Dragon Gate, ROH, and professional wrestling. Great matches are great, but you have to establish characters. If you don't establish characters then the show will undoubtedly fail. It has nothing to do with WWE or anything like that. Wrestling needs solid story lines and characters to attract attention. While I have no doubt I'll love the matches, the show will struggle if it's all fluff. That's what happened to ROH, it's story lines and character got dull. Thus, Chikara > ROH.

Raw is an example of an extreme, replacing wrestling with stories. But "wrestling for 2 hours" is the other extreme, and that ain't good either. Wrestling always worked because the story sold you on the wrestling. you dont need to talk for 2 hours to have a storyline roh always proved that. But you do need atleast one thing viewers will be drawn to besides just the wrestling. Wrestling for no reason only can go so far. one doesn't work without the other.

ROH has had storyline in it as well & the quality never suffered, in fact it improved it ten-fold because it gave you a reason to keep coming back after the 1st year of it just being about the wrestling.

Dragon Gate is a Japanese Independent which is quite popular here in the states. Earlier this year they hired Gabe Sapolsky, former ROH Booker, to book shows here in the states under the banned "Dragon Gate: USA."

I think if KENTA hadnt botched the Inverted GTS and ROH didnt use a shitty camera angle to cover it up at the end of the match it would be considered 5 stars.
