We will be known for our love for one another. Not our love for doctrine or the right belief but our love for one another. What is the greatest commandment?
1 John 2:2- He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
1 Timothy 4:10- This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.
I was recently fired as youth and teaching pastor for my belief that Hell is not eternal torment. I wrote a book about my beliefs and what the Scriptures actually teach on the subject. It's coming out soon, you can check out my blog to follow along. I'd love to get the message out to as many people as possible. The book is called "What the Hell" How Did We Get It So Wrong? whatthehellbook . com
Mat 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Also :
Mathew 7:22-23...On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'
@daleyboy77 It would be a full time project to bring you up to speed on my ideas, sry I don't really feel like having a debate on youtube here. Just keep reading books and God's word.
@daleyboy77 of course, I was brought up in an conservative evangelical church. When Love Wins first dropped, I was like "no way, this is a bunch of crap" ...pretty much been reading about hell and jesus' teachings all summer non stop.
@LIGHTRONIX .....Being brought up in a conservative evangelical church does not mean that you have the truth or your sins forgiven................Are you born again ??...That is the most important question you will ever be asked my friend !!
Awesome response, Rob! Being conversant for the advancing of the Kingdom...yes. Malicious tags that are divisive...no. The latter is extremely Pharisaic! Let's gather together on what matters most, shall we?
Notice how his version of the Gospel of "The Christ" is centered arround us being "united" and becoming his "hands and feet in the world". What about the Gospel of salvation? This life is not the emphasis of the Gospel, it's eternity, and forgiveness from God through his salvific work at Calvary. The external manifestation of this reality in this world will prove that we are his hands and feet, but it must start from within, and this can only be done by the Holy Spirit.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." John 3:18-20. START READING THE BIBLE!! It's crystal clear.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16-17
Rob Bell you cannot be the hands and feet of Jesus unless you first come to accept Him as your Lord. God extended the greatest act of His love by sending Jesus to the earth to become sin so that us sinners could be made righteous, who knew no righteousness. YOU ONLY GET IT IF YOU BELIEVE!!! Just cuz He came doesn't mean you are automatically in, you have to believe and accept Him in your life as Lord! Why don't you check out John 3:16-20?? Based on that you're teachings are unscriptural.
@446165 ::: What is your reference for the earthquake? Acts says nothing about him hanging. It just says he blew up. Neither reference says anything about an earthquake, Could be he put the rope around his neck and jumped over a cliff, or we can re-write the bible a number of different ways. What happened to the 30 pieces? Can we re-write the bible to cover this discrepancy too?
Sounds like that Snake?, in the Garden of Eden, "God says you will surely die? God really says you will die?" and Today: "Is there really a Hell? Hell, forever?" The Truth is with the Magnitude 9 earthquake in Japan, Past Quakes in China, New zealand, Sumatura, Phukit, Chili, killing millions, turmoil in the mid east, death around the globe, Satan knows time is short, is desperate, so here it is, his version of "Love" in sync with M. Jacksons "Heal the World" , while denying God's Word.
Rob Bell only picks the few scriptures and twists them, wrongly interprets the Bible, and outward lies. If you do honest research, like others, you will realize Rob Bell is a false teacher...
@Silverbullet89 :::Exodus 21:20-21 " And if a man smite his servant...if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money." No contradictions? Ehrman wrote a whole book about contradictions in the bible, he calls it "Jesus, Interrupted". If what you say was true, it would be 300 blank pages. You have admitted that God is full of hate and wrath towards our sinful lifestyles. Truly , there are parts of the bible that are 'just ridiculous'.
@Silverbullet89 ::: What is false and contradictory is the bible itself. A book that has been responsible for multiple denominations and theological arguments. A book that describes God as you would describe a spoiled child, full of hate, jealousy and wrath. A book that says a loving God will sent some of His children to an eternal torture chamber.. A book that creates hatred towards gays and lesbians, but says whipping your slaves is OK. It is not worthy of faith as if God wrote it.
@k0smon The Bible is not responsible for division - satan is. The enemy is. Our own wicked deceitful hearts are. False teachers are responsible, false prophets - the Bible is what's normal, everything going on in the world is explained so clearly for those that have eyes to see. And you right here mis-quoting and mis-representing the Bible. The Bible is not like any other book in the world period. It also states un-believers cannot discern what the good book says either. Think about that.
@TechLinkOnline "The bible is not responsible" Good statement. Man bad, bible good. Only special people can understand it. You have to match the bible's wackyness to understand it. Why are there so many denominations, theological arguments, and divisions within the church? THE BIBLE!!! Such a book we can do without. It needs to be rightly divided; perhaps a stick of dynamite will do.
@k0smon Right, man = bad, men who reject the truth are why we have divisions and denominations. Church's aren't THE CHURCH though, follow? All those who are born again - Jesus said "ye must be born again" all true believers are the church. There are people that may well attend Bible based, truth telling church's that might not be born again. But look, Jesus told Pilate "Everyone on the side of truth listens to me" John 18
@TechLinkOnline ::: You use the word "truth" like you really know what it is. The bible says it is truth, therefore it must be so. I wrote a book once and said I was the king of Siam. It must be so, because the book said so. To find truth is a never ending quest.. You search for enlightenment, you find it, then you search for more. There is no stone tablet that you will find that defies "truth" Every denomination thinks their beliefs are "truth". See the story of Carlton Pearson' search.
Look at Judas Iscariot, this guy walked with Jesus, learned from Jesus personally, saw countless miracles performed by Jesus and what happened? Tragic story. Makes all of Greek tragedy look like child's play.
@TechLinkOnline ::: What exactly happened to Judas? In Matt he gave back the money and hanged himself, in Acts he bought a plot of land and then went "splat". Which story is correct? Another example of the bible's inconsistency.
@Silverbullet89 ::: Good question : Why be a Christian? Jesus wasn't.. If Carlton Pearson's gospel of inclusion is correct, then the religion is moot. That is why he became a new thought minister. Learning how to live, here and in the hereafter, is our highest goal. Joel Osteen has the right approach. Away from dogma and theological arguments!! The American Indian had the subject right : the Great Spirit. The Creator is all powerful, and needs no savors to help him manage His own creation.
Rob Bell is our brother in Christ. If you think he's that jacked up then pray for his recovery instead of bashing him on social media. Love thy neighbor.
@dickster7000 The most loving thing a christian can do for Rob Bell or one of his followers is let them know what the Bible says about the heresies that he teaches. Rob Bell doesnt understand the gospel, neither does he preach it. Though its tragic to admit, for the sake of the Gospel and for the true church and for Rob Bells own sake, we must admit that he is not a Christian but rather a false teacher. And then we must pray that he gets saved.
I appreciate what you have shared. You stated things very well. We search the Word and attend to the Spirit within The Word. There are those who have eyes that don't "see" and ears that don't "hear".
the birth of jesus was highly anticipated for years, yet those religious experts missed it. he then walked among them, yet they missed him again. too wrapped up in church rituals and doctrine. jesus came to establish a spiritual kingdom, yet we all are, once again, experts in doctrine and truth. i find rob's approach refreshing. i hope we don't miss him again, while defending our beliefs. jousting over right and wrong. from what I've heard, rob preaches jesus
WHat an idiot!!! For one who questions the authority of the scriptures proves that fact that he doesn't know the One who wrote it. Don't be decieved by Rob Bell and his rantings.
Rob Bell is a heretic. He teaches that there is no eternal punishment, even though the Bible clearly teaches eternal punishment for the unrepentant(Matthew 25:41). God is love, but He is also holy and just. God doesn't owe anyone salvation because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but He graciously offers salvation to all who will repent and put their faith in Jesus. Those who reject Jesus will spend eternity separated from God in Hell.
The Word of God must, as Bell says very well in this interview, be reappropriated in every new generation and place, and this is the Church's (big C) duty and task: to read the Bible and understand what God may be saying to them specifically, here and now. When you see revivals, it is a particular theme, book or thread from the Bible, this vast, wonderful library of texts, that is the trigger.God inspires by leading us, and we must then be responsible&practice it in our context&see God at work!
@kirksterkirk You're the one dividing everything, not him. What is Church to you? Is it a denomination? Or is it learning about God? I think you need to re-examine your priorities, because people like you are the ones calling the kettle black.
@MayakuCreep Calling the kettle black? How? The truth is clear in the Word of God and God didn't stutter, Rob Bell is undermining the Word of God, if you want to learn about God, read your Bible, it clearly states in many places what God is. Church is a place to gather and learn from the Word of God, helping us to live Christ's will in this earth, the meaning can't change because the meaning is stated in the Word as well.
@Bravehearted1000 What are you talking about? It's obvious the meaning can change. That's EXACTLY what denominations are. It's all about interpretation when reading or listening is involved in the equation. If you know Hebrew, you can decipher it's original meaning, and even then, it's STILL considered interpretation. When you take context out of the equation, it's hard to understand what a word means. The word, "read": past tense or present tense? Rob Bell isn't undermining anything..
@MayakuCreep Last time I checked, God didn't change, so how does His meaning change? It's how it is, most of the Word is pretty straight forward, there is easily one meaning, Rob Bell does talk about a brickianity being placed around the Gospel, which is a good thing, I'm pretty sure God says that He is our rock, so our rock stretches? The Gospel is living and vibrant, but so is God, neither of them have changed, so, how does the meaning change?
@Bravehearted1000 I didn't say anything about God, nor did I say he changes. I did say His word has been changed(translated and retranslated) many different times since it's inception. Do you think that God spoke to the english writers/translators with exactly what he wanted them to write, like he did the Hebrew/Jewish writers?
@MayakuCreep No, but according to many studies, the Bible is actually very accurate to its original languages, but, if you take the different copies, they all come up with the same thing, just different words. Just because the words changed, doesn't change the meaning either. The meaning didn't change, it's obvious or this debate wouldn't be happening right now, not to mention that Rob Bell has been caught using the Bible incorrectly on several of occasions, with Greek and Hebrew translations.
I'll tell you what mostly disturbs me about Rob Bell, and it has much less to do with Bell Himself than it does to do with many of those (not all) that are excited by him. My problem is that so many Christians are always looking for "rock stars" within the church. And I don't care if that means Billy Graham, Rob or some other dynamic Christian preacher or teacher. People are often so focused on exciting personalities that they don't carefully scrutinize what they're saying - which is scary!
Who has claimed to be the "owner" or ultimate teacher? What is this "main" teaching that Rob Bell teaches? I would like to know what this "teaching" is that people have missed hundreds of years.
No, we can't just share communion. Communion is for the believer when the believer's heart is right. It isn't and endless hard question. It is a simple question posed by Jesus, What do you think of the Christ? And the answer is not a lengthy diatribe. Either you believe Jesus is God in flesh and receive his gift of salvation bought by his death on the cross or you don't. There is no middle ground. Yes, either you are in, or you're out. You're either saved, or lost.
...Premier radio's breakfast interview with the author of The Shack a while back was a case in point. The two interviewers either don't know their bible's very well, or they are not actually Christians in the true biblical sense, or they simply felt too intimidated to challenge Young regarding his heretical ideas as expressed in The Shack. Premier should be ashamed to call itself 'Christian'.
I'm a UK Christian, but the reason I would never give money to or support the UK's Premier Radio/TV is that they are trying to cater for everything and anything that calls itself 'Christian'. There's matters we can agree to disagree about, but gospel essentials are non-negotiable, and the fact they carry some gospel faithful material doesn't excuse giving airtime to all the heretical rubbish they broadcast.Rob Bell preaches heresy: humanism/19thC liberalism/mysticism, disguised as Christianity.
Just don't show up there as a gay person .. .at last an open and honest gay person. This is Fundamentalism in a "groovy" new set of clothes and neck pendants.
@The1Indignitary The King James Bible is not the original King James. People can preach from the NIV and be used by God because the NIV is also the Word of God. The problem with the KJV, just like any English translation is that you still have to study the Greek and Hebrew to understand really what is being said. I am not saying the KJV and NIV is not the Word of God, no!. What I am saying is that you think the KJV is "The Word o God" is false.
Many of Rob Bell's teaching contradict the teachings of Jesus, especially in the areas of sin, hell, salvation, etc... Don't take my word for it, study the bible for yourself and compare it to what Rob Bell teaches. You will find that he does not accept the more difficult parts of the teachings of Jesus.
@CanucksLuo If you visit my site, aletheia dot org dot uk (there's a link from my YouTube channel page), there's a link on my site bottom left to a review of Bell's book 'Velvet Elvis', by Dale Van Dyke. That would be a good place to start if you want detailed analysis of Rob Bell's views weighed against the Bible. Hope that helps.
@muteduckie There is no hatred here, it's in fact love, the thing is that our love for God and His word are being undermined by Rob Bell. Your faith as a Christian is tainted by the false teachings of Rob Bell and many Christians undeerstand that Rob Bell either needs to shape up and hold to the Word of God or he should leave because he isn't a true believer if the Word of God isn't the centre for his teachings.
He ignores (as do most Christians) that Jesus was clear that his purpose was to help the Jews (Israel) in contrast to the dogs (Gentiles). He only reluctantly cured the daughter of the Gentile woman. On the other hand, the religion of Paul was for everyone because most Jews didn't buy the absurd message!
I'm incredibly interested in knowing what exactly about Rob Bell's teachings is so wrong. In light of what I've heard and read from him, I finally feel like I can understand the Gospels. How could we assume that we are both lowly, unworthy humans in need of a Savior BUT we are perfectly capable of interpreting Scripture, and any other shared adaptive personal insight is heresy? Rob Bell has played a large role in bringing me back to the faith and appreciating and loving Christ. Don't get this...
@milkisforbabies02 Myself, I would encourage you to pray to God and ask God to teach you the truth from the scriptures or whether this gentleman is teaching what God would have you to learn. Many have really good foundations in what the scriptures teach to see the errors from Rob Bell. It has been my experiance God has to teach you the truth and sometimes no matter what insight, view, or understanding on this iussues,it is the Spirit of God through the scriptures as how we find truth in the bible
@daveme7 Well said Dave. Rob Bell's teachings are false and people will see that if they just submit to the Holy Spirit and are led through the scriptures on a daily basis.
@milkisforbabies02 Basically he has challenged the simplistic theology of the so-called Fundamentalists and Evengelicalists. Rob Bell likes to answer tough questions with more questions (Jesus did that) and find a Biblical teaching or message in unlikely places. He is very clear about salvation by grace and the meaning of Jesus death, but avoids the "easy" answers so common in the American church. That´s why he is usually under fire, for not being a fire and brimstone preacher. I like him too!
@jazzbummer The problem with many evangelicals (specially traditional Americans) is that they think themselves to be the ULTIMATE truth. No further questions allowed. This is discouraging, specially to someone with a an intellectual background like me. Rob Bell, not only helped me to answer some questions, but also encouraged me to read the Bible and continue searching. It is a LIVING Word, not a "brick" document, like some pastors (f.e John MacArthur) pretend it to be.
@jazzbummer Rob Bell teaches the Bible as a "Living Word" not a a lifeless document. He does not pretend to be the "owner" of the truth or the ultimate teacher. He encourages people to SEARCH the Bible and look at the Spirit that inspired it. Many traditional Evangelicals get lost in words and MISS the main teaching. Rob Bell may not be perfect, but he is humble, sincere and OBEDIENT. That IS Godly.
@flugjung So you are honestly going to argue that Rob Bell, ROB BELL, treats the Word of God the way it should be treated and John MacArthur, one of the greatest Bible expositors of the last century, does not? Wow, just wow.
@swingman24 MacArthur has made the Bible an idol. He is a worshiper of the written word and not HIM. The first chapter of the Gospel of John is very clear Who IS the Word, and is a Living Word. Rob Bell may not be perfect but he is honest and humble, something Biblical.
@flugjung What? Wow, simply stunning. Another postmodern emerging church follower proving just how totally confused they are about what it means to be a christian. The Bible IS the Word of God. It IS truth. Everything we know about God comes from this God-breathed document. Without it we are lost. We can't just go off of our experiences or emotions.
@flugjung Your logic is flawed. You have no qualifications to present an opinion on this topic because you BEGAN with Rob Bell. For those of us who began our religious journey BEFORE Rob Bell's movement, he is a false prophet and we know because we weren't introduced to the Bible through some crooked radical, but rather the TRUE way. His teachings go against such a huge fundamental aspect of Christianity that they can't possibly be correct.
@krackhed999 Learning the bible the "true" way? There is no "true" way to learn it. However you will learn, you will always be wrong. It's impossible to bridge the gap between interpretation and understanding. Especially when the bible has been translated so many times and by so many different people.
@MayakuCreep Sorry, I should have rephrased it. That wasn't how it was intended to be taken. What I meant was that if you entered Christianity with Rob Bell as your medium(not the cult type of medium, mind you), your opinion on the matter is automatically biased. Whereas someone who has been taught through conventional means and with the traditional comprehension of the Bible knows he is straying from the path.
@krackhed999 Bias can be controlled, although. Yes, one may have a natural bias if they would be a Mars Hill attendee. But it's what one does with the bias that matters. I may take a stance, but I personally try to be bias-free. I am not Christian, nor am I religious, so I take Rob Bell's "NOOMA" with a grain of salt, as you do, as well.
@MayakuCreep I do agree that many biases can be controlled, however there are some subconscious biases that can only be fixed by training your mind to ignore them. This can, however, be rather difficult as many will inadvertently present subconscious biases in things they say, and never realize it. I suppose you have to change your mentality and live with that new mentality for a while to get around a bias such as these.
@MayakuCreep Also, I'd like to point out that it's nice to see an atheist responding maturely about this topic, as over the years I have watched many of them flat-out attack the Christian society in response to mere opinions. I suppose I may be slightly biased against them myself, but I will always acknowledge maturity in any person when I see it.
@krackhed999 A lot of people on both sides of the spectrum act like that. It's sad that people can't debate without pointing fingers and being close-minded to other's opinions. I respect your ability to converse well without doing any of the a-before-mentioned. And I'm agnostic. :)
@MayakuCreep Ahaha, my apologies! I jumped to conclusions too quickly. And yes, I agree, it's very sad. I have given up on attempting to discuss it with many people in the past because of this. Unfortunately, it's unavoidable because there really are no arguments for or against many aspects of religion or non-religion in terms of factual presentation. There is no hard evidence that will satisfy the naysayers. But I will always stick with what I believe to be true. The Bible is my evidence.
@MayakuCreep Now, I'm not saying that all of Bell's teachings are false. My sister has watched some of his videos and I trust her word that he does teach some good things. However, this notion in particular that there is postmortem reconciliation is false and deviates entirely from everything that has been taught and learned over the years.
If it were true, how is it that over the past 2011 years we have somehow missed this supposed aspect of the Bible?
@MayakuCreep Sorry if I'm giving you a wall of text but something pushes me to continue.
If his idea that you can be saved after death is true, what of the sacrifice Jesus made for humankind? Was that for nothing? Why would there even BE a hell if it was to be empty anyway? These are the kinds of questions Bell should be answering in these interviews. He should even bring them up himself. Check out the Rob Bell Exposed video in the suggestions. THAT man knows the truth. And he proves it.
@flugjung Questions aren't always good. Jesus only asked questions because he wanted the answers (which he ALWAYS knew) to be realized. This man has the overwhelming opportunity to make mistakes in the fashion that he goes about Christianity.
@IIIFrenchyIII ¿Why? I found Jesus by asking questions, lots of them. The problem are not the questions themselves but the honesty used to the ask them. It is not the question, but the answer you pretend to get. Jesus was really CLEAR with the Pharisees about their questions.
@flugjung Jesus answered complex questions with questions (i.e. ones that had no right answers such as 'should we pay taxes?' answer 'Yes' you're in trouble with the Jews. Answer 'No' you're in trouble with the Romans. These were designed as traps for Jesus). Rob Bell answers straight forward questions with questions or skirts the issues. He actually undermines Jesus' death, as in his new book 'Love Wins' where he has made the Cross of Jesus irrelevant. Evangelical doctrine still stands firm.
Frankly, if he can't answer the easy questions (usually the ones that matter the MOST, considering the complex questions don't typically have definite answers), it would indicate that there's something wrong with this. If you can't see that, then I suppose you're no better than he is.
@flugjung Jesus asked questions to teach a specific lesson and to reveal the hidden motives of people's hearts. Jesus verified that ALL of the law was the Word of God--and He taught that Word in the synagogues; "And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes." Mt. 7:28. Jesus didn't just use stories and questions.
Paul taught the WHOLE counsel of God's Word: Acts 20:27
Answer tough questions? really. Hmmm I guess you are right. Do you know who ask this question: "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?"
you know what happened with that question.
It seems like a very innocent but 'intelligent' question too.
@sw0rd0fadvers1ty Not sure he is. His idea of God is a God that won't send anyone to hell no matter what, and a God that will save everyone no matter what. I don't know, I think his Jesus is not very well presented and his Gospel presentation is not clear enough
Rob Bell you twist the Word of God to your fiancial advantage Woe to you! The primary Message , the Gist of the Bible is that God wants you with Him in Heaven eternally through his Beloved Son and that we don't need to do anything except accept Jesus and confess Him as Lord God you blasphemous deciever Woe to you! It is a free gift you don't have to do anything even if you are still a sinner Yeshua died for your sins he didn't say ah ok my blood will cover your sins till you're 38 ?
answered like a true politician has a way with words doesnt he and they are arrogant and pretentious to believe that they are right because they dont know the truth which is the Lord!
And someone throw some scripture on this heresy conviction. You throw that word around like you know it, but half of you have never watched, read, or listened to Rob Bell without having the intent of slandering the man.
What's sad is how most of you would prefer to study your bible on how well you can diminish a false prophet. Rob Bell is not and never will be a false prophet. His theology is sound if you weren't so legalistic. Read and understand the scripture rather than read it for exactly how it is. Understanding is cultural. Many of you obviously haven't read the gospels truly because Id you has you'd know that Jesus states to love your neighbor and your enemy. I see a lot of hate. In his numerous videos
Can anyone explain what the big deal with Rob Bell is? every comment i see is other love or absolute hate for what hes doing. I'm so confused lol. I'm in a C&MA church and we watched one of his videos before and he seems to be a very good speaker.
@gilbert4321 The Devil also speaks well my friend. I am researching this pastor and always seem to come to the conclusion that he is unBiblical even if only slightly. The fact that people Love or hate his preaching should give us pause but could be just about how good his deception is. We should be united and of one will and that is Jesus will not noomo or mar hill's way. Hope that helps because I am almost just as confused.
Brothers and Sisters, Shouldn't we follow The Example of our Lord and back up our claims by quoting "What is Written"? I invite critics to provide these alleged unscriptural claims against actual Scripture, to demonstrate what heresy this man has committed. For the sake of our edification and unity.
@foreveralive It's crazy to me how you believe your interpertation of scripture is exactly correct.. when someone else has a different perspective than yours the're a "heritic looking for a new Gospel to sell."
I think you really should ask the question of who God is.. Because it isn't you, so what makes your viewpoint all true and all knowing?
Rob Bell is a man. Everything he thinks and says isn't all true. He isn't God. Neither am I, neither are you. Does this make us allheritics?
@mxpxer So you are saying there are no absolutes? God did not reveal truth through Christ? We know what is truth by what the Word of God teaches. Paul and John and Peter were men but by what you are saying what they all said was not true?
Did I ever deny absolute truth? No. I didn't. I simply said that as humans it is important we understand that we are not God. We may have perspectives on scripture that others don't agree with, does that make either of us a heretic? Please don't jump to conclusions about what I am saying. I am a human. I love the Lord. So do you (I assume). Are you saying that we will agree on everything because we love the Lord? Of course not. That would be a stupid thing to say.
@jazzbummer The quicker we put differences aside and learn to break bread together the quicker and better this resurrection rescue will kick off. There are people going hungry tonight. Others going to hell tonight, and we're talking about this video.. I'm calling myself out as well. How bout we stop criticizing leaders and join the efforts..
@mxpxer That sounds like what everyone else is saying (Atheist, Hindus, Muslims, Mormons, etc) Paul I am sure walked by many hungry people during his time and I am sure helped as many as he could but he also rebuked those who were teaching false doctrine and teaching those who were confused (I think of the Corinth church especially) so although I agree with you on that issue unless we have sound doctrine/theology, what comes out our mouth will lead others the wrong way.
@jazzbummer From a human perspective there are no absolutes (w/the exception of death/taxes). This revelation thof truth you speak of is based on faith, faith is defined as hope. It is like waking up in the morning and saying I hope it doesn't rain today, you never know for sure. This is why I am agnostic. Even Atheist fall in the same category as the religious, they believe in absolutes (there is no god) which is no different.
@jazzbummer here you go w/accusations. ", they believe in absolutes (there is no god) which is no dif...", I was quoting the atheists regarding their claim of "there is no god" as being an absolute. You are obviously Christian, jumping quick to judge, seems to be a universal trait.
@mxpxer How do you know a wall is straight when you are building it? You hang a plumb-line down and it tells you if the wall is true or crooked. How do you tell if someone is preaching the Gospel of Christ or another gospel? You hang the plumb-line of scripture against it and it tells you whether it is true or crooked. That is not a man-,ade idea. That is what God tells us to do in the Bible. Rob Bell's theology is so crooked, that it is not man who calls him a heretic, it is God.
@mxpxer you are a fool. When God gave us His Word, He didnt intend for us to have our own opinions. He intended for us to understand the things He said, not misinterpret it and come up with something you want it to say. If I say "I don't like mashed potatoes," You understand exactly what I mean because you are familiar with my phraseology, you understand each of these words, and so the concept is clear, and if someone tries to draw silly conclusions you could refute that. Scripture is the same.
@clarenceboistenshire it impresses me how you'll walk into your church this Sunday with an erection feeling so proud that you spread the Word & clarity about Scripture starting EVERY argument calling other people fools. But I guess that's "truth", huh? So again, confirm my suspicion: should I tell this christian couple that just had a miscarriage that their baby went straight to hell bc the baby never heard of Jesus? What about your relatives? Who of your relatives is in hell? I'd love to know
@SoyChapin Why would you tell that to any couple? Children are likely spared, they haven't been developed enough to make a decision. David was sure that he would see his dead child that he had with Uriah's wife in heaven. 2 Samuel 12
“Shall not the judge of all the earth deal justly?” Abraham, (Genesis 18:25)
Those are all empty platitudes. Mr. Bell knows the truth and has obviously rejected it. He's an evil heretic willingly leading others to an eternity without God. He's a viper, not a Godly man. Let the dead bury and mourn the dead--such as yourself. Mr. Bell is to be publicly upbraided for his evil, not molly coddled. I share my witness with those that can be reached and are willing to receive the Gospel. Will you waste your time with Mr. Bell, or will you preach to those who need the Gospel?
Man I wish we could all just be chill about what we believe and not freak out about what others believe. God bless freedom in believing, but cursing each other over meaningless squabbles over ideas, man that makes me sad. I wish we didn't do that.
@dieghshars meaningless squabbles? How is it meaningless? You aren't following Christ if you don't follow the Word, He states the way Christians act and He states that if you believe it, you have His in favour in Heaven, it's not meaningless squabbles. Loving Christians know this, please brother, find your Lord and let Him move you through this world.
Mr. Bell doesn'tlike "labels"? Wait,...Bwahahahahahaha!!! Mr. Bell wouldn't have liked meeting the Son of God face to face then. Bwahahaha. Has Mr. Bell ever actually read the Word of God?
@foreveralive Is something funny? If you were truly concerned with false teaching leading others astray and with where Rob Bell is at, you would be criticising him with tears, not mockery. Have you prayed for him and for those listening to him? There is so often no compassion or real Christian concern in the tone and words of those who make a habit of branding others as heretics. It's so often flesh-driven slander and self-righteous sniping and has nothing to do with the Spirit of God.
Hey so like both of you all stop fighting over pointless things. The point is Jesus talks both about heaven and hell because He can't persuade someone by talking about hell or heaven because they must be born again in order to see the kingdom of God. THIS NEW BIRTH IS FROM ABOVE FROM THE SPIRIT OF GOD. ANYONE BORN AGAIN SEES JESUS AS EVERYTHING AND SERVES HIM SIMPLY BECAUSE HE IS WORTHY. Stop fighting over dumb issues and start preaching the true gospel. Hell is mentioned a lot (side note)
I agree with Rob. Church should not be about the weighing of sins. Sins are equally based and everyone in the house of God falls short of his grace somehow. So church should be about reverencing Christ and uplifting each other. If there is any place on earth that should feel like a safe place it is the church. I don't like when "Christians" act as if some sins are horrific and then show passivity to others. We're all sinners - get over it and let's praise!
Like Bell said unite in Christ. Practicing apologetics doesnt bring people to Christ. Fellow brpothers and sisters go and make fishers of men not lawyers.
God is revealing to His church that what He seeks is this: that it may be one as He and the Father are one; that it puts down all the "labels" and look to Him. Have we lost the essence of what being the church of Christ is about?
@noemiekpn that it puts down all the "labels" and look to Him
where in the Bible is this revelation from God found? Im not saying i agree with labels per say but we need to correct doctrine, and we need to stand firm about what sin is and why it is destructive.
I'm sure we both seek the same thing: to please the heart of God. In John 17.11, 22, 23 Jesus prays to the Father that we may be one as they are one, and that we may be brought to complete unity. I just think that sometime labels can separate us. I totally agree with you that we have to correct doctrine. But I also agree with Rob Bell about looking at Jesus first and knowing that we, who have been trying to live according to His word, are His church (:
@noemiekpn I agree we have to live according to his word but unfortunately appears to not truly believe that......... Rob has never once condemned homosexuality, he does not believe in a literal hell, he also has said that the Bible is mystery that we cannot truly understand and that Christianity has to remodeled for this time, culture, and people. All of these things fly in the face of scripture and stem from the fact that Rob does not believe in the supreme authority of the Scriptures
@trackguy2 Hey again... Well, I didn't know that. That's lame since I've been so much blessed by some of his videos I checked out here in youtube. I guess the best thing to do is try to filter the good and true things he's had the revelation. Thanks for letting me know anyway; we do have to be aware! God bless!
@onthewaytothecrapper 1) i dont even know who those names are, 2) i am taking these things out of a variety of sources such as his sermons, his nooma tapes, his interviews, and velvet elvis the book. My sister owns all the noomas and the book which is how i can get this information. If i wanted to follow something blindly then id follow Rob, but rather i choose to test everything against the Bible like every Christian should
@onthewaytothecrapper Rob has never admitted to a literal hell, and whenever he asks he either dodges the question or alludes to the fact that he doesn't believe in it. Basically, show me where Rob has said that there is a literal hell and i will gladly take back my statement because i've never seen him say that ever.
@onthewaytothecrapper Its a pretty massive thing when a pastor doesn't recognize the existence of hell. Jesus himself talked more about hell then he did heaven.. Your obviously very upset for some reason but im not trying to be overly-critical here. Rob has been asked flat out if he believes in a literal hell or not and he completely avoided the question without a definitive answer, he is clearly trying to please people rather than teach sound doctrine
and as far as hell Jesus spoke of hell only about 6 to 8 times, the entire KJV only mentions hell around 55 times, heaven appears over 500 times! so how did Jesus more on hell? the kingdom of heaven is like... not the kingdom of hell is like...
get your facts straight before you just drink the kool-aid.
""Heaven is full of forgiven people. Hell is full of forgiven people. Heaven is full of people God loves, whom Jesus died for. Hell is full of forgiven people God loves, whom Jesus died for. The difference is how we choose to live, which story we choose to live in, which version of reality we trust. Ours or God's."
@onthewaytothecrapper im glad you used that quote because that is precisely my point, he is dancing around the question as to what hell really is. It is also unbiblical to say that hell is filled with forgiven people because we are forgiven by putting our trust in Jesus, repenting, and turning from our sins which would then mean we would be in heaven and not hell. Im not drinking any cool-aid here sir, im just defending what the Bible actually says compared to what Rob interprets it as
@trackguy2 well what rob is truly saying is that irregardless if you accepted it or not , Christ paid the price for all upon the cross.
what flavor kool-aid they serving @ your place of worship? seems to me you just agreed with Rob hell is full of people right? and did you look up how many times Jesus referred to hell?
@onthewaytothecrapper yeah i did, he refernces hell more than heaven - like ive said before. By reference im talking about verses that refer to hell, are about hell, warn against it, and so on. You must have simply counted how many times the phrase "the lake of fire" appeared or something im guessing but my statement remains the same. Also, christ did pay the price on the cross and give his life as a randsom 'for many" as the Bible says but it also says that the unsaved will go to hell
the word hell appears 15 times in the gospels.(and most are in the same context of passage) and heaven occurs 144 times. so roughly Jesus spoke more about heaven than hell by 10 times.(kjv used for your benefit).
so how could Jesus speak more about hell than heaven?
@onthewaytothecrapper oh my goodness, 1) stop saying "im drinking the cool-aid" , any blind bat can see that your the one whos eating up Robs emergent church heresies. Secondly, Im not JUST counting the number of times the word hell is used but rather the times hell is refered to or alluded to, and so on.... So again, your the one who is being dishonest here - i stand by my word
It's "Christ" by the way, NOT "The Christ" .. that's a New Age term ..
Keep preachin your course on miracles doctrines of devil Bell, see where it gets you.

20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." Rob Bell you cannot be the hands and feet of Jesus unless you first come to accept Him as your Lord. @446165 ::: What is your reference for the earthquake? Acts says nothing about him hanging. It just says he blew up. It is not worthy of faith as if God wrote it.
k0smon 9 months ago
@k0smon The Bible is not responsible for division - satan is. The enemy is. Our own wicked deceitful hearts are. False teachers are responsible, false prophets - the Bible is what's normal, everything going on in the world is explained so clearly for those that have eyes to see. And you right here mis-quoting and mis-representing the Bible. The Bible is not like any other book in the world period. It also states un-believers cannot discern what the good book says either. Think about that.
TechLinkOnline 9 months ago
@TechLinkOnline "The bible is not responsible" Good statement. Man bad, bible good. Only special people can understand it. You have to match the bible's wackyness to understand it. Why are there so many denominations, theological arguments, and divisions within the church? THE BIBLE!!! Such a book we can do without. It needs to be rightly divided; perhaps a stick of dynamite will do.
k0smon 9 months ago
@k0smon Right, man = bad, men who reject the truth are why we have divisions and denominations. Church's aren't THE CHURCH though, follow? All those who are born again - Jesus said "ye must be born again" all true believers are the church. There are people that may well attend Bible based, truth telling church's that might not be born again. But look, Jesus told Pilate "Everyone on the side of truth listens to me" John 18
TechLinkOnline 9 months ago
@TechLinkOnline ::: You use the word "truth" like you really know what it is. The bible says it is truth, therefore it must be so. I wrote a book once and said I was the king of Siam. It must be so, because the book said so. To find truth is a never ending quest.. You search for enlightenment, you find it, then you search for more. There is no stone tablet that you will find that defies "truth" Every denomination thinks their beliefs are "truth". See the story of Carlton Pearson' search.

@TechLinkOnline ::: What exactly happened to Judas? In Matt he gave back the money and hanged himself, in Acts he bought a plot of land and then went "splat". Which story is correct? Another example of the bible's inconsistency.
k0smon 9 months ago
@Silverbullet89 ::: Good question : Why be a Christian? Jesus wasn't.. If Carlton Pearson's gospel of inclusion is correct, then the religion is moot. That is why he became a new thought minister. Learning how to live, here and in the hereafter, is our highest goal. Joel Osteen has the right approach. Away from dogma and theological arguments!!
James5877 10 months ago

MayakuCreep 10 months ago
@MayakuCreep Calling the kettle black? How? The truth is clear in the Word of God and God didn't stutter, Rob Bell is undermining the Word of God, if you want to learn about God, read your Bible, it clearly states in many places what God is. Church is a place to gather and learn from the Word of God, helping us to live Christ's will in this earth, the meaning can't change because the meaning is stated in the Word as well.
Bravehearted1000 10 months ago
@Bravehearted1000 What are you talking about? It's obvious the meaning can change. That's EXACTLY what denominations are. It's all about interpretation when reading or listening is involved in the equation. If you know Hebrew, you can decipher it's original meaning, and even then, it's STILL considered interpretation. When you take context out of the equation, it's hard to understand what a word means. The word, "read": past tense or present tense? Rob Bell isn't undermining anything..
MayakuCreep 10 months ago
@MayakuCreep Last time I checked, God didn't change, so how does His meaning change? It's how it is, most of the Word is pretty straight forward, there is easily one meaning, Rob Bell does talk about a brickianity being placed around the Gospel, which is a good thing, I'm pretty sure God says that He is our rock, so our rock stretches? The Gospel is living and vibrant, but so is God, neither of them have changed, so, how does the meaning change?
Bravehearted1000 10 months ago
@Bravehearted1000 I didn't say anything about God, nor did I say he changes. I did say His word has been changed(translated and retranslated) many different times since it's inception. Do you think that God spoke to the english writers/translators with exactly what he wanted them to write, like he did the Hebrew/Jewish writers?
MayakuCreep 10 months ago

The King James Bible is the word of God-
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
The1Indignitary 1 year ago
@The1Indignitary The King James Bible is not the original King James. People can preach from the NIV and be used by God because the NIV is also the Word of God. The problem with the KJV, just like any English translation is that you still have to study the Greek and Hebrew to understand really what is being said. I am not saying the KJV and NIV is not the Word of God, no!. What I am saying is that you think the KJV is "The Word o God" is false.

How could we assume that we are both lowly, unworthy humans in need of a Savior BUT we are perfectly capable of interpreting Scripture, and any other shared adaptive personal insight is heresy? Rob Bell has played a large role in bringing me back to the faith and appreciating and loving Christ. Don't get this...
milkisforbabies02 1 year ago
@milkisforbabies02 Myself, I would encourage you to pray to God and ask God to teach you the truth from the scriptures or whether this gentleman is teaching what God would have you to learn. Many have really good foundations in what the scriptures teach to see the errors from Rob Bell. It has been my experiance God has to teach you the truth and sometimes no matter what insight, view, or understanding on this iussues,it is the Spirit of God through the scriptures as how we find truth in the bible
daveme7 1 year ago
@daveme7 Well said Dave. Rob Bell's teachings are false and people will see that if they just submit to the Holy Spirit and are led through the scriptures on a daily basis.
KakkoiGuy1 1 year ago
@milkisforbabies02 Basically he has challenged the simplistic theology of the so-called Fundamentalists and Evengelicalists. Rob Bell likes to answer tough questions with more questions (Jesus did that) and find a Biblical teaching or message in unlikely places. He is very clear about salvation by grace and the meaning of Jesus death, but avoids the "easy" answers so common in the American church. That´s why he is usually under fire, for not being a fire and brimstone preacher. I like him too!
flugjung 1 year ago 7
@flugjung I have had tough questions answered by evangelicals. I am confused about what you are trying to say.
jazzbummer 11 months ago
@jazzbummer The problem with many evangelicals (specially traditional Americans) is that they think themselves to be the ULTIMATE truth. No further questions allowed. This is discouraging, specially to someone with a an intellectual background like me. Rob Bell, not only helped me to answer some questions, but also encouraged me to read the Bible and continue searching. It is a LIVING Word, not a "brick" document, like some pastors (f.e John MacArthur) pretend it to be.
flugjung 11 months ago
@flugjung What do you mean by them being "Ultimate Truth"? And what were the questions that he helped you answer?
jazzbummer 11 months ago

Wow, just wow.
swingman24 10 months ago
@swingman24 MacArthur has made the Bible an idol. He is a worshiper of the written word and not HIM. The first chapter of the Gospel of John is very clear Who IS the Word, and is a Living Word. Rob Bell may not be perfect but he is honest and humble, something Biblical.
flugjung 10 months ago
@flugjung What? Wow, simply stunning. Another postmodern emerging church follower proving just how totally confused they are about what it means to be a christian. The Bible IS the Word of God. It IS truth. Everything we know about God comes from this God-breathed document. Without it we are lost. We can't just go off of our experiences or emotions.
swingman24 10 months ago
@flugjung Your logic is flawed. You have no qualifications to present an opinion on this topic because you BEGAN with Rob Bell. For those of us who began our religious journey BEFORE Rob Bell's movement, he is a false prophet and we know because we weren't introduced to the Bible through some crooked radical, but rather the TRUE way. His teachings go against such a huge fundamental aspect of Christianity that they can't possibly be correct.
krackhed999 10 months ago
@krackhed999 Learning the bible the "true" way? There is no "true" way to learn it. However you will learn, you will always be wrong. It's impossible to bridge the gap between interpretation and understanding. Especially when the bible has been translated so many times and by so many different people.
MayakuCreep 10 months ago
@MayakuCreep Sorry, I should have rephrased it. That wasn't how it was intended to be taken. What I meant was that if you entered Christianity with Rob Bell as your medium(not the cult type of medium, mind you), your opinion on the matter is automatically biased. Whereas someone who has been taught through conventional means and with the traditional comprehension of the Bible knows he is straying from the path.
krackhed999 10 months ago
@krackhed999 Bias can be controlled, although. Yes, one may have a natural bias if they would be a Mars Hill attendee. But it's what one does with the bias that matters. I may take a stance, but I personally try to be bias-free. I am not Christian, nor am I religious, so I take Rob Bell's "NOOMA" with a grain of salt, as you do, as well.
MayakuCreep 10 months ago
@MayakuCreep I do agree that many biases can be controlled, however there are some subconscious biases that can only be fixed by training your mind to ignore them. This can, however, be rather difficult as many will inadvertently present subconscious biases in things they say, and never realize it. I suppose you have to change your mentality and live with that new mentality for a while to get around a bias such as these.
krackhed999 10 months ago
@MayakuCreep Also, I'd like to point out that it's nice to see an atheist responding maturely about this topic, as over the years I have watched many of them flat-out attack the Christian society in response to mere opinions. I suppose I may be slightly biased against them myself, but I will always acknowledge maturity in any person when I see it.
krackhed999 10 months ago
@krackhed999 A lot of people on both sides of the spectrum act like that. It's sad that people can't debate without pointing fingers and being close-minded to other's opinions. I respect your ability to converse well without doing any of the a-before-mentioned. And I'm agnostic. :)
MayakuCreep 10 months ago
@MayakuCreep Ahaha, my apologies! I jumped to conclusions too quickly. And yes, I agree, it's very sad. I have given up on attempting to discuss it with many people in the past because of this. Unfortunately, it's unavoidable because there really are no arguments for or against many aspects of religion or non-religion in terms of factual presentation. There is no hard evidence that will satisfy the naysayers. But I will always stick with what I believe to be true. The Bible is my evidence.
krackhed999 10 months ago
@MayakuCreep And thank you, by the way. :)
krackhed999 10 months ago
@MayakuCreep Now, I'm not saying that all of Bell's teachings are false. My sister has watched some of his videos and I trust her word that he does teach some good things. However, this notion in particular that there is postmortem reconciliation is false and deviates entirely from everything that has been taught and learned over the years.
If it were true, how is it that over the past 2011 years we have somehow missed this supposed aspect of the Bible?
Damned after death, damned for eternity.
krackhed999 10 months ago
@MayakuCreep Sorry if I'm giving you a wall of text but something pushes me to continue.
If his idea that you can be saved after death is true, what of the sacrifice Jesus made for humankind? Was that for nothing? Why would there even BE a hell if it was to be empty anyway? These are the kinds of questions Bell should be answering in these interviews. He should even bring them up himself. Check out the Rob Bell Exposed video in the suggestions. THAT man knows the truth. And he proves it.
krackhed999 10 months ago
@flugjung Questions aren't always good. Jesus only asked questions because he wanted the answers (which he ALWAYS knew) to be realized. This man has the overwhelming opportunity to make mistakes in the fashion that he goes about Christianity.
IIIFrenchyIII 11 months ago
@IIIFrenchyIII ¿Why? I found Jesus by asking questions, lots of them. The problem are not the questions themselves but the honesty used to the ask them. It is not the question, but the answer you pretend to get. Jesus was really CLEAR with the Pharisees about their questions.
flugjung 11 months ago
@flugjung Jesus answered complex questions with questions (i.e. ones that had no right answers such as 'should we pay taxes?' answer 'Yes' you're in trouble with the Jews. Answer 'No' you're in trouble with the Romans. These were designed as traps for Jesus). Rob Bell answers straight forward questions with questions or skirts the issues. He actually undermines Jesus' death, as in his new book 'Love Wins' where he has made the Cross of Jesus irrelevant. Evangelical doctrine still stands firm.
DaGreenDog 10 months ago
Frankly, if he can't answer the easy questions (usually the ones that matter the MOST, considering the complex questions don't typically have definite answers), it would indicate that there's something wrong with this. If you can't see that, then I suppose you're no better than he is.
krackhed999 10 months ago
@flugjung Jesus asked questions to teach a specific lesson and to reveal the hidden motives of people's hearts. Jesus verified that ALL of the law was the Word of God--and He taught that Word in the synagogues; "And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes." Mt. 7:28. Jesus didn't just use stories and questions.

Rob Bell is a man. Everything he thinks and says isn't all true. He isn't God. Neither am I, neither are you. Does this make us allheritics?
mxpxer 1 year ago 6
@mxpxer So you are saying there are no absolutes? God did not reveal truth through Christ? We know what is truth by what the Word of God teaches. Paul and John and Peter were men but by what you are saying what they all said was not true?
jazzbummer 11 months ago
@jazzbummer
That would be a stupid thing to say.
mxpxer 11 months ago
@jazzbummer The quicker we put differences aside and learn to break bread together the quicker and better this resurrection rescue will kick off. There are people going hungry tonight. Others going to hell tonight, and we're talking about this video.. I'm calling myself out as well. How bout we stop criticizing leaders and join the efforts..
mxpxer 11 months ago
@mxpxer That sounds like what everyone else is saying (Atheist, Hindus, Muslims, Mormons, etc) Paul I am sure walked by many hungry people during his time and I am sure helped as many as he could but he also rebuked those who were teaching false doctrine and teaching those who were confused (I think of the Corinth church especially) so although I agree with you on that issue unless we have sound doctrine/theology, what comes out our mouth will lead others the wrong way.
jazzbummer 11 months ago
@jazzbummer From a human perspective there are no absolutes (w/the exception of death/taxes). This revelation thof truth you speak of is based on faith, faith is defined as hope. It is like waking up in the morning and saying I hope it doesn't rain today, you never know for sure. This is why I am agnostic. Even Atheist fall in the same category as the religious, they believe in absolutes (there is no god) which is no different.

DaGreenDog 10 months ago
@mxpxer you are a fool. When God gave us His Word, He didnt intend for us to have our own opinions. He intended for us to understand the things He said, not misinterpret it and come up with something you want it to say. If I say "I don't like mashed potatoes," You understand exactly what I mean because you are familiar with my phraseology, you understand each of these words, and so the concept is clear, and if someone tries to draw silly conclusions you could refute that. Scripture is the same.

Who of your relatives is in hell? I'd love to know

@SoyChapin Why would you tell that to any couple? Children are likely spared, they haven't been developed enough to make a decision. David was sure that he would see his dead child that he had with Uriah's wife in heaven. 2 Samuel 12

@noemiekpn that it puts down all the "labels" and look to Him
where in the Bible is this revelation from God found? Im not saying i agree with labels per say but we need to correct doctrine, and we need to stand firm about what sin is and why it is destructive.
trackguy2 1 year ago
@trackguy2
Hey brother (:
I'm sure we both seek the same thing: to please the heart of God. In John 17.11, 22, 23 Jesus prays to the Father that we may be one as they are one, and that we may be brought to complete unity. I just think that sometime labels can separate us. I totally agree with you that we have to correct doctrine. But I also agree with Rob Bell about looking at Jesus first and knowing that we, who have been trying to live according to His word, are His church (:
noemiekpn 1 year ago
@noemiekpn I agree we have to live according to his word but unfortunately appears to not truly believe that......... Rob has never once condemned homosexuality, he does not believe in a literal hell, he also has said that the Bible is mystery that we cannot truly understand and that Christianity has to remodeled for this time, culture, and people. All of these things fly in the face of scripture and stem from the fact that Rob does not believe in the supreme authority of the Scriptures

@onthewaytothecrapper Its a pretty massive thing when a pastor doesn't recognize the existence of hell. Jesus himself talked more about hell then he did heaven.. trackguy2 1 year ago
@trackguy2 like I said before which interviews?
and as far as hell Jesus spoke of hell only about 6 to 8 times, the entire KJV only mentions hell around 55 times, heaven appears over 500 times! so how did Jesus more on hell? the kingdom of heaven is like... not the kingdom of hell is like...

onthewaytothecrapper 1 year ago
@onthewaytothecrapper im glad you used that quote because that is precisely my point, he is dancing around the question as to what hell really is. It is also unbiblical to say that hell is filled with forgiven people because we are forgiven by putting our trust in Jesus, repenting, and turning from our sins which would then mean we would be in heaven and not hell. Im not drinking any cool-aid here sir, im just defending what the Bible actually says compared to what Rob interprets it as
trackguy2 1 year ago
@trackguy2 well what rob is truly saying is that irregardless if you accepted it or not , Christ paid the price for all upon the cross.
what flavor kool-aid they serving @ your place of worship? seems to me you just agreed with Rob hell is full of people right? and did you look up how many times Jesus referred to hell?
onthewaytothecrapper 1 year ago
@onthewaytothecrapper yeah i did, he refernces hell more than heaven - like ive said before. By reference im talking about verses that refer to hell, are about hell, warn against it, and so on. You must have simply counted how many times the phrase "the lake of fire" appeared or something im guessing but my statement remains the same. Also, christ did pay the price on the cross and give his life as a randsom 'for many" as the Bible says but it also says that the unsaved will go to hell
trackguy2 1 year ago
@trackguy2 sadly your mistaken.. go through the gospels and look for hell, than look @heaven each time write them down. and see the totals.
and again you have demonstrated that you have no accurate facts just here say.
and again keep drinking the kool-aid
onthewaytothecrapper 1 year ago
@trackguy2
the word hell appears 15 times in the gospels.(and most are in the same context of passage) and heaven occurs 144 times. so roughly Jesus spoke more about heaven than hell by 10 times.(kjv used for your benefit).
so how could Jesus speak more about hell than heaven?
onthewaytothecrapper 1 year ago
@onthewaytothecrapper oh my goodness, 1) stop saying "im drinking the cool-aid" , any blind bat can see that your the one whos eating up Robs emergent church heresies. Secondly, Im not JUST counting the number of times the word hell is used but rather the times hell is refered to or alluded to, and so on.... So again, your the one who is being dishonest here - i stand by my word
trackguy2 1 year ago
@trackguy2 on the contrary when did Jesus say anything about hell?
4 times in the book of revelation "lake of fire is mentioned"
Jesus mentioned eternal damnation only in mark 3:29
the term death appears 138 times in 124 verses.
torment only appears 12 in 10 verses.
Jesus used the phrase "kingdom of heaven" 32 times in the gospels alone.
even the word parable appears 30 times more than damnation and hell fire and brimstone.
