Good story. Yeah, when you try and hold the bible up to scutiny, it quickly becomes evident you have a problem. As a kid, i kinda knew Noah's Ark seemed highly implausible, yet i still went along with it for many years, such is the power of indoctrination.
"I'm not an intellectual, unfortunately" - You shouldn't put yourself down (plenty of youtubers will do that for you ;-) Nice, interesting video! My own story is rather different as my parents & maternal Grandparents were atheists so I was never brought up with anything to deconvert from! I do remember describing myself as an atheist in primary school and a (religious) teacher telling me not to be silly, I wasn't old enough to understand what that meant ;-)
I'm curious (I don't know much about the details of this over there), with the massive rise of atheism in your area, is there more of a push to end this "Church of England" and a removal of prayer in schools in your area? Meanwhile, great story, thanks for the response, and let's hope some more people "grow up" as well.
There are growing attempts to "disestablish" the church, i.e. separate it from the state. It'll be difficult as the Queen as head of state is also "Defender of the Faith". The National Secular Society and the British Humanist Society are the leaders on this.
A close parallel to my story: accepting teaching from authority, hearing the conclusions doubted by others, learning of different "authorities," learning to seek evidence, and concluding that early religious training was bullshit. I'll look forward to your next.

A part of a letter from my 2nd grade teacher:
Explain to him some of the things about religion I can not make clear to him.
This is a public school?
I'm proud of this letter!
So my parents sent me to a Catholic school in the 4th grade & was expelled in the 6th!
I was taking swings at the nuns & they were taking swings at me! & dam proud of it!

As for religion in schools, that's a subject for a least two more vidoes!
