  • Thanks for this. It worked perfectly.

  • F**k technology F**k it F**k it F**k it. I keep getting this sh*tty message saying "Could not be copied an error has occurred file could not be found" bull s**t

  • @Hexrina Sorry to hear about your dilema. Technology can be a big hassle of many of us including myself. If you want to explain in further detail what you were trying to do to get the error message, I'm sure we would be more than happy to help you with your situation. Hope all works out. :)

  • @trusoljahs No it's okay i solved doing something else. It's sad how when you want something done simply....it never works

  • Thank you this video really helped and I can now do work in my iPad 2!!!

  • i hv browsed down to apps but the pages could not be found where to get free apps for pages

    thks

  • My Friend you should do more of these for Apple iPad. Very useful video, with the following being key to that:

    Simplicity;

    Sticking to the subject matter;

    Showing both devices during the video;

    Being clear;

    Being concise;

    Explaining using directions (scroll down etc);

    Telling us the result of actions;

Referring to what we should see at each step.

Thanks for taking your time to set this up.

  • Thank you! very much useful!

  • Thank you so much :3

  • Thanks for sharing

  • my ipad doesn't have the file sharing thing at the end when i scroll down,

    help, please!!!!

  • @TheMikaela1992 Hey sorry for the late reply due to holidays. The sharing thing for the ipad is a folder icon with a plus sign in the middle. When you tap on this, it should open the files that you transfered from your computer. hope this helps. :)

  • @trusoljahs thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu,!!!!!

  • Excellent video. Very clear and concise. This will truly help a lot of iPad users.

  • you rock bro! thank u sir!!!

  • Can you upload multiple documents at the same time onto pages, say if you had a folder full of 10 documents or do you have to do them one at a time? thanks

    jamesbauckman@gmail.com

  • @jamesbauckman Hi, thanks for the great question. To be honest I have not tried to upload that many docs. I know that you can upload docs individually through iTunes. However, I apologize as I cannot answer your question.

  • @jamesbauckman Hey, i just found that if you drag all of your files then it works together, no need for individual file moving, hope this helps.

  • @jamesbauckman SWEET!! Thanks for sharing, I know this will help a lot of people! You Rock!

  • Thank you so much for this short instruction, it was fantastic.

  • @digchri2 Your welcome. Thanks :)

  • Thanks alot

  • @ladytebogo Your welcome. :)

  • When you transfer a doc to pages, can you highlight words or phrases? Or is their an app tgat can do that, like the way kindle lets you highlight as you read?

  • What version of iTunes should I use? I didn't see that "devices" button in my iTunes version. Thanks man!

  • @mhonsons777 thanks for the great question. just use the current version of itunes as the folder button is now the 'plus icon' on the bottom. hope this helps

  • this is the paid app right? is there a free one to use ms office?

  • @ravingrouge Thanks for the great question. Unfortunately, Pages is a paid app. As far as your second question, I will look around to see if they have a free app that edits ms office. sorry.

  • @trusoljahs thanks!

  • what app do you use? you didn't mention

  • @ravingrouge Thanks for the great question. I used Apple's app called Pages. Hope this helps.

  • i like your wallpaper

  • Best contest ever: goo.gl\8ONjl have fun and win ipad 2.

  • Is this app old & gone now b/v I cannot find it for my ipad~I like the easy transfer of word .docs & the highlighting feature for school. if this is obsolete could you direct me to your current recommendation instead?<3 Pretty please!

  • @lbelli21 Hi, this app is Apple official word doc app called 'Pages'. Hope that helps.

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • you're the best reviewer ever :p this made me buy my ipad 2.... thanks !

  • thanks!!!

  • superstar.. thanks man

  • hello. great tutorial. I was wondering though, I transferred some files from itunes to pages, now since i've transferred those files ages ago, i wanted to delete it. i deleted them straight in pages but the files are still there when i open itunes. how do i completely remove these old files without having to install and reinstall pages app?

  • @incurable22 Thanks for the great question. Yes there is a was to delete your file within the Pages app, when you are in the documents section where you can view all of your docs, select the edit button on the top right, your docs should begin to shake, then select desire doc to be deleted, and press the trashcan icon on the top left. Hope this helps.

  • yes i tried it yesterday becuase i really need to move my docs to my ipad but the apps that i found at the bottom is google earth there is no pages..... should I download the page apps. to be able to read the docs that i wll sync ?

  • @H8oodo Hi, thanks for the great question. Based on your question, yes you do need to download the pages app to view your docs on ipad. However, if you just want to view your docs and not edit, there are other free apps you can find. Pages app is quite expensive, but it you plan to use your ipad for creating docs then it a great investment.

  • @trusoljahs Hi, can you suggest the other free apps that I can view my docs without editing? And yes I admit that the Pages app is pretty expensive. So could you please tell me any other apps i can view doc? thank you

  • Thank you, I found it by hitting the + button, then clicking on iTunes. Works great! Thanks!

  • I followed the steps from your video, and the files are showing up on iTunes, but when I go to the App, it doesn't give me the folder to open the file?

    Any thoughts?

  • @claumergiddens Hi, thanks for the great question. Sorry this video was filmed before the update. The folder in the top right has been moved to the bottom of the document screen. Hope this helps.

  • @claumergiddens I had the same problem. The solution is to open the App on the iPad and touch the "+" button on the top left corner. Touch the "Copy from: iTunes" button and select the documents you want to transfer...one at a time. Hope this helps.

  • How about a PowerPoint presentation. Can this be transferred also?

  • @angiebutler128 Thanks for the great question. Unfortunately you cannot transfer powerpoint presentations to pages app. However, there is a popular app designated only for powerpoint presentations, the app is called 'Keynote'. It allows you to transfer Powerpoint files back and forth from ipad to your computer. Hope this helps.

  • Is it a pricy app? Is this a 'm word' like app? What do you edit, is only text or layout and things asswell? thanks in advance.

  • When I go to file sharing ap, pages is not listed. Only google earth. Any suggestions?

  • @a175582 Thanks for the great question. Some of the viewers said that they simply uninstalled the app then reinstalled it and it worked. Keep in mind that you wont be required to purchase the Pages app again. So when you reinstall it, it will be free. Hope this helps. Have a good one.

  • When I go to file sharing ap pages is not listed. Only google earth. Any suggestions?

  • Better than Dropbox?

  • @okalrelsrv Great question! Dropbox is THE BEST! The only time I transfered a doc using iTunes via USB was for this video alone. Since owning an the 1st and 2nd gen iPad, to transfer files betwenn my pc and ipad I have used Dropbox, Evernote, and emai. These have been my go to apps when I needed to transfer files. If anyone is reading this, Dropbox is the way to go to transfer files. I can't wait till iCloud arrives with iOS5. Thanks.

  • is this the last version of itunes ?!?! plz answer me :/

  • @aminuclear Sorry for the late reply and great question. No, this is not the latest version of itunes. This video was made when the iPad was first released last year. Neither is the Pages app. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • i tried to move another document (this time .doc) to my iPad, didn't work :( i don't get it!

  • @normalfaerie Thanks a great question. have you tried emailing to see if the format works, meaning your .doc opens in pages? thanks

  • cause i transferred it from my iPad to my mac and then i edited it, wanted to put it back, doesn't work anymore. how come? please help!

  • @normalfaerie Hi, thanks for the great question. Keep in mind that Pages does not have the full function of a MS word or Pages (mac version). There may be some fonts or settings that are found on the pc word but not on the pages, hence preventing you from opening your doc. Hope this helps. thanks.

  • this actually doesn't work for me :( i've been trying to transfer my .pages file to my iPad Pages app and it doesn't work. idk why! like i edited it on my mac and then put it back in my app but its weird. it doesn't see the changes. so i deleted the file in my iPad to see, maybe i need to renew it or something. then i synced my file again. it doesn't turn up anymore ._.

  • @normalfaerie Yeah, i would do the same.

  • thank you have helped out a great deal! i was just wondering how i could transfer word to my iPad. thank you so much

  • @Burr0481 Thank you for your kind words. have a good one.

  • if i were to write a full text on pages, can i export the file to my computer and

can the ipad print documents as well?

  • Thanks for posting this tutorial. I couldn't figure it out to save my life!

  • @damooster Thank you. Glad it helped. have a good one.

  • Thanks, helped a lot.

  • @coconuthead418 Your welcome. take it eaay

  • This helped a lot - thanks!!

  • @agallela Your welcome. Have a good one :)

  • This was not at all intuitive for me. Thanks for the helpful video!!!

  • @MplsLiz Thanks. have a good one.

  • great video. i found this to be very helpful. keep up the good work

  • @msfoye Your welcome. Have a good one. :)

  • Thank you. I was ON HOLD WAITING and I watched this and transferred files before APPLE CARE picked up the phone.

  • @alanmatth Wow thanks for the comment. Glad everything worked out. Have a good one.

  • Pages doesnt import excel files

The original format gets messed up

  • @rvrflow

You have to use Numbers for that - Pages is for .doc or .docx files only.

  • Pages doesnt import excel files

  • Thanks a million! Do you know if it would work for onenote?

  • @bshimmel1992 Thanks for the great question. Unfortunately I have not worked with onenote. Sorry.

  • I have been searching for how to do this! This was short and to the point! Thank you so much!!

  • @LesnDav I transfered a number of files at the same time to iTunes, but I don't see how I can transfer more than one at a time to my iPad. Do you know if I can, or do I have to do it one at a time?

  • Thank you very much, was really helpful

  • @lijoytj your welcome. have a good one

  • Thanks for a very clear little vid - exactly what I needed

  • @adow77 Your welcome. Glad it helped. have a good one.

  • I had to listen in silence cause I was downstairs however I have liked this video as I was still able to understand how to sync word files so thanks dude :)

  • @TutorialTVOfficial thanks for the kind words. have a great one.

  • can u sync all the work you made on a word document on ur iPad with your Microsoft word on ur pc after ur done?

  • @33016bgec Thanks for the great question. As far as I know you can sync all your docs to your mac/pc. You have to make sure that when exporting your ipad docs it is in the right format (i.e. word/pages). Or you can use dropbox service which makes it simple and wireless avoiding connecting via usb and itunes. Hope this helps. have a good one.

  • @33016bgec Yes, I believe you can. When you connect your iDevice again as you click your file there should be a Save button

  • thanks alot man you really made my day better i never knew how to get my docs on my iphone !!!!!

    good job

  • @themaininthetrashcan thank you. glad it helped. have a good one.

  • thanks, very useful for me

  • @lidermin Thanks, have a good one.

  • will officeworks spreadsheet work also for ipad2?

  • @bling88888 Thanks for the great question, and sorry for the late reply. It worked for a friend on mine, but I havent personally tried it. thanks.

  • The problem for me that I can do all till I open pages app on ipad, there is no "My Documents" screen in my ipad. Any suggestions for this, Thanks for your help.

  • Thank you for this explanation. I am thinking of purchasing an iPad for a friend who only has a PC and is not technologically saavy. Would the iPad be best or would an Android Tablet be better because they don't have ITunes or any other Apple product that I am aware of?

  • @watsonj101 sorry for the late reply and thanks for the great question. To be fair I havent played with an android tablet yet. I tried the xoom for about 15 minutes but that is not enough time for me to compare the products. However, the iPad has been great for my friends and family who are not tech savvy either. my niece who is 4 loves her iPad, my friend takes it everywhere he goes, and my sister in law is addicted to it. So far I believe that iPad is great for those who are not tech savvy :)

  • Can we arrange our documents in files in the pages app???

  • @gautam19981 Thanks for the great question. I am not sure what do you mean by arranging? I know you can edit your documents if that is what you mean. sorry.

  • The problem for me that I can do all till I open pages app on ipad, there is no "My Documents" screen in my ipad. Any suggestions for this, Thanks for your help.

  • @zhengpingl thanks for the great question. When i first downloaded the app, i had the same problem. I fixed it by uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Hope this helps, and again sorry for the late reply. thanks.

  • Thankyou. Although I was wondering how to transfer documents from pc to iphone 4. Your guide still helped perfectly. Cheers.

Some people are mentioning about PDFs too, I used a separate app called iBooks (free) where I can click and drag the pdf from my desktop into the iBooks icon listed under my device.

  • @ocofan Thanks for the great insight to using pdf on iBooks. I totally forgot ibooks had that option. have a good one.

  • @winkeh4ever Your welcome. Have a good one

  • Hey your video is great but on my iTunes, my ipad was synced, I clicked on apps but for some reason when I scrolled down file sharing isn't there? Any ideas why it might not be there?

  • @xxSNRahimxx thanks for the great question. I had the same problem when I first downloaded the app. After uninstalling it and reinstalling it worked. Hope that helps. Sorry.

  • thank you for uploading this video!!!!!!! can i put adobe documents .pdf?

  • @TampicoKingT Sorry for the late reply. I have tried to put pdf files on it but it did not work for me. Maybe someone knows how. sorry.

  • @trusoljahs to put adobe documents on, you need to download a pdf reader app. for example, pdf-notes free for ipad. it's easy to search for on the itunes store and it's free.

  • @bigbobdabest Sweet thanks. yeah i use goodreader app for pdf. but i will check out that app you mentioned. Thanks and have a good one.

  • Thanks a lot. Very helpful.

  • @nerdysock Your welcome. Have a good one.

  • What a shame!

Always having to go through iTunes!

Better wait for Asus Transformer or other Android tablets, much more capable than the iPad and soon replacing my netbook.

  • @Galmiza LOL. True that iPad has to always go through iTunes to backup everything. However, owners of the iPad just email their documents to themselves, or use cloud services to by pass using iTunes/usb connection to transfer documents. I wish apple would allow us to back up our data through wireless. I guess that's the tradeoff for iPad owners. Thanks for stopping by, Have a good one.

  • @trusoljahs Thanks for your fast answer! You are right. When everything will be done over the internet, a tablet with no physical access to usb keys, external harddrive, SD cards, standard bluetooth connection... will be far enough for me ;). But we are not there yet.

My notebook is getting old. I need to replace it without loosing key features such are being able to manage/synchronise external data as on a PC, write kilometers of formated texts.

  • @Galmiza Well said. :)

  • Thanks

  • @KBiscombe No problem. take it easy.

  • Thank u for this! It helped.

  • @MorbidygloomRock Your welcome. Have a good one.

  • Sorry....i was shocked by the price 19$ wooohh. Maybe it free for u guys n in some country.,which n my case ncludes the phil. :-( anyways ty sir......

  • @greyhoundNY Sorry to hear. I wish I knew of a way to get it free. Good luck and have a good one. thanks.

  • I found the same app like the one that u click..i need to get that first but i was shi

  • im using 16 gig IPAD...I dnt have file sharing....why is that?? i did exactly what you did on your video....Im from the phil. does it matter?

  • @greyhoundNY thanks for the great question. I am guessing there was something wrong with either the way you installed itunes, or the current iOS you are using. Or like you said it could be where you are located. sorry I couldn't be more help.

  • Salamat......thank you.....

  • @greyhoundNY your welcome.

  • Thanks so much!!!! I actually kept working on it until I figured it was as "copy from itunes".

Now I can't figure out how to exit from a PDF document on quickoffice on my iPad since there are no controls anywhere. I would love to know. I was able to download it from googledocs from my email but can't get back "home" now. :/

  • thankss..

  • @apizankpee your welcome.

  • I love your video! Thanks for the help. I tried it and my iPad doesn't show the folder when I open pages. Any idea why? :/

  • @cgoswitz I'm having the same problem...did you figure it out?

  • @kathykloster Thanks for the great question. Sorry, I filmed this before the update to pages. The box with the arrow is now found in the "my documents" screen on the bottom. It's the box with an arrow pointing down. tap on it and select copy from itunes then you will be able to select your document. hope this helps. have a good one.

  • The thing i like about is that, when i want to do this at another person house im stuffed because sometimes they might not have a Apple connecter thing. But when i just use my epc is alot more easier beause i can just use a USB stick or a SD card

  • @ioutrankyou thanks for the great comment. you do bring up a great point. But to be honest, this is the only time I used the apple connector to transfer documents. I use dropbox on both my home computer and iPad, and it does sync wireless and automatic. Great service. and I also use email, much easier. The only downside is you need an internet access. But then again, that's what buyi
