  • CV JOINT = CV HALF SHAFT AKA CV AXLE. EVERYONE HAVE THEM FOR THE FRONT WHEEL. DRIVE SHAFT WOULD BE WHAT CONNECT TRANS TO REAR AXLE WITH A U-JOINT.

  • do you hear a clank sound or sudden deep vibration when poping into drive from neutral, Do you hear a metal ticking sound coming from under your car when traveling under load such as sharp turns or going up a hill at low speeds. If so its a bad drivetrain ujoint.

  • @Lokivoid yeah what does that mean, cv joint? (1999 silverado z71)

  • @ronwrobl9417 CV= constant velocity or a Half shaft. like on front wheel drives. silverado's have a live rear axle so no CV axles

  • @Lokivoid

Drivetrain u joint aka rear u-joint are the two cross shaped joint connectors on the drive shaft connecting to the rear axle. Though there are a number of other causes for the sound CV joints can be one of them, but in most cases its the Rear Ujoints.

  • mine is doing that only in the front also and vibrates under light throtle

  • My buddy's 03 S10 did this too, was u-joints.

  • yeah sounds like mine before i replaced it. was seized into a solid piece

  • Doesnt look like there´s any play in that joint, but it could be the noise however if the needle bearings inside are broken
