@VuDu4000 They dont use it as a passenger seat. the right hand side that we were looking from is used to hold electronical components for the car so it is easy acess if something goes wrong
Look I'm American and all, but it's just dumb to say things like that. European tracks, by and large, have a ton more character and challenge than American tracks. All we have going for us is Road America, Infineon, Laguna Seca, and Sebring, and even Sebring is completely flat.
We actually have quite a few characterful tracks, including...but not limited to: Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio, Summit Point, Summit Point Shenandoah, Road Atlanta, Mosport, VIR, Lime Rock, and many others.
We have interesting tracks, nobody is debating that, though Mosport is in Canada. I just feel that the general consensus is that European courses often outclass their American counterparts.
Yep, nowhere has tracks (or cars to match) quite like Europe!
Laguna Seca and Suzuka are the best circuits outside of Europe but between Spa, Monaco, Mugello, (of course) the Nurburgring and Le Mans...... even if you could design and build better tracks they'll never have the history.
that is a good spot too. Alot of action has taken place over the years in 3. I like standing along the fence right when they start braking, so you get a feel for the speed.
ahh i see. thats cool, i live in minneapolis so i have to camp there haha. yeah we drive there on thursday thru the day and then stay at a hotel in oshkosh, then drive to the track in the morning. its alot of fun.

Why do they need a passanger seat in those cars? Can't they just make it 1 seat and save some weight?

CART set the Lap Record here at 1:39:xx, so about 10 seconds faster a lap than an LMP1 car.
Doubt it, but anyone know if FXX Evo's ever ran here, and what Schumi's time was if he drove? I'm wondering how FXX Evo's compare to LMP1's.
kinnokaizoku 1 year ago
An LMP1 would run circles around an FXX Evo.
Acidicheartburn 1 year ago 5
I'm guessing the FXX couldn't be as fast as an LMP1. Mainly beacause it just wouldn't have the immense downforce an LMP1 generates.
Part of the reason LMP1's are so big is so they have a huge footprint for grip and a huge surface area for the wings/diffusers etc. to work so well.
I think the FXX would be every bit as exciting though since modern LMP1 cars have an almost robotic "point and shoot" way of going around corners!
Unlike the nasty Audi diesels it sounds like a REAL racer too.

i would love to add a chicane into road america, who wants to see cars go down long straights?
Thavggg 2 years ago
Many people do, long straights give the possibility of slipstreaming and very high speeds. Chicanes almost universally ruin racing. :)
vansoth 2 years ago 7
@vansoth Chicanes add an extra challenge to the racing.
