I am Always picking my Nails and Flapping my Hands. I check to see if the door is locked very Frequently. I only step on the Red Tiles on our Checkered floor at School and Can't stand to step on the Yellow ones. I chomp my Teeth a lot, and Hoard often. Hard to Throw things away. I am constantly counting and Rearranging Labels on Items in my house to Perfect the Orders. OCD can be Hard to Control and Gets in the Way of life Often.
Dr. Jeffery Schwartz at UCLA has developed a highly effective OCD treatment intended to be self administered (you become your own therapist). The treatment is available free online (Google: Dr. Jeffery Schwartz 4 steps) or in his book "Brain Lock". The treatment is very hard to apply at the beginning, but becomes easier as your condition improves
I HAVE THE SICKEST OCD, BUT THANK GOD I FOUND Zolpidem (Ambien, Stilnox) . IT RELEAXES U FOR ABOUT 5,, HOURS AND UR OCD VANISHES FOR SOMETIME, ITS NOT A PERMENANT CURE BUT U SHUD DEFINITELY TRY DIS TILL U RECOVER, NO MEDICINE WORKDED ON ME BUT DIS nd if u think ur living in hell, m in a much worse position but i Trust in God :) Keep ur trust alive, life can be beautiful, there is hope cz nothing is impossible for God, stay blessed
I think OCD is misdiagnosed for basic intelligence. All the people shown with OCD are all incredibly intelligent. It involves higher awareness--a quality which most humans lack.
@juliansa74 It is a bad joke. It (or a joke in common) definatly isn't considered funny if it must be explained to someone. The person is acting like he/she is "acting out a compulsion". Most likely being a numerical obsession (most likely dealing with even numbers) where he/she must only watch a minute (60 seconds) of this video. The person then does so, most likely feeling or believing that if he/she doesn't do so, a horrible event will happen. OCD can take over a persons life! It is serious.
@SongResponse Did you turn off that light in the other room? Are you sure? Are you really sure? Did you wait 7 seconds before you checked it again? Are you sure it was exactly 7 seconds? That light in your other room is starting to bother me. Where is your house? It needs to be turned off!!
One more thing...nuerofeedback is scientific, it helps with sound waves that can regulate the brainwaves that repeat in troublesome areas of the brain. That is where OCD occurs. It can also help with depression, anxiety , addiction, post tramatic stress syndrome and ADHD; Science is not hippie shit. It has helped my son and he has more problems than only OCD. Have you ever looked at an evaluation of your brain activity? That is what they do first. Then they help the areas best needed.
Apparently you haven't tried it. It is drug free and is not covered with health insurance. We live in a world that believes in pills. Accupunture and chiropractic aren't either...doesn't mean Nuerofeedback has no merit. It has only been around for 10 years....it's new and it helps. Not a cure, but a start if you are looking for relief. Don't appreciate the rude comments.
i have friend who did cured few people who suffer from o.c.d. , he use Reiki method (google it to know more) its safe, fast and guarunteed , for more information on this , please feel free to contact me at (403)397-8488
one more thing , it wont take him more than 2 days to cure from o.c.d and any kind of phobia....thank you
So, according to Dr.Whithall(?), my case would be more of compulsions than obsessions. but what if those compulsions are things you really wanna do and can lead you to make significant progress in what you're doing?
With my OCD I drink a lot, wash my hands, I only step on the 3rd tile on my tiled floor (I find it fun), and a few other things
