@myrelative I'm an independent with a liberal lean and I agree with the speaker from Texas. The bill had stated that those who can't afford health care would be taxed. Though, I do not khow of that was kept in the final bill. I'm also against health care "reform " and would much rather see a free health care system implemented. Unfortunately, that is current not feasible given our debts.

As someone whose gone through the American system and Canadian system in the past few years, I have to say that the care provided in American hospitals is FAR SUPERIOR to socialized medicine... which btw, still requires Canadians to pay for insurance, while leaving sky high taxes

At which point, perhaps, people might realize that the very concept of health insurance is incompatible with profit motive. Health Insurance companies don't want to provide health insurance; they want to collect premiums from healthy people and pay as nothing for health care.

But they wont realize, because people have been conned into believing that the purpose of people is to enable businesses to make profit, and not that the purpose businesses is to provide goods and services people want.
