One day it started raining, and it didn't quit for four months. We been through every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin' rain... and big ol' fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath. Shoot, it even rained at night...
me and my friend Michelle were home alone for the weeekend and only her sister was home but she was at her friends house and i remember tht this tornado lasted 2 days like all the storming and stuff and me and her were freakin out we r like screaming and running and calling people i could have sworn i peed my pants tht day and when it came over the house cuz we could see it from the basement ooooo scary stuff man scary stuff
Before that storm hit Chicago, it hit the town where I live at the edge of Iowa and the lightning was absolutely insane...it was literally striking everything. Then after the storm I saw the power company workers hauling a couple of transformers because I guess a couple of them got blown. It was pretty funny to watch the Cubs game later and see that storm lighting up that place too!
Yeah i was away from home in navy pier when this happned. I was with my aunt and like 5 little kids. we were all scared. But i was more scared for my mom who was alone.
i live in kankakee illinois and we got 90 to 100 mph winds with that storm and my tree fell on to the power lines they say it might of been a vortex that produced the 90 to 100 mph winds
And there was a lightning bolt that struck our tree it the front yard and it killed our internet/Wi-Fi/phones and it killed two of our TVs, just by the electrons radiating from the bolt.
man i was there it was really crazy. I was at the cubs game and the sirens went off and we totally freeked out. i hid in a bathroom for 5 minutes with my brother. We got home at like 1:00 and it was just going wild our power was ou for like ever. my dad shoved us in our basement and told us to keep calm. Dang that storm was freeky
Yes, this was an extreme storm; massive 70-80 mph wind gusts, trees down all over, tons of lightning. You have to admit though, it was pretty exciting, though I wouldn't want to get in the way of a possible tornado. Did anyone notice how sinister the clouds looked right before it started to pour? I live in Naperville, so maybe it didn't look that way in other places.
I live in Chicago, and I too noticed how sinister the clouds and sky looked before all this happened. By far once of the scariest nights ever. I freaked out when I heard the air raid sirens. My power went out shortly after, just got my power back on around 1pm. Several trees are down around where I live, but it seems the burbs got it so much worse from what I saw on the news. I hate storms to begin with, but this was on a whole other level. It was serious and vicious! This video captures it well
yeah, i live in dupage county, (around 20-25 miles from chicago) and he were under a tornado warning for our whole county. it happened at 7:30 and our power went out at like 7:55. came back on at 5:30 am the next day
I'm in the city and my electric has been out since the storm started last night. I'm spoiled with air conditioning and it's HOT out. No air, no fans. One of my dogs do not take the heat well and I'm worried about her. However, it's my (2) freezers full of meat that I'm most worried about. We called ComEd's (Electric Co.) 24hr. EMERGENCY hotline. The prerecorded message said they closed the emergency department down and sent their employees home. Ha! Nice. Oh well. It could be worse.
yeah, I live close to Rockford, probably 20 minutes south. the sirens didn't go off in my town, but I was at work and our power went out for about 20 seconds, and at the same time I looked outside and saw the storm blow in at full force, with sideways rain and everything...couldn't even see across the street. When the power came back, we heard tornado warnings on the radio and I got really scared, even though I usually love storms. It was a really intense storm, I am so glad nobody got hurt.
come on you all ......... it WAS pretty intense last nite!!!!! :) i live in pilsen & LOVED watching all that lightening & the horizontal rain ........
I was at school when this happened and some of the girls in the learning studio thought it was car alarm and next thing i know, the guy comes up to us and tells us that we have to go in the hall way then we went down stairs in the basement.
