To quote One Bad Pig: If you´re just making a bunch of noise - shut up. Music without this clear message is nothing but music. That may be okay, but it´s very refreshing when the musicians dare to sing about what really matters. So where´s the sequel to the great but late O.C. Supertones?
I'm a singer songwriter and just went to a concert not long ago. I was disapointed by one band who was very entertaining, but it was so loud it was inaudible what the message was. I would be furious if people could at least have a chance to understand what it is I'm trying to say.
Awesome point breakoutpraise! Don't get me wrong Sawyer, we are Jesus' followers we need to be an example, including visually. But there are some people that cannot/will not be reached by certain people just because the way that they dress.
What do you mean sawyer? Look like it? What does a Christian look like? Isn't it what is in their hearts and coming out of their mouths and the way that they act that is important? There are kids (Like I was for example) who liked pantera and hard metal where you can't understand the words. I like that music. I love the OC supertones too, but my point is that I think it is great that there is Christian music of all types to reach out to all types of people. The message will be found within.
Agreed, I was watching a Christian Rock show where the number 1. song was some song they screamed all the way through, you couldn't tell if they were talking about Jesus or the devil, and thats where you need to rethink your band, if you're Christian, make it look like it at least, BTW this is from one of the best Christian Rock albums ever created period.
The band your referring to is probably under the hardcore genre... my youth leader and a friend are in a hardcore band too and all you hear is screaming but at every show they play they minister and give a salvation prayer opportunity... I had the same mind state as you when i first heard their songs but when i went to their shows, i was blown away at how much people got touched... There has to bands like that because in order to clean the fish first you must catch it!
These songs have brought back so many memories! I will keep fighting till the knock out!

This type of message is rarely seen in "christian music" today. Or either messages in christian rock today are mostly vague.
