@LandyGerhardt I doubt it. He's too with it these days to have fucked his brain up back then. Just naturally creative and brilliant. Incredibly intelligent man as well.
I grew up with Peter Combe and Don Spencer - I was only a year or two too early for The Wiggles. I still believe that Don epitomised Australian children's folk music, and that Peter epitomised Australian children's pop music.
@NewhamMatt Soooo true...Peter and Don are awesome :) Sadly I didn't grow up listening to their music as much as I would have wanted cos I wasted most of my childhood listening to The Wiggles :(
LOL! "As I said Paparotti live from the Ophra house" (Points to the floor) "That was Peter Combe dead from the Playhouse" LOL! I remember hearing this song when I was 4, I loved Peter Combe, I am 15, and I still do now :D, I wish someone uploaded Walking Down The Spangaro. I love his outfit :D
i loved peter combe when i was 3 and i still love him and im 17...i still watch our video of him with my nephiew and i enjoy it just the same. he goes wild for him!
The Wiggles though lack creativity, as their songs work on a far simpler level. They lack humour, and I feel that they've sold out. I see them as businessmen more than musicians.
@uraniumdeath Yep, although ironically I grew up listening to The Wiggles. Nowadays I feel that I should have listened to Peter Combe and Don Spencer.
it is all his own stuff. As a parent he was inspired alot by his kids, in fact most of his songs are in reference to things his kids said or did during their childhood.
Im so glad this song is now up on youtube. Any idea where that was filmed? Coz i swear I went to see him a youngie or it was franscis henri...think peter. Went to see him last year which was so much fun. Love to just sway like crazy to this song!!!
Adelaide Festival Centre in 1992, i'm probably in the audience there somewhere

No thanks.
I simply don't like The Wiggles. It has never done anything for me.
The beauty about sight is that it is no reliable, and how we view something is based largely on our own opinion.
We clearly don't share the same one, and that's fine.
I feel both Peter Combe and Don Spencer's songs have better lyrics, more life, and greater relevance to me.
However, that is based on my experiences, not yours, so your opinion is your own, and I'll respect that, even if I think The Wiggles suck.

Fair enough.
The Wiggles though lack creativity, as their songs work on a far simpler level. They lack humour, and I feel that they've sold out. I see them as businessmen more than musicians.
uraniumdeath 3 years ago 9
No.
He was THE kids musician in the 1980s and 1990s, before the whore-like Wiggles released stupid songs about crap.
Peter Combe's songs are far, far better.

I think he was like a supervisor or teacher at a school or kindy or something like that, and would sort of come up with rhymes.
t33nid0l 3 years ago
i dont want to get any thumbs down for this, but i was wandering if he did make all of his own songs or did he have a songwritter?
i HOPE it ALL his own work
youngwidow2007 3 years ago
im pretty sure he writes all the songs.
