Even though I'm challenging your idea of what makes a good EmC, we probably share similar tastes. Just curious, based on your criteria, who you would rate as maybe, the top 10 or 20 rappers of all time. Somewhere in my list would be Em, Rakim, Black Thought, Rick, Mos Def, Tip, Busta, Ace, Skillz, Canibus, Ortiz, Immortal Technique, KRS, Raekwon, Sean P, Rock, Royce, Nas, DMX, Buckshot, BIG, Pac... am I missing anyone? Please don't tell me sesame street rappers from the 80s!

A deficiency? Define deficiency, Your definition would likely be that he doesn't flow with precision. I'm saying that the way he rhymes slightly offbeat sounds sick. He is unique. A rapper like Black Thought can sound good hitting each beat perfectly, but that doesn't make him better, just techniquely sound. Creativity and the end product is more important than rigid perfectionism. It's an art, not a science.

If a singer can't sing on key how is some outside of the box tactic going to be artistic when the foundation is fundamentally FLAWED? The thing that kills me is that EMINEM SAID THIS HIMSELF! People are arguing against what the man clearly stated in the description box. He has gotten better at it and at times he is on point, but....it is something he has struggled with and he accepts and acknowledges it as a deficiency.

You completely miss the point of what makes an artist "good". I listen to Em because there is something unique about his style and I want to listen to it. Show me 5 perfect rappers and you'll be showing me 5 artists that all hit my eardrum the exact same way.

I can appreciate technique, but text book style is boring. I just watched Barcelona stomp Manchester playing perfect soccer, but it was dull as hell. I want to be entertained. All forms of art have deviated from the obsession with perfection. You would enjoy Opera or Classical ballet. You would be a fan of classic renaissance painters who embodied perfection and technique. For most of the rest of us, we have been drawn to abstract techniques because they give us something new.

I would judge EmCs by how they make a crowd react and how their lyrics hit you. Youre sitting on a pedestal judging these dudes on their colour and adherence to your idea of what rap is supposed to sound like. I love Black Thought, but the fact that you identified his closing punchline as the best of the show when the crowd didnt even seem to notice it shows just how alone you are in your thinking.

A singer singing off key is not a technique it is a deficiency. You can't get more abstract that ODB and Master Killa and I LOVE them. So, your argument has no relevance to my stance.

But Listen to 'Biterphobia', 'The living proof', and 'run rabbit run'. I think Ems level on those particular songs is as good or better than the guys you mentioned. I only recently started paying attention to hip hop, so If you feel differently, i'd like to hear your critique on those songs.

See, this is the thing, I don't dislike Eminem and I'm not even saying what he does isn't brilliant, but...there are certain things he just can't do that are basic and simple. Example...listen to how Black Thought switched up his flow to match the beat. Em can't do that. He is an internal rhymer. Nothing wrong with that but that's what he is.
