So all in all, if you really wanted to test the speed comparison between the two it would have been better if they both had the same Hard Drive, so that the only affecting factor within the test is the Motherboard and the CPU
@richixxxd1 I have an older G73JW, and it's really quick. Not only that... it's fairly light for its size. I do plan on adding an SSD to my G73, but bone stock and heavily used it sits it's still faster than M18's that are brand new.
@moose4computers is this an assumption or have you actually owned a m18 for comparison? I notice u didnt say YOUR m18, my brothers asus loads faster than my m17xr3 but on the same game, lets use WoW for example I run 60fps with no hiccup at any time in the game, his hiccups allover the place bouncing from 60fps to 10 with just a couple people casting spells.

I'm comparing it side by side to a M18 that one of my mates owns running DX10 and DX11 games like Crysis and Deus Ex Human Revolution. His M18 is now dead after 3 months, and cost more. I'm guessing your brother has a G73SW or newer? The newer laptops (M18 included) with Sandybridge based chips ALL have the stuttering issue. The fix is to use ThrottleStop. It's a free program that will solve the "hiccups."

As much as i hate alienware that wasnt a fair test. Look at all the shit u have on the desktop of the alien ware, and the alien ware had to run through raid. when the g53j had more or less nothing on desktop compared to alienware

They had a lot more custom options when Dell didn't own the company. i.e. custom paint jobs and not as expensive. Now that Dell owns it, less options and more expensive. But, you can still get an "Alienware" laptop bag... I laugh whenever someone says "Well I got an Alienware"... I ask "What's in it?", they always reply "I don't know, but it's an ALIENWARE".
