  • Packed food always contains preservatives and not really good for health. But in outdoor, you can't have all the ingredients and utensils, so what else to choose? I prefer simple Japanese simmered rice and meat miso paste thus to avoid preservatives but always carry candy bar and chocolate for emergency when I hike.

Tinny, thanks for great advice. I learned to say " Have a great day" naturally from you!

  • i found these reusable papre towels in the store and i put one of those in my kit and it helps alot for drying the container out after you washed it.

  • Tinny, your videos are great, especially when you start to delve into the details of the hiking culture. Though I'm an outdoors person, I'm not a hiker, so it's neat to view into that world of yours. I was also going to make a joke about your long list of "instructions" at the end of your videos like 'have a great day' and 'get out and hike' and 'use one of my stoves' and thought it'd be funny one time to just rattle off like 20 things hehe.

  • love those sporks wish they were a kenny design a little bigger spoon out of metal etc

  • The health of Americans is horrendous, and the main reason is probably our horrendous diet. How much evidence do you need in order to conclude that a theory is almost certainly true? Don't think that a belief is a fallacy because it can't be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Check out the nutritional information by undergroundwellness, joshrubineastwest, mercola, psycehtruth, paulchek on Youtube and then conclude that the belief that processed foods are hazardous is not practically factual.

  • Why buy premade when you can make your own? Processed foods are nasty.

  • I think that is called a dogmatic statement--that would be an assumption stated as a fact.

  • Great video. I add a few drops of bleach to the rinse cycle to help sanitize the dishes.

  • The dish is not in need of sanitizing right after i ate out of it. And if it does need to be sanitized then i am already in trouble because I just at it's contents.

  • Tinny yo ugot me wanting to go get a dehydrator and do some food prep. We need to be prepared for disasters and the like but I ahve found that when threatened by storms we leave as son as told a mandatory evac order is in play and we shoot north and rent a motel. Last storm it was for a week and we came home as soon as the electricity was turned back on. Tinny you have opened the sport of ultra light camping (ULC)to a new generation. Thank you for showing how it really should be done.

  • Check out dehydrate2store. She has great videos on how to dehydrate and store all kinds of fruit and veggies. I am hoping to get a dehydrator this winter.

  • I was wondering, how do you dehydrate hamburger like that?If possible could you make a video on it?

  • theres already a video of it.

  • just be careful. From what I have seen on youtube hamburger can be tricky. If not done properly it can go rancid from the fat.

  • Thanks, Tinny. That's good information.

  • nice video

  • Mountain house meals tast great but I've had stomach discomfort after eating them. Not fun.
