  • add Acts 13.48 "When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed."

the ones appointed to eternal life....appointed means chosen.... and only they believed, no more..

  • John 15:16 - "You didn't choose me. I chose you."

  • Amen to this song....

  • Amen brother

  • I have the choice to follow God, which I do. I serve him every day. I also had stopped serving him for a time. I know many others who have backslidden. There are differing opinions on election. I personally don't believe my loving God would predestine people to eternal suffering. Some do believe that.

  • @jonmarcmondor "for those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He jusstified, He also glorified." Ro.8:29-30. If it is only those whom God foreknew who are predestined to be saved, then it is apparent that everyone else is predestined to remain unsaved and face condemnation.

  • @jonmarcmondor Read the word bro. Ephesian 2:8 "God saved you by His grace when you believed and you cant take credit for this"

Ephesians 3:20 Anything good we do is because of Christ working through us, can we take credit for that? no we cant take credit for anything not even "choosing" Him because we didnt He chose us!

    John 17:6-10 Rest in God

    Proverbs 16:9

    Ephesian 1:11

    Romans 9:10-13

  • @jonmarcmondor Is "your" God only loving?

  • John 6:44 & 65 are clear that we cant come to Him unless He draws (drags in greek) us

  • Predestination is a very biblical doctrine and God bless you guys for having a respectable(might not be a word) debate. The question is how come someone can hear the gospel for years then all of a sudden one it clicks, God' providence is awesome. GREAT DEBATE guys!!!

  • Ah, to further glorify the Father, great question

  • Sufficient for all, efficient for the elect.

  • Not possible, but ACTUAL.

    Amen!

  • Nice reformed lyrics!

  • I love Shai LInne!!!

  • The doctrine of election is all throughout the bible, for example, and you can look these up for yourself, 1 Thes. 1:4, Mat 20:16, 1 Pe. 1:2, Col. 3:12 there many more references than these. Friend, opinions are nice to have, but there is only one truth and that comes from God.

  • In John 14:6 Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 12:48, Jesus says, "The one who rejects Me and does not receive My words has a judge. The word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day." I would encourage you to get into the word and to see what it says.

  • Shai is great but his ideas on election are wrong God died for EVERY1 regardless of if they accept the gift of salvation or not.

  • "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." Mark 16:16

It sounds to me like you may be a universalist- someone who believes that everyone will eventually be saved, regardless of their belief system.

  • Well i'm not and of course what you posted is true because its from the words of God. But did you not see what i said. "regardless if they accept the gift of salvation of not." As in, He died to give EVERYONE, not just an elected few, the same opportunity and chance to believe in Him.

  • Ephesians 1:4-5

"even as he chose you in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ."

  • Indeed, all who believe will be saved. Question, who will believe?

  • Those who choose to believe will be saved.

  • But who will choose to believe?

  • We do of course. We choose to believe when we answer the call. God can't made us believe in Him, if that's what your trying to say. Romans 1: 28

  • He has mercy on whomever he wills and he hardens whomever he wills.

  • Okay. And in that same chapter, Romans 9, what example does he give. The example of Jacob and Esau. "Jacob I have loved but Esau I have hated." verse 13. Why? Is it because God just decided to love one and hate the other?

  • Read verses 11-13

  • Well does that mean that you're a better chooser than the people around you? And if you choose him, then that means that you deserve grace because you were smart enough to choose. That kind of neutralizes the idea of grace. That means you can take some extent of glory because you were wise enough to turn from sin.

  • Grace is an absolute. Choosing has nothing to do with it, "There is none who seeks for God" Ro.3:11. Those who believe are "born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God" Jn.1:13. Is it not God who by the power of His Spirit draws us to Christ, grants us repentence and transforms our hearts and renews our minds? Sovereign grace is irrefutable, and God gets all of the glory. Soli Deo Gloria!

  • Praise God! SDG!

  • So what are you saying, when given the choice to follow God or Satan, we can't choose who to serve? Is God going to make us serve the devil if He wants? Well then, that kinda cancels out the loving part of God, does it not? What about John 3:16 and many other verses?

  • "The thing molded will not say to the molder, 'Why did you make me like this,' will it? Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured w/ much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory" Ro.9:20-23

  • No. You're taking john 3:16 love out of context. He loves all of the world in that he created the world to exult in and glorify him. But he does not love all people the same way. He loves his elect differently than the world.

  • Haha what did I get a thumbs down for?

  • I never said anything about deserving grace because, yes, that would neutralize the idea of grace. That's our only job, to choose to serve God or Satan. By not choosing God, we automatically choose the devil. Those who choose the gift of Jesus' death on the cross get HIS righteousness as if it was our own. We don't deserve ANYTHING from God. Every blessing comes from choosing to obey Him.

  • @Rhuanjl the elect bro! amen and amen

  • Its funny that those who hold to a universal atonement are actually universalists without knowing it!

  • what do you base this on??

  • Great song. This guy is more theological than most pastors these days, better yet laymen.

    God bless.

  • Awesome truth.

  • amen!!!

  • I cannot get over the genius in the lyrics and presentation. I write songs and poems and strive to tell a story that touches the heart and mind, this does just that. What a great vehicle to present the truth of the accomplished and applied redemption by the blood. Thank you!
