My boy Moss ( black lab ) used to do this in a pool, was such fun to see. For those non-Lab owners the reason why they can do it is because they have 'webbed' paws, if you check between each claw you will find an interconnecting skin layer which gives their paws the 'webbed' effect, they were originally bred to help Fishermen recover fish in Newfoundland and their paws have evolved over time. My Moss was a good diver, but not as good as India!! Great vid!

@MrPorkydanjou I have a Samoyed. If I ever allowed her to do this, I would be looking at a week of medication to stop the ear infection not to mention it takes her a full 12 hours to dry off period.

.tically programed to do this for hundreds of years, impressive! but all you lab owners who let there fat ass dogs lay on there couch and all over there beds and stay in the house all day should be ashamed. It still is an animal that needs to do what it is programed to do, not be a (human). nice vid glad to see that your lab does not weigh 300 pounds like probably most of theses yuppies in the comments.

Holy crap! And here I thought my Lab was all so very awesome (for her swimming & launching abilities) but dang, yo, we sorta suck now. Ha ha. And, our max submersion record prob isn't even 2.5 feet. I am hugely impressed by this. Well done! Curious: Did he learn from watching you dive routinely after the toy (I mean, did you perform repetitively for this purpose and have this retrievable as the only water toy available for his play?)
