I am someone who identifies himself as a Christian, but I belong to no organized religion, I do not go to a church (the word itself means "group of people worshipping"), nor do I tithe. I do give from time to time when I can afford it to needy people.... not an organized charity. I agree with the "Mega Church" and rip-off type preachers needing to be cut off from thier sources of funding, but the small churches deserve more respect. Look at those who came down after Katrina and helped us out!!!

Studies show that atheism and agnosticism is on the rise (probably because science is increasingly disproving religious texts as time goes on).

I consider "entertainment" as a religion. People will sleep on the sidewalk spend days standing in line to buy a ticket to go to a superbowl game or a music concert, now that's fanaticism. I knew a guy that quit his job because he couldn't get the night off to go to a heavy metal concert, now that's fanaticism. The money is used to help people in the poorest parts fix thier lives from the inside out .I don't believe religion is the problem the love of money is! The Churches that have joined forces with Kings(Governments) to gain excesses will be destroyed according to the same religions own holy book. Rev. 17 explains the destruction of religions tied to governments and corporations(Traveling Merchants), and it goes on to say the governments and corporations will weep at the waste because the money being lost for religions.
