the reason why you go to the bottom of the "pit" is because you have to put together another string of good fights to get back to the title they wont have you fight some good ass guy and then get a title shot right after you have to wait your turn like everyone else did before you, and tito has lost like 4 times in a row
Rashad Evans is OVERRATED. He isn't good at FIGHTING. He is really good at STALLING. He hops around and runs away against dangerous guys like Rampage and Silva. Machida made him look like the garbage. After that he completely changed his style to 100% safe mode. He pushes people into the cage and "works" for take downs for the entire round. None of that is fighting. Rashad works for a takedown (usually getting stuffed) but b4 the end of the round he'll get one takedown and steal the round.
I think tito is a great fighter, it's just that most everybody hates him and wants him to lose. He's definitely underrated, but I do think there's more to it than that.
i think that randy is one of the most underated fighters now now with his age everyone thinks that he ll lose in his fights but has only lost a few in his long career
Actually, his record is disappointing for someone of his status. I wouldn't say he's underrated, I would say he's leaning towards the opposite. Sure, he's has great wrestling, though Nog made him look amateur on the ground. But his standup, it's deceiving. He bob and weaves, but he isn't nearly fast enough for it and gets caught all the time.
Anyways, I like Rashad being on there because he's one of my favorite fighters, but I don't really think he's discredited THAT much.
i argree that the fact that randys standup isnt great but hes a greko roman wrestler which means he likes to get on the cage get in the clinch and stay there until he wants to slam
Solid list guys. OK here's one for you, and please keep in mind that I am friends with the guy... Alan Belcher- Beats Ed Herman Beats Denis Kang Fights Yoshihiro Akiyama to a draw... Ed Herman fights Demien Maia Denis Kang gets Michael Bisping Akiyama gets Wandy And Belcher? He gets Wilson Gouveia.... What gives there? I think if he beats Gouveia, he should see a top five middleweight his next fight. What do you think?
I don't think Wilson Gouveia is that big of a step down at all. The guy just fought Marquardt who is ready for another title shot. When you start fighting old TUF alumni, you've dropped down quite a bit.
I agree Belcher doesn't get a lot of love from the UFC :(, but I still think he lost to Akiyama. Still you gotta love his old-school Muay Thai.
However I agree with Os and McCarty, Wilson is a solid fighter who likes to bang, now if they had put Belcher up against someone like C.B Dollaway( TUF Alumni ftw :D) I'd worry.
We didn't know you had made a video on this? Sorry bro. We'll check out your channel to make sure we don't copy too much. If we do, you'll get mad credit.
Tito beat Forrest via split decision. If you THOUGHT he never fought Forrest, what you do is you look it up online. Then you learn you're wrong, and then you get a little bit smarter. Read first, speak second
Fabricio Werdum is massively overrated. He loses to one unknown fighter who has gone on to become "the next big thing" in the division and now he is totally forgotten about as a top heavyweight
Person who was the underdog in his title defense: Matt Serra before GSP came in and beat him for the belt, he was concidered the underdog even after he beat GSP
It's hilariously ironic that you mentioned Machida in a list of "entertaining" fighters when he's only been appreciated by the crowd since the T.Silva fight AND he always fights to win and not to entertain pseudo-fans. I'd even prefer if Machida was still seen as "boring" because too many ppl hopped on the bandwagon when he won the belt.
Also, I agree about Tito, he could still get to a title shot IMHO.
Rashad is a Ultimate fighter coach. and will get big fights like a reamtch with Tito.there is no way he is under estimated.or underrated.Titos mouth got him in trouble and he is a really good fighter and has been considered.
i think its fine if a guy always take people down and beat on them so long as they finish them, like lesnar in the Mir fight not like in the herring fight.
If Gray Maynard showed any kind of interest in actually finishing fights instead of purposely trying to score points to ride out a decision he would get more love. Gray deserves to be ignored until he atleast tries to take guys out
Dana actually tried to sign him but gegard already was signed to fight babalu and still wanted to fight him so he went to strikeforce and won the belt but mousasi has said that he wants to come to the ufc but he is no hurry.
The only underdog champ i can think of was in strikeforce, in the light heavyweight, bobby southworth was the champ who was fighting babalu, i think the odds were something like 3 to 1 for babalu.
I would love to see swick fight daley in the future
Everybody's an underdog against Lyoto. I'd say that Rich Franklin was an obvious underdog when he defended his middle-weight belt against Anderson Silva. Love Rich though.
Evans is a great fighter. He certainly didn't win any fans when he beat the hell out the UFC's boy scout Forrest Griffin, but if your a fight fan then you can't help but respect his all around skillz...head kick KO, one punch vicious KO(liddell), and showed that he can tough out a decision in several fight. But when you KO two biggest fan favs in UFC (forrest and liddell) then you tend 2 get booed.
yhea id agree with all thoze exspecialy rashad! ive been sayin for a whiles that hes underated. honestly i dont thank grays that good and i thank hell get sestroyed in against any top names... but the rest can mos def hold there own. as far as some other names i wouldent count them underrated nessiasarily but id say theyre gonna be good and should be looked at! efrain escuero jon jones tyson griffon yushin okomi.these fighter can and will be able to hang with the very best but dont get the propz
I hate Tito Ortiz. I really hope he is put in his place when he comes back to the UFC.... again. Honestly lets not get ahead of ourselves here talking about him and Machida, he still has to fight Coleman.... Thats not a complete guaranteed win for Tito.
As far as HW's, Cain Velasquez (spelling?) seems to be fighting for his life to get a shot at someone in the top three. Just because he doesn't weigh 265 pounds DOES NOT MEAN HE IS NOT A DANGEROUS HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTER. But Carwin and Lesnar seem to be the standards as far as that thing goes and that is a shame. I snuck into Jared's backyard and watched him take a bubble bath today. I had no idea they we're still making Mr. Bubble.
gray maynard is a champion n the making , mike swick 4 me is overrated & i agree that rashad evans is underrated , i actually think that he s the most underrated fighter n the ufc along with brock lesnar & diego sanchez , so way to go i cant agree with u more :)
josh burkman isnt a nobody no1 in the ufcs a nobody. jonathan goulets not a nobody. david loseau was 1 of the top contenders when he fought swick but about everyelse he fought wasnt that good
ANTHONY JOHNSON is underated to me, hard to talke down and will ko u, ok he loss by submission but he had the fight late notice and loss to kevin burns and we all seen that fight
You guys mention him, Yushin Okami. I think he's underrated because he's 7-1 in the UFC, beat one of the fighters you guys mentioned in Mike Swick, but Okami is a boring fighter. Yeah, most of his fights go to decision but he's a quality fighter. He's been up in the top 3 rankings in WW for quite a while now so, I give him his props.
man great i was like mike swick is unnderated for sure and you agreed i was like hes been knocking people out left and right and still hasnt gotten a shot at the title
yeah on the ufc website they have Swick vs Dan "The UFC's Other British Posterboy" Hardy. and they said that the winner of that is the #1 contender (which I think is some bull crap)
