I know someone who had a 89 Cherokee 4.0 I6, and a 93 Grand Cherokee 5.2L V8. They had more more problems with that 93 Grand Cherokee than the 89 Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee was more of a luxury model with all those problematic electrical toys which leads to costly repairs. The 89 Cherokee was not.
I guess the Jeeps have pretty bulletproof differentials in them. If i was going to buy an used SUV i would consider a older Cherokee with the 4.0L I6.
I see. My dad says they got some oddball expensive parts.. but then again what doesn't? maybe a taurus cause they are so common but... oh well. My neighbor and father say they have a lot of issues.. i know not much of them myself.
Oh man look at all them mowers! I wish I was there. I would have bid on one of those mower bodies, mine's got a good engine but the body is falling apart lol

The straight 6 cylinder 4.0L Jeeps are pretty reliable. I myself would stay away from the V8 Grand Cherokee models.
