This is so well produced for an Internet show, kudos, it's about the funniest damn show since seinfeld. If this were on TV I would watch it. There are two problems with this. First, I know Western religion really well. Others, not so much. Second, I just don't think my audience is familiar with those other characters/religions either. And unfortunately, comedy relies on the familiar, which is why comedy doesn't often translate cross culturally very well. But when I've exhausted the current supply of characters from the Western religions, I'll certainly look into it. Thanks. B

I think a nice clean cut (single chop style -- no Al Qaeda-style) with a sharp blade (make sure Larry's got your back), is the clear winner. This is so well produced for an Internet show, kudos, it's about the funniest damn show since seinfeld. If this were on TV I would watch it. There are two problems with this. First, I know Western religion really well. Others, not so much. Second, I just don't think my audience is familiar with those other characters/religions either. And unfortunately, comedy relies on the familiar, which is why comedy doesn't often translate cross culturally very well. But when I've exhausted the current supply of characters from the Western religions, I'll certainly look into it. Thanks. B

I think a nice clean cut (single chop style -- no Al Qaeda-style) with a sharp blade (make sure Larry's got your back), is the clear winner. If you've read anything about being burned at the stake, you know it's slow-roasting. I guess that was to give the wicked a taste of what was coming -- eternal fire. The bible, and all other religious scripture, is man made. It's painfully obvious. If there are creator(s) of the universe, and if it/ they decided to write a book, I should think that it would be far better in prose and wisdom than the man made ones. They're all pretty weak, clearly the products of their time and culture. Oddly enough, the best religious writings are Buddhist, which are admittedly man made. Personal opinion. Also, I might add, they don't incite any violence. :D

Actually, the founding fathers derived a great deal of inspiration from the Romans and Greek. Greece is the birthplace of democracy. Further, have you ever read any of the founding documents during the debate of the constitution? They all used Latin pseudonyms of famous roman senators and authors. Marriage isn't static, it has been redefined hundreds of times over the past centuries. There was a time when interracial marriage was illegal. For most of human history Marriage was a property arrangement where the wife belonged to the husband.
Further, within the purview of the US Govtt, marriage is simply a legal contract. It has nothing to do with what religion, if any, ordains it.
A church might give that special consideration, but the Govt doesn't.

Marriage was last redefined in 1967 by the supreme court which outlawed anti-miscegenation laws. And actually, most states had some version of anti-miscegenation laws, but most repealed them before the supreme court decision.
That is all irrelevant though, because it shows marriage has changed over time. As society has realized that way in which its laws are enacted are immoral, it has changed them.
As for civil unions; Brown v Board of Education; "Separate but equal is unconstitutional."

There are entire fields of study that work to examine human reproduction, gender studies, and human sexuality. The Kinsey Institute is one of the most famous. Intercourse literally means, "Between two people, so sexual intercourse means sex between two people.
Again, this doesn't matter, because you just made allowances for people who can't procreate to get married. If you are making allowances for people who are sick, or old, denying gay people is unequal protection under the law.

Just because you want to define sex as only occurring between a man and a woman during vaginal sex doesn't make it so. Even the definition you ripped straight from Wikipedia said "Commonly" It didn't say scientifically. You can't substitute your opinion for the fact the society doesn't agree.

Anal sex and Oral sex both fall under the heading of sexual intercourse. To go back to the Wikipedia article you quoted earlier.

The above falls under the heading of "In Humans".

1. Not all women are even born with hymens.
2. Not all hymens are even breakable. Some just stretch.
3. First vaginal sex is not always the hymen breaks. Some gals break it before then intentionally, some by just intense physical activities, like sports.
4. Beyond the archaic definition of "purity" to mean an intact hymen, there is nothing special about having/losing virginity. Saying a guy is a virgin with vaginal sex is just a statement of inexperience. Like saying "I'm a virgin at skiing."

Could the planet survive without homosexuals? I have no idea, maybe, but it doesn't matter, because the illegality of something isn't determined by the rubric of "promotes reproduction". If that were so, surely garlic would outlawed for discouraging kissing. You seem to think that because it isn't required, it is alright to make it illegal and that isn't how the law works. Being important for reproduction doesn't make something superior in the eyes of the law. A couple that can reproduce has no more rights than a couple that can't. A gay couple is simply the latter.

Marriage has nothing to do with procreation in modern America. Plenty of people get married and never have kids, and plenty of people have kids and don't get married.
Can't you at least admit to that fact?
