  • Omg Bette in Joan's role as Anna! o.o I had no clue she'd done this film for radio!

  • Wow, I had no idea she did a radio performance of this Joan Crawford movie. Actually this was apparently a remake of a Swedish movie starring Ingrid Bergman. I think a prefer Crawford's performance. She played it hard as nails. Davis sounds a bit too posh and more clipped than I've ever heard her.

  • Love this, love Bette!

  • I have just seen the film with Joan Crawford and I actually loved it. My DVD had this radio performance and listening to it I thought it would have been a very different film if Bette had have played Anna. They were both great though! :)

  • That's great. Where in Australia were you able to find the DVD of "A Woman's Face"?

  • Ha! Wasn't! I got my DVD off Amazon. It was a box set of 5 Joan Crawford films.

  • Sweet! I was able to buy 2 Bette Davis box-sets from JB but they don't have any Joans. Those F#cK3@s!

  • Ooooh which BD box sets did you get? I could only find one in JB. The one with The Letter, Now Voyager, Mr. Skeffington & Dark Victory. I looked for Joan ones but yeah.... Those F*%$#@s! Amazon is my life source! Lol! :)

  • My Dad scored "Strait-Jacket" & "Sudden Fear" off Amazon for me. The other box set of BD is called The Bette Davis Collection {same title as the other one} & has "All About Eve", The Anniversary", "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte", The Nanny" & "The Virgin Queen". 5 separate DVDs in a box with a photo of Bette as Margo Channing {Tallulah} running her hand through her hair {on her head}. It was bought about 3 years ago for $60 at JB.

  • How wonderful to hear Conrad Veidt on the radio! Thank you for posting this gem!

  • I got the chills, what a great performance... I would have loved to see her in that part instead of Joan Crawford!!!

  • How amazing; Davis and Veidt on radio. Incredible to think these film stars doing radio. I am curious to think how the film version would have been with Davis in the lead...thanks for posting!
