"It would set an example for nuclear countries and for countries that are considering going nuclear, like Iran and north Korea. Those nukes belong to the taxpayers and now he wants to weaken us infront of the world to make us weaker. How about selling the Chicoms some carriers? Building supplies for energy efficiency translates to windows/ doors and insulation, all of which can be installed by the average homeowner. There may be a few jobs that are created for installers, but by and large the very building supply companies can do this work with their existing workforce so I see a minimal impact to employment/unemployment from this.

The bil, for the TARP funds plainly states, that money cannot be used for anything other than bailing out the banks. Which means that once it was passed the federal government was able to own banks in the U.S., by the way of stock purchases. FDIC, every bank that is insured by this is now owned partly by the U.S. government.

Some people can't see the Recovery Act is creating even more jobs? We allocated money for this kind of infrastructure investment to offset the recession.

Use your brains people, if you believe statements like "WH uses more power than LA" you are doomed to be a puppet to special interests (see "Critical Thinking" vs. FoxNews).

IMO, This is another solid step toward recovery. I hope our economy continues to pick up steam and this can only further help.

What they don't tell you is that when you factor in, people who have stopped out of looking for jobs, people who have settled for part-time jobs, and people who have been recieving extended benefits, the actual numbers are closer to 18-20% in the U.S.

The only place where jobs have been created is the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Maybe we can all get on Obama's payroll. Maybe that will solve unemployment

What happened to the "green jobs" in Michigan? The ones that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT stepped in and gave to the prison system. Thereby taking away jobs that the residents of Michigan needed. Doesn't he realize that the manufacturers and the stores could possibly raise the prices for these products to still maintain there profit margin, which this would be cutting into. It's a good idea, but I think that it is almost impractical.

That's because there's no demand for these products.. They're not cost effective.. Forcing these products is not good for the economy!

If the demand was there, then other countries (China) would produce them..

Remember the stimulus that was sucked up by the trans continent free trade agreement... So we could say only by american... this is a better approach to the problem...
