  • that knife is legal in the uk but you can only use it for camping/ hunting and stuff like that but your not allowed to carry it in public. just to let you know.

  • that knife sucks dick

  • @BMXrider1445 mainly yours?

  • he's from holland! XD he has an dutch accent. Just like me.

  • Man, if you are so much into clips, why did you not simply buy this very same model WITH a clip??? It is called Wenger New Ranger 61 clip

  • @martinATmagix you gotta try before you know what you like...

  • I prefer this, I need the corkscrew and I hate serrated blade - so much trouble to sharpen..If you like the serrated blade and cross driver, go to victorinox, I believe they have such model.

  • this is probably the only good wenger, i prefer victorinox as they have a bigger range and i think they have better quality

  • Wenger>victorinox

  • I have the victorinox forester, and I find the wegner is easier to use. probably the victorinox is better quality, but it doesnt work as fast

  • I thought this was called the "ranger". Did they change the name or something?

  • @SumDuDe34 There might be difference in names used in Europa vs USA. But it is called the Newranger here.

  • whoa that's a cool closing mechanism

  • Hello, does it have a blade play then locked open?

  • @retal06 Just a fraction: it's hardly noticeable. For a cheap knife it's well-build.

  • @wrolblogcom thank you

  • Love the blade shape and grind... Not to Wenger... its 2010.... Please replace the basically useless corkscrew with a phillips driver on this model...

Thin blades slice better and are easier to sharpen... that blade would work well doing food prep and cutting chores.... In the real world you dont need prybar think blades to do the things a knife is used for 99 percent of the time... Butcher knives are almost always under 1/8th {3mm} blade thckness for a reason..

  • @rainmechanic I agree: for most camping chores this is a good knife, which is why I placed it in that imaginary category :-)

And yeah: the corkscrew should be replaced with a phillips driver: that would make more sense :-)

For an EDC knife I do like a smaller (< 4" ) but thicker blade, possibly serrated. I have a Boker Plus Armed Forces I Tanto folder that's my most used EDC knife together with a Gerber Ridge.

  • @wrolblogcom

yeah im not a fan of serated blades myself........ Dont suppose you could tell me the model number of the Wenger Ranger like this one that also includes the Saw Blade ?

  • @rainmechanic look at the rangergrip 78. It's this knife, but it's red, and has black grip spots on it. It also has a screwdriver instead of the corkscrew.

  • I can open it left handed...you gotta get your nail in the hole, and "pry" it. It's not as hard as it sounds.

  • @bluesy92 Good to hear. Thanks for the additional info. Still, I think its easier for us "righties". Still think the ergonomics are a bit of that way.
