  • King Chanticleer was composed by A. Seymour Brown (lyric) and Nat D. Ayer (music) in 1910. As Kiddman says it often popped up in Warner Bros. cartoons and even sung by Doris Day in W.Bros' "On Moonlight Bay". (or was it in "By the light of the silvery moon"?)

  • For those of you who may be thinking, "Now, WHERE have I heard this tune before?"...

At the opening of just about any Old West barroom scene in Warner Bros. cartoons, this would be playing, usually on "ricky-tick" piano.

Imagine: Daffy kick thru the batwing doors, this tune is playing, then, "Dripalong Daffy's the name, and I aims ta take over this one-horse town!"

    :)

  • By the Way...What is the title of this swinging tune?

  • "King Chanticleer" is the song title.

Nice to hear from you, and I hope life is treating you well!

    Tom

  • I really like this one! It reminds me of a steamboat race. Faster faster! Thanks, Allen Dale.

  • THANX.
