Being an 80's/early 90's kid and mid-late 90's teenager was awesome don't you think? how old were you when you saw this movie? i was 7 saw it 2 times and also saw Scrooged and Oliver and Company 3 times. Did you see this and those 2 in theaters back in 88 as well?
80's kid here who also grew up as a kid in the early 90's! I saw LBT 2 times when i lived in Omaha Nebraska as well as seeing Scrooged in theaters and Oliver and Company 3 times, i had some LBT merchandise including these from Pizza Hut and had them all when i was 7.
I remember having all of those as a kid. Then one of our dogs chewed the feet and hands off one of them. Funny someone mentioned the way they smelled, lol, I remember it too!
I had the Duckie and Spike puppets, and you're right, they did have a very distinct smell to them! If you blindfolded me and made me sniff one of them, I could tell you right away what it is lol.
I was about to post something to that effect. They smelled kind of sweet, and they were hard as hell to move because the rubber they were made out of was so thick.
@1whatever69: I TOTALLY remember that. I can't even describe that smell. It was sort of...it reminded me of those scented dolls they used to sell back then, except they didn't smell like any particular fruit or candy. It was just this overall kind of sweet smell.
@1whatever69 YES that smell...it was like a sweet vanilla but plastic-y smell. it's weird, i don't think i've smelled it since but i can still remember exactly what it smelled like.
Back then I would use to ride my bike with my friends to Pizza Hut and then to the movies. I remember I got the Littlefoot toy when we went to see the movie first time it went out on theaters. Damn I miss the 80's.
When Littlefoot says, "Now we'll always be together." I don't remember that in the movie. A deleted scene. I know there are some, but are they available anywhere?
The only reason I'm here is to catch that brief deleted footage near the beginning. Thumbs up if you are too.

I lived across the street from a Pizza Hut when they were doing this. I had Duckie, Spike, Cera and Sharptooth.
darla1aeryn1fan 8 months ago
I had all the puppets. Now days Pizza Hut would charge $9.99 for a puppet. LoL
I was an eighties kid and I can't believe how things have gone down hill. I'd hate to be a kid now.

Apparently Petrie was worthless in the eyes of Pizza Hut.

@1whatever69 Yes! It's weird what sticks in your mind from being a kid. As soon as I saw this ad I thought of the smell of these things.

WHERE'S PETRIE?!
ReijiAzuma 4 years ago 2
Maybe he didn't make a very good puppet? They probably had a Petrie proto-type at the distributor that never came out right.
ExplorerDS6789 3 years ago
But I own Petrie! He was blue, not brown like in the film, but it was definitely him.
ReijiAzuma 3 years ago
He must have come out later.
ExplorerDS6789 3 years ago
And was Petrie originally going to be blue?
aceattorney1989 3 years ago
nope they made a petrie cuz i have all of these puppets in the garage in a box.lol

He must have come out later on.
ExplorerDS6789 3 years ago
Yeah, he came out a little bit later with Sharptooth. I'm not sure why they didn't sell all the puppets at the same time though.

Haha, I had one of those!
