  • Nice to hear commentators having a good time :-)

  • interesting to know that this was the last game santoro won in the entire match.

    yes, the last game :O

  • Excelent!

  • Hahahahaha it's a Grand Slam quarterfinal, he's already beaten the 8th and 11th seeded players in the draw and is STILL toying with his opponents... priceless!!!

No wonder the hot-headed (but still great) Marat Safin had no nerves to handle this... ;)

  • VAMO DAVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • does he just tap?

  • Fabrice and Daniela in the same doubles team in Roland Garros 2005... that is a dream team for me... and they won!!!

  • Okay, okay,it's useless to speak with you unless you learn the meaning of "feel" and "talent",and hell yeah Santoro won all his matches(against all great players) just hitting the ball,if you think that your pathetic .And sir i have 15 years of tennis behind me so (and it's my last answer to you) just stop watching robotic players.bye bye

  • crazy commentator, fantastic laugh :D

  • by far my fave tennis player

  • @wizzie47 you never play tenis, you just a poor idiot...

  • @tataso I played tennis for nearly 20 years. Just saying...

Tennis is not always a question of power.

  • tataso> You sir have no brain activity, if you can recognize that maybe there is a hope to learn you real tennis...

  • @zakkounet poor boy who never played tennis, santoro deform all the shots is more not even had the drive. Playing tennis does not mean grab a racquet and hit as you want. The blows are established and there is a technique. But of course that shit you'll know if you're a delayed puber

  • It's a shame Nalbandian didn't go after that 3rd dropshot !

  • @ukjacklondon SPOT ON !

  • He's one of the only tennis players that you can call an artist :)

  • i love that short man

  • Nalbandian disliked this!!

  • Don't get me wrong, I love Nalbandian... but he needs to have more fun on the court. Most players would smile after that point, but Nalbandian seemed really tense after that point.

  • Santoro could have been a very gud defensive player! too bad the guy knowss only freestyle and lacks proper tennis play

  • Santoro = ANTI TENNIS

  • @tataso skill and touch is "anti tennis"? Really?

  • @wizzie47 Yes, Santoro never played tennis, he has no one correct hit, the deformed every shot is a clown

  • @tataso Then you're not a connoisseur. Pity.

  • nalbandian let him have his fun, then raped him the next 2 sets.

  • YOU CANNOT OUTTRICK THE MAGICIAN =D

  • @Barbosssssss Unless your name is Federer

  • Super! Fabrice is Magician. I am so happy to play with him in two weeks :))) Exhibitiona game in Warsw!!!!

  • I don't think is THAAAT funny but the commentators makes it a lil bit funny

  • People dont realize how much having those great touch shots like that makes a difference, if i play tennis against someone with a superior base line game in singles i purposely hit shots like that to keep them off balance and it works very well. I wish more points were like this not so boring base line shots back and forth.

  • the magician! haha well for those asking if he won Major titles, I will remind them that he did in doubles... can't say the same about a lot of top ATP players! And that will make him a candidate for Hall of Fame

  • @FREUKY That explains his play style, perfect for doubles. I bet he would eat these people alive with a decent doubles partner like him.

  • I got the best laugh of my life because of the commentator laugh ahajajajajajajajajahjahjahjahjahjahja

  • drop lob drop lob drop...I tried it in in my club but no one like it.

  • fucking overrated slores

  • I loved Santoro because he had fun when he played.. he really enjoyed what he did. Now, it doesn't seem like many players really enjoy just being on the court and having the opportunity to play.

  • how the hell did he beat ferrer???

  • @hattrickster33 in 2006 ferrer wasnt good yet. he will come out in 2007 by wining lots of tournaments...

  • @hattrickster33 The same way he beat a lot of good players.

  • @hattrickster33 Forget Ferrer, Santoro has a winning record over Marat Safin!

  • @nonindividual, I once read that Safin said that being told he was to be playing Fabrice was like he was told he was gonna die.

  • @APH1991 lololol NO!!! man he said `for me, going to the dentist is even worse than playing fabrice santoro`

  • This guy won any Grand Slam title? Any Masters 1000 or Cup.....

  • @Leonardoeditor37 he was just a ghost

  • lol nalby didn't find that hilarious

  • santoro is the beeeest !:D

  • title fail.

  • enculé

  • anti- #fail

  • Hes such an underrated player

  • 'You cannot out-trick the magician.'C'est vrai ca!Grande Santoro!Te echaremos mucho de menos.

  • nalby definitely didn't like that.

  • der junge geht ja krass ab ich find vor allem so geil, dass die die vor- und die rückhand mit 2 händen spielt ;P

    The Magician

  • lmao...that had to be annoying as hell, I'd be tired after one point

  • "You can't outtrick the Magician." Anti-#FAIL

  • @isselman2000 Anti- #FAIL

  • "...you can't outtrick the magician" haha nice

  • "...you can't outtrick the magician" nice

  • LOL! Gotta love him~!

  • He was born in Papeete, Tahiti ( :French Polynesia ) in 1972 where his parents were teachers.

Know as " Fabulous Fab " , Fabrice now retired from tennis , was a peculiar, tricky, resourceful player in spite of a modest size and weight ( 1m72, 72kgs ).

He will be sadly missed !!!

    From Angers, France.

  • Fabrice Santoro started his carreer in 1989 , ended it up last january at the Australian Open.

  • It's really sad to see players like Santoro retired.

  • why did he only reach 18

  • he doesn't have a big enough forehand to hit enough winners and you can't win all your points by trickery....but it does work

  • andy murrays fav player

  • the magician..

  • amortie lob amortie lob amortie !!! ahah

  • I love watching Santoro, what a legend!

  • My idol.

  • I love Fred Stolle cracking up here. :-)

  • sukkels

  • This is why everyone loves to play him unless its an important match. Hes fun but he doesnt make it easy.

  • who won this

  • Nalbandian won, 7-5 6-0 6-0

  • those latinos, always bad-mannered

  • jaja, I told him as saying, is what makes an animal, it was nothing against anyone, understand there is to know no more, hug

  • haha, what a point

the famous drop-shot lob combo, santoro does it like nobody else

  • as the 'between legs'

  • Nalbandian could have smacked one of those dropshots that didn't drop that low.. he was just in the wrong mentality trying to play Santoro's game.

  • In fact he's a brillant 70's-tennis-style player who's born 20 years to late

  • that's why he's called THE MAGICIAN

  • this guy is the oldest on tour i think.. yet still so good.. and is absolute pleasure to watch. He is retiring soon i think?

  • he retired after his defeat in the us open this year

  • Nalbadian got pwned

  • Cue Benny Hill theme.

  • Santoro's game is not about power, speed, serve etc. It's just ONLY talent and skill/touch and that's I like very much about his way to play.

    To bad he retired :(

  • he hasnt retired yet, hes got the rest of 09

  • I think santoro's game is all about entertaining. He does a darn fine job of entertaining. He's not winning so well, but he's entertaining great.

  • maybe we'll se him at the paris open, if his rank allow it, or let's hope for a wild card

  • i would think he would get one

  • @Daviddd1986 Alex Higgins of tennis.

  • FABRICE OLE

for him its more fun to make u look stupid then win the match XD

  • Classic Santoro point!

  • you tennis ignorant

  • "santoro is a mediocre player unable to challenge the top players"

well this shows that you know nothing about santoro (and maybe about tennis)

At 35 he can beat top 10 yet (Roddick - Djokovic - Blake - Youzhny)

  • "santoro is a mediocre player"

well i believe in you dude, you talking shit about him on youtube, you cant be wrong.

    asshole

by the way he kicked djokovic ass in 2007 after djoko was runner up in the us open.

  • agreed santoro is amazing in fact any player in the top 100 is very very good

  • and thinks he stayed in the top 50 all his career (or almost), even these last years (he's 36)

during 20 years he manage to evolve his tennis to survive in our monster-stroke era

  • Bullshit ! Look at the video ! In this AO he has beaten Gaudio a top 10 at the time, then Ferrer in 3 sets. He is now 36 years old... and no34 !

  • he's a clown, right...that's why he's beaten the likes of (let me list them): connors, wilander, courier, edberg, becker, muster, agassi, moya, kuerten, safin, hewitt, ferrero, sampras and federer

  • Sorry if I'm wrong, but he's beaten every number 1 player in the world since 1995. I think thats challenging the top players in the world, ESPECIALLY considering he's a doubles player.

  • he is the king

  • I LOVE SANTORO

  • I'm going to really miss Santoro. He has been so entertaining to watch. I know he's never been one of the best but damn is he fun to watch. You can tell the man just loves to play and he throws himself into every second he's out there.

  • i always love watching him play

  • Respect to you SANTORO!

  • Grande Fabrice the magician!!!

  • i fucking love santoro

  • lol that was a long time ago

  • Fabrice tu es un génie !

  • Que the Benny Hill theme.

  • i like fabrice santoro's unique style too because i sortof played like it myslef alwayse slicing it and stuff

  • I LOVE Santoro's unique style, he defeated the best players of the game (17 world#1 from Becker, Edberg, Agassi, Sampras to el maestro Federer). He stayed 2 decades in the ATP top 100, how can some of you say he sucks, I wish I was one of the 100 best in my field one year only!! Give him some credits. Pistol Pete himself gave him his "magician" nickname! Safin at his best (who lost 7 times against him) said "Being told I would play Santoro was being told I was to die." One word for you: RESPECT!

  • Gaudio won a point against Santoro in this same tournament a lot better than this. Looked it up, is worth watching.

  • was this his best slam result?

    if not what was?

  • what an freaking funny pattern, drop-lob-drop-lob-drop xD

  • lo traia como calzon de puta, de arriba para abajo jaja

  • sontoro is so entertaining

  • The commentators make the point priceless.

  • damn, that lady has as much milk as Santoro has talent

  • who is a better magician

    bahrami

    or

    santoro?!

  • lol look at the fat line judge person at 0:41

  • ahaha look at her!

  • Humble, sympa et tellement agréable de suivre ses matchs. santoro est un géant !

  • Cool, classy, honest, daring, SANTORO RULES ! Tennis is such a thrill when you are around, Fabrice...

  • santoro would seem like a fun guy to play against, and he is the magician!

  • c'est magnifique

  • i love santoro

such a classy guy on the court. lol

  • we're not here to compare, we're here to admire and enjoy

  • Demasiado tenis para Nalbandian.

  • Comment removed

  • omg lol

  • Fabrice Santoro truly is the magician - one of the most entertaining players on the circuit. If he had more power in his groundstrokes and serve he'd a top 10.

  • I don't think he even cares about it.

  • santoro is SICK

  • Man its a pity they had to play eachother because both of these guys are really good. I love watching both of them play.

  • xDDDD That was hilarious. Drop shot. Lob. Drop shot. Lob. Drop shot. xD Skillllll. That was great. xD

  • Please anyone upload a clip of Santoro playing doubles. There not even one on YouTube, and he's supposed to be more of a doubles player. So please!

  • We don't get this type of entertainment anymore. We need more Fabrice.

  • Nalbandian had some horrible shot making there.

  • Yeah, I agree. Whatever happened to the sky lob? If he had hit it, worst case he would have had time to recover and best case, he could have moved Santoro off the net if he hit it deep enough. Santoro is too smart to pass at the net when his opponent is scrambling backwards. That was a brain cramp on Nalbandian's part, but it was fun to watch. You don't get too many opportunities to jerk a player around the court like that. He had him on a string.

  • who won this match

  • Nalbandian - he then became a victim on Baghdatis' hit list.

  • nalbandian, 3 sets

  • Nalbandian won, the score was 7-5 6-0 6-0 I think

  • Santoro made him run on every point, very clever.

  • Me encanta ver a Santoro. Es un placer muy grande. No me importa si gana o si pierde. Lo disfruto igual.

  • This rally was very similar to the Rally with Federer and Hewitt, just that that rally was longer.

  • commentators got a wierd laugh lolz

  • can i see well ? He eliminated Federer ? Reply please

  • No , it's not Federer he has eliminated Ferrer.

  • Truly an incredible player. One of my favorites to watch....but keep in mind that in 20 years on the tour, he has ONLY won 5 tournaments.....

  • But in doubles he won 2 Australian Opens.

  • OK, but as this was a singles match I was referring to his singles career. A great doubles player as well, no doubt...seems to do better when he only has 1/2 of the court to cover...and NOT only 2 Aussie Opens, he has won SEVERAL other important doubles tournaments. And again, i would like to add, he is one of my favorite players of all-time, just never seemed to live up to his talent in my opinion....

  • Fabrice is special. He seems to play for fun, not to win. Obviously he is not Agassi, Sampras, Federer or Nadal, but keep in mind that no one is Santoro. I never see someone like him.

  • Well, you can certainly play "magically" and win....sin ir mas lejos, un tal John McEnroe me viene a mente....

  • Santoro is really a real pearl amongst all the other guys

  • lol, this guys freakin hilarious...lob, drop shot, lob, drop shot

  • respect fabrice ! ce que t'as mi a nalbi c'est énorme!

  • LOL! MAGIC! Gotta respect Fabrice.

  • Lol, the commentators were almost as hilarious as the point itself :p

  • Magic =0

  • I just love Fabrice (Nalbandian, too). I wish I could see the whole first set. I presume Santoro didn't keep this going, like he did with James Blake at USO 07. Nalbandian won this QF match 7-5 6-0 6-0 but lost in the semis to Baghdatis.

    Thanks for posting this.
