First off, The Oklahoman is about the worst paper in the country so we shouldn't expect it to be putting out the most educated articles. Jenni Carlson's article was out of line as was coach Gundy's behavior. What irritates me the most is that they both made Oklahoma look bad. This is a great state with lots of brilliant and charming people, and it's a shame to see that image tarnished by two adults who can't act their age.
1st off, what gives you the right to call names? (texasblaze1)? I don't see that you have any!!! I am behind him a 110% I agree with him, if there was more coaches like him in the world that cared about his players as much as he does then maybe they wouldn't give them steroids etc.... Put yourself in his shoes. If you were a coach, would you let the media just "down" your players, AND if that is the case, I am glad that you are not a coach.
Gundy is a CLASSLESS REDNECK. His totally unprofessional behavior is an embarassment to the university and to the rest of the nation. At what point is it appropriate to act like an OUT OF CONTROL ASS because you have a difference of opinion? He needs anger management and problem solving ability that requires him to use his brain instead of testosteron fueled rage.
Can you blame this guy? NO, if it would have been your kid that the media had been downing like that, wouldn't you have wanted him to stand up for your kid? I would be honored if my child had a coach to stand up for him like that.
I agree so much with you. My dad was a high school basketball and football coach who did the same with his players. To have people who probably never played sports before critize some kid like that is just terrible.
He's drinking Red Bull? That's the last thing he needs.
