Great vid, although I was suprised to see no reference to what I thought was the greatest Bible-related line, "Salvation lies within". It was said early on by the warden to Andy, referring to the message contained within, and Andy later repeats it to the warden, this time referring to the hidden rock-hammer, and letting the warden know how close he had come to finding Andy out. Great film because of callbacks just like that.

@sac78008 Agreed. I'm an atheist now but it behooves one to understand their cultural heritage.

I think Christianity is engrained in cinema as many other religions are and this shows the impact of a religious influence on the world. I think some concepts are more focused upon than others, and this might be do to the passing of time and the falling out of some old ways of thinking. The result is that the influence of Christianity and other religions has in doubtingly affected human behavior and shed a deeper understanding on the human condition.
