Why does asari reproduction cause so much confusion?

They "scan" their partners dna by linking their nervous systems. That allows them to randomise their own genetic material for their daugheters. All asari are born 100% asari.

And yes, they have vaginas and can have sex. Liara uses the phrase "physiologically compatible".

If that was too much, basically they "mind fuck" you, but they can "body fuck" you too and enjoy it if they want.

There is nothing "physical" about asari reproduction. The only time anything physical comes into sex with asari is only if the asari wants to, and its merely done for pleasure. It doesnt help them reproduce in the slightest.

Because of Fox and other people, they toned ME2 down to "sexual content" which is less sever. The ME3 rating was released and is the same as ME1. They've also said they're putting a much larger focus on relationships (romance and non-romance) in the third game, so you won't be disappointed.
