John's music has touched me like nobody else ever did so for me, he is the best guitar player ever. Page or Hendrix don't compare even if they are way more skilled than him.

JF is a fantastic guitar player in his own right, just as a whole lot of other guitarists in the world. That's really all you need to know.
It's not a contest. The only people that feel a need to rank guitar players are the people that don't get art.
Music is about feeling and expression, not competitive BS.
You know you are going to be a failure in life when you compete for the sake of competing, when you would be better served working together. You know like a band does.
Competitive games are for children.
That said, John Frusciante is exceptional at his art! IMHO

@outofslumber I think that John is creative in the sense that Jimi is his biggest influence and could of played much like his style(which was changing as Jimi grew), yet John used his own style and soul which were influenced by many great guitarist including Page and others. He's sounds different which makes him creative. If you look at this first albums all the way down to the last. You could see how he changed as well as Jimi(I'm not saying it sounds like Jimi though)

He's fantastic, but I wouldn't even call him the greatest guitarist of his generation, though he's easily in the top 5. I probably just lost you there. @clarkgun You cant look at Anthony as part of the band as you would John Flea or Chad, those three have the talent and musicianship which lets them gel together so fluidly and each of their parts almost intertwine to create a mega band. Anthony has done the right thing as a frontman thanks to his great soulful writing abilities and his performance, but at the same time he knows exactly when to step back and let the other boys do their thing.

@clarkgun You cant look at Anthony as part of the band as you would John Flea or Chad, those three have the talent and musicianship which lets them gel together so fluidly and each of their parts almost intertwine to create a mega band. Anthony has done the right thing as a frontman thanks to his great soulful writing abilities and his performance, but at the same time he knows exactly when to step back and let the other boys do their thing.

@TheDiceRollers1 Being well educated in scales doesn't make you a good guitarist, you also have to know how to write that's why Joe Satriani's record sales are shit, because he has no creativity, he's a very one-dimensional player all he does is play fast, which takes skill, but gets very boring very fast, which turns many people off of his music, John Frusciante on the other hand is a player who has a very vast theoretical knowledge, but puts it to a much more subtle use
