  • Thank you so much for posting this play, odentroll! I have been looking for it for years.

  • I watched this on the bbc in 1979,and I've looked for it ever since! can anyone put this torrent on ( The Box Bz ) Torrent Site? as I would love to have a copy.

  • I remember watching this when it was on BBC2 Playhouse in the late 70's. It is superb. I would also be prepared to pay for a DVD copy of this if possible. Please let me know if it is.

  • Hi, I can't believe someone has actually posted this on youtube. Thank you so much. I remember it so well - sitting on my sofa, not really taking much notice of the television, actually reading a book I think, way back in the 70s, and I began to watch it properly after about fifteen minutes. I came to, at the end of the drama, sitting there with my mouth hanging open absolutely blown away by it. If there is any way I can get a DVD of it, please let me know. I'm happy to pay. Thanks again.

  • Looks like I need to burn some more discs or get you UK guys to share some around...

  • This is very touching. I knew a Lanc pilot, he was shot down over Liepzieg in April 1945. It was his 15th Operation. We had many discussions before he died about Bomber Command and Squadron life. Where can I get a copy of this film?

  • i remember watching it the first time back in 79.made a lasting impression. just watched it again. still good.

  • Any idea where they filmed it?

    (Thanks for posting!)

  • I fear the worst Odentroll. It wouldnt surprise to find that they've kept appalling old tat like terry&June, but wiped works of genius like this.

  • Odentroll. Thanks for posting this lot. I've been searching for it for SO long! I even contacted the beeb, who as you might guess didnt want to know. Many thanx!

  • Yes the BBC must have a good stash of Plays from the 1980s they never seem to dust off. but then they had a habit of wipe'n tapes to save money!

check out the "Donkeys Years" play on the channel from the same era.

  • Where you wanting a proper copy?

  • Hi Odentroll, I'd love a proper copy if that could be arranged? How could we go about this?

  • @odentroll Ha Ha Ha! Raherecolston gave me a copy. A truly magnificent production. Right up there with Pathfinders.

  • @odentroll

I've looked for this for so long! Any chance?

Should be required watching for all schoolchildren. Many, many thanks.

  • Dont Foget this is a classic British Play it starts slow then builds to an intensive ending.

  • Yes. I've seen it before, which is why I so wanted to see it again. As you say, a classic!
