I lost a Judo match to John in the 1980 Nationals, Osoto Gari if i remember ,Very skilled Judoka, Had the pleasure of also working out with him in Tampa a few months before the Nats along with Dewey Mitchell and Tom Materson.

Was very lucky to randori with such talented guys.
