We don't get the crown here in Canada but we get the Avalon which seems quite close to the Crown. Having driven an 2000 Avalon it is incredibly smooth and quiet. Not too expensive to maintain or repair either.

In the US survey, 3 series reliability still can't reach Corolla or Civic and also, Merc and Audi reliability are still getting the lowest ratings that the cars can ever get. I have driven a 99 3 series E46 and it was mad unreliable. The car even died out once, and the wipers didn't even work properly. And now 02 Civic makes me feel like I've been seening BMW nightmares.

I have seen many people with problematic 7 series cars, and 5 series, I am not sure, but I have seen it under the hood and it is a mess, you can't even check the oil, because everything is all covered by some plastic stuff.
