amazing video,worlds beyond what junk was being shown on mtv back in the day, too bad most didn't "get" the humor .I guess it didn't have enough of the required things in order to sell back then...& compete with the so talented ratt, crue, poison & other groups of the time.. Yes, the video makes this song & the singer is a true singer, great tone & talent.

Golden Earring....had a very strong Pink Floyd texture to their music that was so subtle that a lot of people failed to notice it. At various times on their many albums they emulated and borrowed from so many other artists, respectfully, sucessfully ...and in a really cool way. If you list to Violins from To The Hilt it starts out like the Stones, then bridges to the Kinks, and then ends like ELO. They produced such amazing collages like that. Dreadfully underrated band, so so good....

I watched it again & still laugh & catch something diff. in the video as the old man's reactions are priceless as are the backgrounds from the dated glasses on the wall to the bending. band emblem on the drum kit. Note how many times the guy gets a diff. icecream cone to the putout look the old dude gives the man with the cone as he sits at his table IN AN EMPTY ROOM of course, its all too clever & funny, very well thought out during a time period when videos were predict.. A+ to director/writr
