I can see a group of kids sitting round a horn wireless set "listening in" to this, all huddled together and smiling at each other, with the wonder of it all! Like that film of the radio on a cart out in the street and the couples dancing to the music being played!
My old friends brother was the 'wireless man' in their household. He would spend ages patiently finding a signal only to be frustrated at losing it when someone walked across the room!. Cat's Whisker days those.
What a great record as to be expected from Jack Payne and Columbia at this time. Was this from a "talkie",as i have it by Harry Hudson and cant find the 78 but seem to think it was a film tune?

This tune isn't from a film..but it is very catchy. This is the best version of it I've heard.

Not sure if from a film as the label does not state that information ( I find Columbia's tend not to do so). If you find out do tell me!
