  • nice one thanks!

  • You may lengthen the rails to what ever length you want to hold more than 2 hives if you wish, although I do advise to use a hardwood for the rails if you lengthen them more than 4 feet long. Thanks

  • I did fail to mention that I add 2 2x4's on top of the hive stand to place the 2 hives on. Yes they do hang over the dimension of the base but this is very stable. I should have added that photo. I'll add that somehow. Thanks for pointing that out ottoallen.

Trust me, these dimensions are good and I have used these stands for years. I will try to add the photo at the end of the video.

  • Just so everybody knows, the standard Langstroth hive is 161/4 X 20.

Even sides touching there is not enough space for 2 hives. With telescoping covers on each , forget about it! Do you have any pictures with full size hives with telescoping covers?

    Thanks,

  • Hey Paul, Thank you!!! I bought my materials today and cut my wood. Do you know how to make a slatted rack?

  • @MrLarryhoward1

I have not made a slatted rack. I use an oil trap under my hives and have never used a slatted rack. THe oil trap is to help with the beetle problem. IT works too.

  • Thank you Paul. I really like the cans with oil. We have no beetles here but the ants are a real pain.
