  • I really don't actually like this...I think that I prefer the Royal Ballet version

  • The Fairies' costumes are amazing! At 6:34 :O

  • Mesmerizing!!!!

  • Nureyev puts his signature on this work so clearly. Magnificent.

  • I've never seen this version before. It's BEAUTIFUL!!

  • I danced the same Adagio! Ahahah ;)

  • This dance is beautiful, love it

  • these girls are the cream of the crop.

  • i'd love to witness a performance like this in person.

  • I love pob! They have always the nicest dresses and everything *_*

  • the ballerina in yellow is amazing so graceful and cute :)

  • @priscila187

She is Miteki Kudo who was semi soloist in POB (she retire last july). She is the daughter of a great Etoile of the company Noella Pontois.

  • Ballet is poetry in motion. The way these ballerinas move is so graceful, I wish i could possess an ounce of their gracefulness

  • I love the ballerina in red, her personality is so sweet.

  • This is THE most beautiful entrance I've ever seen for sleeping beauty...It's so ethereal and along with the light-hearted beautiful music along with this choreography gives the fairies a entrance of grandeur and eloquence. You really sense that they are respected and important...The choreography makes me forget I'm watching a ballet but whisks me away into another realm where i forget these are dancers but see the characters they are portraying. Bravo Nureyev. Thanks for the upload.

  • Parfait! Absolutement! :)

  • 0 dislikes. I believe it

  • I agree. The choreography is uniquely different from what I've generally seen, yet is is totally in keeping with the tradition of this is ballet.

  • the detail in the costumes so beautiful and the cheoreography is amazing :)

  • the orange/red one really stands out

  • all of them are damn gorgeous!!! palais garnie rocks the ballet world! ;)

keep on doing votre battement chicas! :)

and originally they should be 12 + carabosse the 13th ;) but who cares?!

  • all of them are damn gorgeous!!! palais garnie rocks the ballet world! ;)

keep on doing votre battement chicas! :)

  • love their headpieces

  • isn't there one fairy extra? o.O Because I see 7 and aren't they supposed to be 6?

  • @ichaichaparadice No,in the original productions they were 7 but actualy many companies do it with only 6. Few companies lika Paris Opera Ballet have kept this 7fayries.

  • @ichaichaparadice

In the Noureev version The Lilac Fairy is not a danced part so the choreography of the Lilac Fairy in Petipa version is done to a 7th Fairy.

  • i love how every fairy has their own tendants as should be, but they really cut out the canairy fairy and heres. to busy on the chick in blue who mind u isnt the lilac fairy.

  • The set, the lighting, the choreography; this is ballet at its finest. And of course; the dancers! The music is the biggest treat for me though; the Sleeping Beauty prologue is for me a musical wonder with few equals.

  • @Mash494 I feel the same way about its Prologue. It always gives me chills and inspires me. So fierce and beautiful.

  • @Mash494 I agree! there is not really aything that can match the music's level of magic!

  • @Mash494 that's so nice!! i love the sleeping beauty suite music as well, and also Prokofiev's cinderella...the opening piece is also beautiful. very enchanting!

  • perfection. these girls really showcase well. i love them soooooo much!

  • The fairy godmothers. Exquisite.

  • i want know wen you buy this dvd please tell me i love it

  • Wonderful choreography!!

  • @rosacotton - Petipa's original is much better. Nureyev tends to over-use those very academic looking little steps that he no-doubt picked up in his classes with Erik Bruhn ... its the kind of petite allegro that looks tedious on stage, IMO. Ive uploaded the reconstruction of SB, and the prologue is hands down Petipa's masterpiece, particularly the Pas de six.
