Sounds like a ELO song and a nick drake song morphed! Just shows you how talented Larry was. RIP larry norman, I look forward in meeting you one day in Heaven.
wow, larry norman's music always helps me come back after I've drifted away from jesus, I'm so glad my dad gave me that tape all those years ago, god bless us all, and mr ufo, you need to hurry up, we are waiting :)
Well said Aavery. This song took my concrete rational mind down a peg and let me live in a cosmic cradle of childlike wonderment. In that state that I can accept and receive joy. My rational mind does not like things it cannot pigeonhole, label or measure. "Unless you become like children you cannot be my disciples." … eventually becoming a non judgmental witness, concerned about life outside the hopeless, competitive box, the world system had offered so logically.

Larry Norman had a great talent as a singer, songwriter and performer. I had many of his albums and saw him live many times when I was younger. It's too bad all his talent was wasted on all the lies he tried to perpetuate in his message. Obviously I am no longer a christian, so his music is difficult to listen to now because of all the lies and superstition.
i'm not religious, but norman had a huge influence on me as a kid - his gift for poetry and his conviction, no matter what you believe, is absolutely compelling.

This man's work was effective. He help lead one fucked up youth from that 70's generation to a personal relationship with the good Lord. This youth eventually got clean and sober, truthful and honest and less self absorbed. He became a man of faith through rough times and full of hope and remains so to this very day.
when i was like 17,18, a christan friend introduced me to larry norman and randy stonehill...i saw them a few times in concert, and i talked to both of them after.larry seemed very powerful in perfomance,i ve never seen someone so determined, inspirational and a nice guy...i got a lot out his music, and he left a positive mark on my life. god bless him.

I'd like to push back the darkness with my bravest effort. There will be a funeral posted here on the website, in case some of you want to attend. We are not sure of the date when I will die. Goodbye, farewell, we will meet again.
I just started learning about Larry Norman this week by listening to some of his music on the radio (88.9 WBYO Word FM). He sounded like a warrior for Jesus Christ in his time.
God bless us all, that another individual like him will stand in the gap for our generation.
Thanks for posting... Larry Norman is just another one of the amazing people we will meet in Heaven one day. I wonder if he's putting on a concert for God right now. :)
He was the best of the best!

You know, I'm reminded of Steve Taylor's track on "Roaring Lambs" titled "Shortstop":
Shortstop standing in the lurch
Bridging faith and field research
High wire balance every move is inspired
Hedge your bets and handicaps
Shortstop's here to mind the gaps
Lord, who will rise up when that number's retired?
