Great so you open all these apps very fast. To bad OSX can't even open more then one calculator lol. So for me OSX is to limited. If I would choose an other operating system then Windows then it would be Linux.
OSX would not take use off all my hardware, because it can't handle Nvidia Fusion. But I only tried it on a normall HDD never on a SSD and I have a SSD in my notebook.

A Mac is by far the best computer you could have to run OS X ! So just try to get an Optimized Mac mini ! it's better than lying yourself, saying that you have a Mac. Cause A mac is not only the Software but the High performance Hadware too ! Mac Pro with up to 24 virtual cores can do this in 3 Sec
@nitbot I do agree cause Mac use intel processors like PCs Ones . But OSX is a system that has been built for mac, It can't run better on a PC. OS X is in contact with Mac hardware. together they run in harmony. OSX is for MAC.

@str82u i respect you and i will tell you the truth. There are few years i was using a Dell tour very powerful. Mac can run many apps even if it has low hardware specs. As example my mac mini can run more than 40 apps without any lag. But with PCs even if the hardwares specs are very high, it has a problem to manage that power so that apps will run fine. A mac has came after PCs but Mac have done more innovation (Design, esthetic, use) and has developed the most advanced OS in the World.

@buddy39914 I will answer your question.....The answer in short...yes....the long answer you will have to go and configure your video card if you dont buy on the OSX supports and some other hardware. It can be a b*tch but sometimes easy. Either way I say go for it. Plenty of tutorials and forums to help you if you get stuck. :) The biggest key is your motherboard sellection. Get the right MB and you're golden.
@buddy39914 I would recommend just using carbon copy cloner, if you dare to build a Hackintosh i highly recommend buying your hardware based on a good tutorial so you can have the least amount of headache setting it up and you will be sure to have compatible hardware from the get go
what size ssd did you use? Are you finding that you have enough space without running out of room for new apps? I ask because i'm about to build my first hackintosh and i'm considering a 64gb ssd for boot, and standard hard drives for file storage.

I have a bog standard laptop win7 pentium dual core laptop with a standard Kingston v100 ssd. Great performance (for almost all my use) but stress testing it with 50 apps etc there is no way i can reach your speeds. as i am only 2.0ghz is this what is my bottleneck?

I've got a 930 rig with 12gb RAM, although it's for audio so not overclocked as high so I don't have to run my fans too loud and the graphics card isn't anything special, so it'll probs score less than that. I'll be purchasing a drive for using it as a hackintosh later this year.

@Maximococolio: Paulo used the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3r. I used the UD7 (ver. 1), better mobo when it comes to keeping things slightly cooler; 24 Phase Power VRM (to deliver more power at lower voltages). Honestly I think they're basically the same. Paulo was really great in helping put ours together. I think he went back to a Apple laptop though. That's what he told me a while ago. Me, I'm upgrading to 24GB Ram (from 12GB) & Core i7 970 Chip (which is the same as a 980x, but less than half the $).
We're going to post our vid on it soon (within the next three weeks). Internal Dual Bay/Dual Pump for Mobo & Core i7 970. Can't wait to install all the upgrades and show the vid. If you subscribe to our channel we'll send out the link when it's ready... later... :-)

There are 3 EFI bootdisk that are great but the best in my opinion works all the time... here are the 3. Empire EFI, iBoot or my favorite... Pirate EFI 2.0 with preinstallation. You can use Multibeast or Myhack pre-installation packages but they don't work as easy and effective as Pirate's own pre-installation. Download Pirate EFI ISO & burn into Bootable CD.
make sure ur laptop or desktop runs first from CD/DVD drive in order to boot. The EFI bootloader will fool the Snow Leopard retail install disk think you have a Logic motherboard and lets u install SL easily. Plus the Pirate EFI bootloader disk has a slick nice interface and not some vervos crap that needs you type some letter and number to run it! anyways have fun... the rest is your homework!

Sick system dude, I just got an SSD to try the same thing. I showed this video to a few people who were mac fans and they were taken aback that a custom built PC could both run Mac OSX and run it this quickly. I don't know how my 3.33GHz Core 2 Quad is going to compare to this i7, but I expect it to be pretty quick.

I have a 980X on a Gigabyte Mo/Bo with two HD5850s (atm only one). Will hackintosh run smoothly on this? Also, is 100GB SSD space comfortable enough for Mac OS X? It will be a partition of my half-full Windows SSD.

By the way, the video is not sped up, because I've used a Mac before, and when he opened all that up, the docks were bouncing at the right speed. If the video was sped up, then the docks would bounce a lot faster

Sick system dude, I just got an SSD to try the same thing. I showed this video to a few people who were mac fans and they were taken aback that a custom built PC could both run Mac OSX and run it this quickly. I don't know how my 3.33GHz Core 2 Quad is going to compare to this i7, but I expect it to be pretty quick.

yes you can add a hdd (hard drive) and install hacktosh, you can use a external hardrive tooim using now a external HD 3,6TB 2 TB to snow leopard 1 tb to windows 7 and 600GB to Ubuntu
Yes You can install a Bootloader named empire efi and chameleon. my proccesor and specs are intel i7 4,9 GHZ KING TURBO MODE 3,6 TB HD and more

I personally cannot afford mac, but I have transformed my PC to look exactly like a Mac, with a Mac finder bar, Apple logo, the dock, leftsider (moves the x and minimize buttons to the left), and the space background. Works exactly like a Mac, but it's Windows!

No lag, no crash. Pure power of the Mac? More like pure Steve-jobs bitchness.
