Wait til the Trinity bridge and the park over the freeway is finished. On top of that uptown starting to look like a whole nother city, but they don't show that view because they always got to show the trademark Reunion Tower. P.s North Dallas is nice
Dallas is an ok-sized city. It's obviously no NYC, Tokyo, Mexico City, or Hong Kong... hell it's not even an L.A... but Dallas is very young compared to these world-class cities as well. Dallas is growing w/ very modern & very beautiful architecture spawning all over. You'd think the culture would be very modernisticl, but a lot of people from all over the South flock to Dallas, so it has a very country feel. Dallas also needs to step it up & get more liberal like all the other bigger cities
1624???? dude have you even bin to New York that island your talking about is the Manhaten island across from Jersey theirs still the Bronx,Brooklyn,Queens, Staten Island the state of New York is more than the Manhaten island
@joeblohhh it wasnts colonized explorers settled in for a while but it just wasnt in the state of New York it was all over the country America itself wasnt Founded til 1776 on july 4th, texas was a state way b4 New York became Founded texas was Tejas b4 it was changed to texas San Antonio is Older than the NYC so idk what you guys are talking about building scyscrapers didnt even start till they started mining steel for them as it was a cheeper and easyer product to transport cut and produce
dallas is great! but too fuckin hot in summer...id prefer to stay living by the ocean in corpus christi, tx or miami, fl. where the weather is ALWAYS nice!
People say our skyline isn't condensed like some cities and isn't very big. I disagree with that. It really depends on what angle you look at downtown. If you come up from the west on 30 you'll get a great view of uptown and downtown together. We aint no San Fran, NYC or chicago. but we aint no Oklahoma City either...You need to take time and look at it from other angles..
I know this comment is from a year ago but I totally agree. Our skyline is awesome! Its basically on par with Los Angeles.....AND ITS GROWING...This vid is old!
@JasnoGT Yup! uptown is really spreading us out A LOT. They are building a new 60 story tower off Woodall Rogers and Pearl? I think. lol. Down in the victory park area you get that real urban feel. I love it!
BLUE...You are a DFW HATER. Dallas/Ft. Worth is home to 6.5 million people and headquarters to Exxon-Mobil, Blockbuster, Comerica Bank, JCPenney, Frito-Lay, NeimanMarcus, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines. By 2030, we will hit 10 million people. Also, watch the area when we host the 2011 from our 100,000 seat Cowboys Stadium. I hate HATERS and you are a big ONE. LONG LIVE DFW & TEXAS!
Wow, I see my old hometown has changed. I lived in Dallas until I got transferred by my company. Fun town. I'm now about 5 blocks from the white house in the heart of D.C. Very different. If you're going to count FW, then to be fair, I now live in Washington/Baltimore which has about 8.5 million. From here to Boston, about 450 miles live about 50 million people. It's city burb city burb non stop with a bit of open fields. I wish Dallas was a bit more urban. Still, awesome new architecture.
Yeah, KSTX, I have to admit I miss Big D. I remember when what used to be called "Fountain Place Tower" or something like that, on Ross Street was going up. When it was done, I remember the sun going down, and the reflection going up from the bottom- red on lower floors, orange in the middle, yellow toward the top. The genius of glass buildings finally hit me. It was awesome. The architect I.M. Pei is no lightweight either. Likely the #1 living architect around. He must be 90 or so. Genius.
Dallas a Hick town? Only a fag from NY, SF or LA would say that. Dallasites shouldn't be offended by being called "Hillbillies" or "rednecks". I'm one and I'm proud of it! Texans can't help their mentality. Remember your heritage. The early white settlers of Texas came from the greatest redneck places in the world: Tennessee,(Davy Crockett), Kentucky, (Jim Bowie) and Carolina (Col.Travis and Jim Bonham). So it's alright to act the way you do, it's in your blood, see? Yankees hate us, so what?
@panzerschnott, y does everything have to deal with "hate"? Any smart person knows that every part of the world has it's own heritage & cultural attributes. Sure from place to place, people may dress & talk differently.. But inside, everywhere you go, people are the same. Everywhere has its good people & it's shitty people. If you're so proud of being of the 'redneck', 'hillbilly' & 'hick' heritage, why get so mad if someone from NY, SF, or LA points it out?
you can look up pretty much any dallas video and see some 'hick' related comment from blue99blue. jeez, get a life already. probably never even spent any real time in dallas before. i'd like to know where he/she is from anyway.

ok, well, then I guess it's due to all the Immigrants landing on the East Coast first.
And being on that tiny Island; the only way to build is 'up'....
Anyway, everyone says Wikipedia is not trustworthy, but it still says that New York was founded in 1624.
Dallas was founded 220 years later, in 1841.

@joeblohhh yea but ive bin to dallas and what i like about over their the people are so Friendly
91latinking 1 year ago
@91latinking They Are, tho.
I moved here from California, and unless you live in the Bay Area, or some parts of Southern California,
the people there suck real bad.
The Dallas people are different. Very nice. Probably coz of all the churches. lol !
joeblohhh 1 year ago
@joeblohhh oh your from cali ive visited LA i got cali love lol people are verry open and out going
91latinking 1 year ago
@91latinking Yeah... but stay away from Sacramento.
I was gonna live in L.A. at one time.. but my life was doing other things that my
plans couldn't help.
Fresno is ok. Stockton people are friendly, too. But Santa Cruz was a little weird.
And San Jose was boring.
Seems Sacramento and Santa Cruz are the kinds of towns that are like the 'modern' good-ol boys types.
They are not so nice to outsiders.
Take care, man. :)

@91latinking True. But New York has been around for like 500 years.
Texas has only been a state for about 170 years.

@joeblohhh 500 years??? NYC was founded in 1898 thats 122 Year's

The combination of
1. Denial...hicks tend to be the last dis-believers.
2. The history of oil in the ground, in Texas.
3. The history of Texas politicians being in the pocket of the oil industry...including the Middle East.
4. The great distances Texans tend to drive.
5. The lack of clean nuclear power in the state.
6. 100% of Tx electricity being generated by coal plant...the dirtiest fuel there is.
Historically, Texans are the biggest carbon polluters, ever on the face of the planet.
