The EU currently finances economic and environmental "development" projects that leave workers with no rights and work in appalling conditions. As far back as the Slave Trade colonization and partition of Africa by the Europeans which intentionally redrew the country lines that caused rival tribes to be locked in to the same country - thereby creating political tensions that kept the lands in conflict situations, making the states for the Euros easier to control. The problems in Africa started with Euros domination, and precipitated the present oppressive conditions existing now. Everyone involved is guilty.

This focus on animals is clearly a cover for a colonialist -mentality report on zimbabwe's political situation. it ignores the fact that this is the disgraceful legacy of imperialism where a white minority had all the wealth and the majority had little. no country can function when a ruling elite bleeds everyone dry, does not contribute to the development of society as a whole. This is the result of decades of private profiteering.

Mugabe should have had some sort of integration plan with the farmers. Obviously these farmers have been doing their business for generations, they know the technology, the land, the climate, and what it takes to produce farming goods. A hostile takeover just for the sake of settling old grievences does not solve the problem. I wonder if he had actually co-orperated with them, it could have helped in some way to relieve the current situation?
