@ErikS1975FreeState They finish 4th overall in the NHL that same year, it was their best season in it's history in the league. Dale Hawerchuk was taken out in the playoff's, from a hit by Jamie McCoun of the Calgary Flames. The Jets defeated the Flames for their first and only playoff series victory. With Hawerchuk, the Jets were poised to take out Edmonton, they had the team to do great things that season. Without Hawerchuk, the team just felt they couldn't do it without him.
vintage 80s! im from tampa and only about 8 when the team left and i never had the chance to see a single game. after seeing this it sure as hell makes me a fan and id fly with the jets any day. seven words BRING EM BACK WHERE THEY BELONG! WINNIPEG!
im a Rangers fan but the stories I watched about the Winnipeg Jets was one of the reasons why i like hockey so much. When the Jets moved to PHX i was only 6 at the time i didnt remember them much but it a great hockey town and all the Whiteouts they had. I hope that one day the Jets come back because it a great city. I been there it is wonderful city. Hopefully they do so i can see a Rangers-Jets game in Winnipeg.
GO! JETS! GO! SAVE! THE! JETS! Toronto doesnt need another hockey team yes i know i am a die hard leafs fan but, they should come to Winnipeg then well name them the Winnipeg Jets! :]
That's correct. The Jets/Coyotes franchise has managed to advance past the first round of the playoffs just two times in twenty-eight seasons. The Winnipeg Jets defeated the Calgary Flames each time, last being twenty-one years ago, in 1987. The franchise has finished over .500 just ten times in those said twenty-eight seasons. Not a very good ratio to say the least.
Bring national league hockey back to Winnipeg, Manitoba...Where it belongs.
But look at their division. they would have to have played either the Oilers or Flames to ever have a shot at the finals. but even though they lost, they sure gave us great hockey
The 1984-85 Winnipeg Jets were the strongest edition of the team from the 80's. 43-27-10 record, second in the Smythe Division, 358 goals scored (3rd in the league), they gave up far too many goals but their offence more than made up for it. They beat the Flames in round 1 of the playoffs but lost to the Oilers in round 2 with no Hawerchuk. Pitty maybe the Jets w/ Hawerchuk could have won.

the fact that them and their fans sucked ass. It wasn't until the last minute winnipeger's decided to try and do something. Uh how about buying tickets and supporting this shitty team years before instead you dumbasses jump on the bandwagon a little too late. I'm from winnipeg and this city deserved to lose the crappy assed team.
and who the hell do you cheer for? you dont even know what true passion for a team is all about. im 15. i dont remember the jets moving. but i WANT THE JETS TO COME BACK! so dont say jets fans dont care. because we do. and it is that spirit that will one day hopefully bring back our team.

The Jets have solid teams but never one great team
ErikS1975FreeState 1 year ago
@ErikS1975FreeState 84' was the best Jets team around during that time. Dale Hawerchuk was easily the next best thing to Gretzky in that NHL.

That was the Jets best season points wise, good team. I like the Oilers I hated to see those goals scored on them LOL.

I could be mistaken, but hasn't the Jets/Coyotes franchise only won 2 playoff series in the NHL? That kinda sucks.
However, I would rather see the Jets back than the friggin Coyotes.
