@ErikS1975FreeState They finish 4th overall in the NHL that same year, it was their best season in it's history in the league. Dale Hawerchuk was taken out in the playoff's, from a hit by Jamie McCoun of the Calgary Flames. The Jets defeated the Flames for their first and only playoff series victory. With Hawerchuk, the Jets were poised to take out Edmonton, they had the team to do great things that season. Without Hawerchuk, the team just felt they couldn't do it without him.

im a Rangers fan but the stories I watched about the Winnipeg Jets was one of the reasons why i like hockey so much. When the Jets moved to PHX i was only 6 at the time i didnt remember them much but it a great hockey town and all the Whiteouts they had. I hope that one day the Jets come back because it a great city. I been there it is wonderful city. Hopefully they do so i can see a Rangers-Jets game in Winnipeg.

That's correct. The Jets/Coyotes franchise has managed to advance past the first round of the playoffs just two times in twenty-eight seasons. The Winnipeg Jets defeated the Calgary Flames each time, last being twenty-one years ago, in 1987. The franchise has finished over .500 just ten times in those said twenty-eight seasons. Not a very good ratio to say the least.

Bring national league hockey back to Winnipeg, Manitoba...Where it belongs.

The 1984-85 Winnipeg Jets were the strongest edition of the team from the 80's. 43-27-10 record, second in the Smythe Division, 358 goals scored (3rd in the league), they gave up far too many goals but their offence more than made up for it. They beat the Flames in round 1 of the playoffs but lost to the Oilers in round 2 with no Hawerchuk. Pitty maybe the Jets w/ Hawerchuk could have won.
