Is this game like empire earth with placing of buildings anywhere you want and creating units one at a time. Or is it like civiliations or medievil total war.

@SentenzaGomez its like sim city and none of the games you think they're like, you make barrack's and recruit people to join the legions and sometimes barbarians attack and you slaughter them roads must be connected to the buildings for them to work and produce so............ in a nutshell its sim city with war plus 3d not isometric 3d.

@vo0sto0 well this is a tuff game and all you do is put tax collecting buildings around the rich housing and around your markets markets are good for a certant amount of housing so build them around your city.

Bought this game ages ago for wanting experiencing Rome in any age on the true topolgy of the seven hills at the Tiber river. Besides from using Roman lifestyle an architecture, it quickly seemed like any oter city building game, so I put aside, prioritizing Total War: Rome.

Have I bought the wrong game?

Actually, I stopped playing it as soon as I got the feeling it was just another city builidng game which had little to do with the topology of the Tiber city at the seven hills (after about 30 min. of playing time) - I had been dreaming about moving in a 3d environment in the slopes of the Capitol Hill like in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - only in the Caesarian age. Actually I was hoping to receive an answer which prooved me wrong - but I am still waiting

I don't have the game, but does it have simple battles? Like making some troops to fight barbarians? Since there is a game similar to this called Imperium Romanum. It has basic recruiting and fighting.

i love ceasar III, still play it, really interested in buying ceasar IV. Thanks for showing gameplay, I was wondering how different the two are. I have Windows Vista though, I wonder if I can still play it on my PC?

@dollbabi77 Caesar 4 in my opinion is better both in terms of graphics and gameplay. Some might call it a simplified version of Caesar 3, but to me it addressed all the frustrating aspects and made the game a lot more fun. Also, combat is almost entirely optional. Reaching the goals is not as difficult as it used to be. So over all, I thought it was a better.

Yes, the game is playable on Vista. I played it on Vista 64.

@Chandu83 Mmmm I like the "difficulty" in C3. Its actually not so difficult you just need some understanding of the dynamics and plan ahead. To bad my computer is not strong enough to run C4 but I hope C4 will be as fun as C3!

@Charruaaa1010 I know this is better than Emperor: Rise of Middle Kingdom. The visuals are better, and the objectives are a lot more acheivable. I am not saying Emperor is a bad game, this happens to be a good one. Some people don't like the 3D, but I like it fine.

I don't recollect there being a multiplayer option. I could be wrong about this though.

@Garren16 Oh yes, the graphics options are flexible. I played this game with fairly decent performance on 7600GS AGP. So you don't have to worry too much. Just have to turn down the settings. The game doesn't look all that bad on medium low.

@cosmicalian personally, I liked Caesar 4 better. Caesar 3 can be frustrating at times. Caesar 4 has some camera issues, but nothing that will hurt gameplay. If you want the fun of city building without all the frustration, go for Caesar 4. If you are glutton for punishment, then go with Caesar 3.

You don't need to attach a pipeline to the bath house. IT just needs to be near a reservoir.

Unlike the Caesar III, you don't drag the mouse here, you just click on the start point (pump house) and the end point (reservoir). While you move your move between the two clicks, you will see the possible pipeline route.

If you beat the third game, you can beat this easily. There are some camera issues and such, but the gameplay is fairly solid for most part. A little on the easier side, but I liked it that way.
