@patman1322 i was messing with you because of the Dean comment , i loved Dime (2nd greatest guitarist ever) but no one in their right mind would give up a nice archtop for a solid body slab . Think in terms of tone and the sweet sound an archtop can create.
@madgoldtop ya and think of how nice them dimebunkers sound when in a dean ml solid body with floyd rose bridge. and to look down on that 12 fret and see the good ol razor blade
Actually I'm not sure. That's how it is on a normal guitar. His is weird. I just counted and it was nine between the doubles. Which is not an octave =/
You said Vibrato wrong, its Vi-Bro-Toe, before one1 yells at me and says i'm wrong, i play violin and everything i no/ heard says it that way even my teacher who won't to 3 violin collegdes and played almost all her life
dude, since you were explaining hammer-ons and pull-offs you should have explained tapping; it's essentially the same thing and it's super easy (not to mention it's looks and sounds awesome). you should have also explained muting. It would have been awesome if you explained natural harmonics. cool video for begginers, but really it's stuff you learn as you go along. still cool to explain though.
yeah it maybe intentionnally reversed. Take for example the Dimarzio D Sonic, it can be used in both sides, one for a more loud and fat rythm sound and the other for a more crisp and clear lead sound.
I am a rank beginner, and this guy did a great job of keeping it slow and simple. That seems like the point of the video. For folks who are critical, make your own video so 83 can flame you.
hey man nice vid but unfortunately not much help to me :( would of liked to see sum more advanced stuff like sum mad Vai kinda stuff but for people just starting out on guitar i wud strongly advise watching this vid, good work man keep at it :)
Hey man, rgordon83 is doing a service to the beginner to intermediate player. This is a great warm-up and develops independence in the left hand. Besides the "Mad-Vai" you requested? This exercise was part of Steve Vai's 10-hr. workout that he developed in his pre-virtuoso years [(3)3-hour structured sessions a day with the last 1-hour devoted exclusively to creative songwriting-type stuff.] I got it directly from an old Guitar World interview and lesson.
sorry, i didn't realize there was a "right" or "wrong" way. Maybe you can go tell hendix that a lefty playing a righty guitar is "wrong". Not to say that i'm hendrix. the point is that there is no "right" or "wrong" way as long as the desired result is produced...
Actually that was a bit short of me - sorry. What I meant was that there is a professional technique to playing the guitar and I hadn't seen it being used. But actually... looking at my comment before I'm kind of annoyed at myself - it was rude. Sorry about that.
Your left hand position (grabbing the guitar neck in the baseball hand method, the thumb over the neck) isn't right for hammer ons and pull off nor. Doing a hammer on over 5-6 strings with the thumb over the neck won't work. Stick to the classical method
yeah, sorry about that. I recorded with the crappy video recorder on my digital camera. I am saving up for a real recorded. hopefully future lessons will be better in terms of audio..
Try pulling your ginger off at a slight angle. Soinstead oj just picking your finger straight up off the strings, try PULLING it off so the fact that you pull causes the string to vibrate a bit. does that help?
You talk a lot S:

Why does the dictionary pronounce it different? I'm not being condescending I'm just curious.
GutiarFag 3 years ago 2
Becuse thats how the dictonary is, this is the way i no how to make it easier lol
XterTheTexter 3 years ago
Also, every person I've ever met, or seen in a guitar/string instrument instructional video has also pronounced Vibrato "Vie bra toe"
Whats the deal with that?

No, I don't thinks it's on backwards and people also flip it to get some type of tone, or at least that's what my friend told me.
