  • I have a question, and you seem like one of the few really knowledgeable people out here, not ones that pay a mechanic to do it, or just bolt on. But I have a 1995 Eagle Talon TSI AWD with a vacuum issue. My brakes aren't working at full potential. I figured brake booster. But thats not the case. All of my tubing is sealed, no leaks whatsoever, some people think its my injectors. Which are 750cc. Could you shoot me some advice through an inbox. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Doug

  • e85 is better to run in a boost application because of it's higher ocane rating, decreasing chance of knock, but you can also run pump gas and use methanol injection (Windshield washer fluid) and achieve the same sometimes better results.

  • sorry.. impossible to making 560 hp on 15 psi.. e85 is just higher octane. but takes alot more fuel to make power. also.. even with a 4g63 ur not pushing that power on 15psi. unless u have a massive turbo and built from hell 4g63. ur talking going from 210 hp stock on 10 psi to 560 with 5 more lbs? even if ur turbo is huuggge and flows amazingly.. u wouldnt be spoolin that kinda power till 100000000 rpms in that car on 15 lbs. sorry. not possible.

  • you obviously dont have a clue... e85 is more than just higher octane, its an oxygen rich fuel and the turbo was a borg warner s366 and ended up making 733 hp at 40 psi on e85 search monster talon on streetfire you will see the videos I ran 147 mph in the quarter do the math before you start blowing off about something you have no knowledge of you should do your research...

  • @brandongbmx1 yeah a whole 27% more fuel jackass and when that video was produced it was an estimation of what it was making and the same engine has been together for over 2 years running on e85 at 43 psi.. this is a full out drag car now that is licensed and insured, down to 2600 lbs. also the estimation at the time was at the crank... now the hp is 733 awhp 2 yrs running.... short block has never been apart, aside the initial build up in the beginning...

    If you in fact had "taken many classes on it" You would understand that increasing the size of lines increases volume, therefore increasing the ability to flow more fuel. And this isn't important if you do not have the demand for it. The flashpoint of E85 is what sets it's aside from typical pump gas (89-93 locally). You are able to run more boost and or timing than what you are able to run on pump. Thus making more power.

Yes obviously as read in my post it consumes more fuel.. which obviously means more volume... are you trying to tell me that b.c u increased the fuel line size that it also made the intake ports larger? lol it has nooo effect on the actual boost pressure monitered. see what im saying?     I couldn't make anything over 400 with my 70mm until above 30psi we made 475@30psi 650@36psi, 710@42psi although we were at 10.8:1afr the whole time so its possible we could have got close to 550 but not at 15psi, I barely made over 300 at that boost level without spraying. now I just spray on top of the 710 car went 148 with a massive boost leak on C16 tho, I don't mess with that corn crap :)

  • @brandongbmx1  I made 516 on 2.4L ka24det Nissan motor, E85 and a garrett super 60 turbo. The Builder of this Talon built and set up my E85 build. 516hp on stock cams, 1050cc injectors. e85 and a 60 trim garrett turbo. Search 500hp nissan 240sx. It's blue and on the dyno.

    Once again your wrong.

    5psi gain on a 14b (Stock turbo on a 5 spd car) and 5psi gain on a 80lb+ lb per min. turbo is totally different. PSI and velocity are not the same.

    However, I do agree that 560hp is probable to someones inflating it. This turbo is known to make great power at lower than normal psi. I could see 20-25psi making this EASILY!

  • @JST4CYL yes higher octane gives u the ability for more boost/timing.. my arguement here is i do not agree that this dsm is makeing 560whp on 15lbs, but little is known as to what is done to the engine. larger intake manifold, ported head, bored, larger valves, all determines the boost factors. just like expanding a sealed room the pressure becomes less even tho there is the same amount of air inside. so you tell me what all would need to be done to a 4g63 to make 560whp on e85 buddy 15p

  • just shutting it off after boosting it is not good. the turbo housing is so hot it'll bake the oil in the line. need to cool off at least 4 minites before shutting off.

  • Only idiots who are some what ricer minded aka most get crank walk. If your going to try to build a fast 4g63 you should have the brains to do matnance on it as in "replace the crank bearings" ever so many miles/hours. Crank walk only happens if you let the crank bearings go bad.

  • crankwalk is mostly due to half counter weighted cranks tryin to hold up with alot of power . fully counter weighted billet cranks will solve that . YEAH IDOITS WITH THEIR RICER MINDS ...   • Ethanol...methanol...pretty much the same as alcohol. alcohol(ethanol) burns at a lower temperature and burns fuller and cleaner. also its 110 octane. Im converting my 93tsi to alcohol for the advantages it has over gasoline. very cheap to convert and youll never blow a motor.

  • the higher the octane the more temperature there needs to be to ignite it... you have a backwards... it slows down the burn time... does the same thing as meth/water injector but not exactly the same
