I'm from the Bay Area, and I have to agree Vancouver is the ideal location for Pixar Canada. I wanted to visit Vancouver one day, and who knows, I may see the studio! I love the scenes where the Pixar characters visited Vancouver.
Canadian dollar now is more expensive than US's making whole operation questionable and Vancouver has insane real estate prices and is expensive and is not an attractive place for professionals.

Vancouver is one of the fastest growing economies in North America and BC as a whole has almost stepped out of the way of the economic recession. There are many reasons why opening a place in Vancouver is a plus. And if you are bothered by high real estate prices Vancouver has quite a lot of suburbs that are just a 40 minute ride from downtown Vancouver.
I'm a college kid right now, and Toy Story has been my absolute favourite - it marked a very significant part of my childhood. I'll never forget the time when I watched Toy Story 3, with "You've got a friend in me" coming on in the background. I secretly shed tears behind my 3d glasses, because it reminds me so much of the innocent, always joyful childhood moments we all don't get to experience twice in life. Thank you, Pixar.
Pixar, i cried watching this. You guys are amazing. It's always been my life dream to work with you and someday i will. 30 minute long television programs? Extending Cars? I'm so excited!!!! To see the characters in the real world, that was just incredible. Team Pixar forever!!!

I should probably point out something to the aspiring animators.
The ambition to contribute to the art of storytelling is a noble one. To become an animator for Pixar is not a terribly unreachable goal, but it is guaranteed that you won’t be working there your entire life. For the sake of happiness, you should be an animator/illustrator for the love of the craft, not for the prestige of a single company.
One of my lifelong dreams is to come work with Pixar. I hope to work with all the best animators and make just outstanding movie creations. Well, yes, I'm just 13 right now, but I will be there one day. I just know it.
Interesting trivia point. At the very end you'll see who produced this short. It's the granddaughter of Walt Disney's first artistic partner and longtime collaborator Ubbe Iwerks. Cool huh?
