it's so easy to tell the differen between chinese and Japanese culture actually.Chinese culture is more reserved than Japanese overall,and very deep.It's usually hard for Common people to undersand it.To learn Japanese culture may just spend 10 years,but it will take more than 50 years to study Chinese civilization.

there are some subtal differences on their traditional dresses.Chinese dresses through thousand-year history have been changing all the time,but the basic style has remained the same untill Qing dynasty.Compared with Chinese dresses,Japanese are usually very very heavy and deeply influenced by western culture,and of course in modern time one of chinese dresses-QiPao has also affected by western culture,but it is actually not Chinese traditional clothes(related to the history)

All the differences I can tell you are my bias. Japanese are generally much more sexual than the Chinese. The Chinese thrive on wisdom and serenity while the Japanese don't take their culture very seriously.

In my experience, it's entirely the other way around. The Japanese are generally Traditionalists (even the younger generations), and, while they respect other cultures, they quite firmly place theirs above all others. The Chinese are a mixed bunch - I know many who completely ignore their heritage, but I know a couple who are indefagitably devoted to their culture.
