  • HELP I dont have points on my ground

  • you've a good voice for such things, thx

  • @XRussianScorpionX ha, thanks.

  • About the quality or res of the footage you are going to track, the tracking will be even more accurate if you have higher res. But, probably gonna take some time to render...

  • Can I use Google SketchUp 8 to create a 3D object?

  • I going crazy about this! Can someone explain me this in 3ds max the axis x and y are both on the floor only z is pointing up. Yet always hear people say y axis is up?? i can't uderstand this! Please explain..

  • i have the same problem .. the tracks are not in the same position in c4d

    ... i use cinema 4d r13

  • windows doesnt have that replace option at 10:47 , can I skip that edit?

  • When im add Video texture , i've got black material , no Video material :/ What happend?

  • What if i don't have Text Edit? :/

  • @M40A3xIntervention If you're on a windows machine, you can use notepad.

  • @VidMuze thanks:D

  • Where's part 2?

  • @VidMuze in all the other boujou tracking tuts they don't do the text edit thing, so what difference does it make and is it necessary?

  • @MrAL3XHD If you're exporting for C4d, then editing the c4d file with a text editor allows the tracker points to become un-parented from the 3d camera. This doesn't effect the actual track, but allows your track points to align properly with your 3d scene in c4d.

  • What if im doing motion tracking on a wall :( i know its y axis and z axis but where do i go with the y axis direction and z axis direction??

  • @ScopezUniQue If you're panning your camera side to side, then you need to set up x & z. If you're tilting up & down, then you can set up y, x & z. If you're setting up y, select 2 vertical trackers

  • Please respond to this man. Right now, it's 10:40pm, and when i did the optimize smoothness thing, it says it will be done by 1:25am.. is there a way i can fix this?

  • @ImSchlatt Are you running boujou on a slower system? If not, then you may want to turn the sensitivity of the track down. Less processing that way.

  • UUH

My footage is at 29.97. its fine in boujou, when i put it in cinema 4d its all wonky, dosnt track correctly. (the fps on bourjou and cinema 4d is 29.97.) HOW!?

  • @PhoenixFireFx Double check boujou, go into the sequence settings. It defaults back to 25 fps for a lot of users.

  • @VidMuze I have checked that. its the correct fps =[

  • @PhoenixFireFx Well, one thing,... c4d does not support 29.97... footage needs to be exactly 30. Once you convert your footage, reimport and redo the track in boujou to 30, make sure c4d's project settings are set to 30 fps.

  • @VidMuze Tried that =[

  • where part 2

  • I'm having that "sliding" problem, but whatever i do it stays. Is there anything i could do?

  • @BeardScarfProduction Sounds like you did not set up your geometry correctly. Try adding a test object in boujou and see if things are still sliding around.

  • you have a mac... i hate you!!! :(

  • Awensome tutorial :)

  • Sometimes when I'm editing my textures, I check my previews and the text is perfect, but then when I'm not in my previews, the text has moved to a different position...

  • @wampanelli It could be your texture projection on your floor is not updating. When you render (cmd or ctrl + r) does it render correctly?

  • when i open it up in c4d the camera angle appears wonky??

  • I was wondering why it always seemed like it was a frame off!!!

  • when i track it's perfect in boujou but fucked in the cinema 4D render,

if i play it, it moves around.

all the fps are 30 on the sequence on the materuial & on the cinema 4D render.

but in boujou everything is perfect.

    please help?

  • @ImVolume1337 Go back into boujou and double check the fps on the seq. Sometimes it defaults to 25fps. If it did, change it to 30, re-export the c4d file and it should work.

  • @VidMuze it is

  • @ImVolume1337 have u fixed the problem?

  • @1337jo1337 no

  • does it work better with boujou 4.1 ? and what about autodesk matchmover ? does it also work ?

  • In my clip i have more yellow dots then blue like you but the other way round so what do i do ?? HELP !

  • @xiGalaxxy You can select any tracker, blue or yellow.

  • @VidMuze Ok Thankyou :D

  • It will not let me select two tracking points for the z-axis help?

  • @XxEnchladasxX You have to hold down cmd or ctrl (for pc) and then click on the two track points that you want.

  • Can you tell a quick story how can i rotoscope things after making it in c4d... if i got to ae and rotoscope the 3d objects goes away too man :p uknow

  • @boobnator Go to my VidMuze.com website and request a tutorial. It'll then be added to the tutorial list.

  • @boobnator Watch RobTazors tutorial

  • Ok im using win7 and i used notepad to open and to fix the problem like on the tutorial and when i type ParentItem 10000001" it says "Cant find bla bla... so pls pls help me :/

  • @TheNevReme ne znam kako da ti pomognem, al reko aj da ti se javim <3 :D

  • Im using notepad but the "Replace" thingy doesnt come up and when i type in "ParentItem 10000001" it says "Cant find blah blah" :'( someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So is it still o.k. to export as a tiff for tracking then?

  • @1pnoe Yep, that's fine. It'll just be bigger in file size.

  • I love how a video response has more views :) nice vid though.

  • @1pnoe Thanks. That video response was added to my video after it already had tons of views, so that's how it has more views.

  • Subbed nice vids =]

  • You grab only yellow points? does it matter which colors points i grab

  • @boobnator Nope, it doesn't matter. Yellow track points are more consistent throughout most of the clip, but either yellow or blue will work.

  • For all the people using note pad use note pad++ and hit replace all! because you need to manually replace more than 400 of these" ParentItem 10000001"

  • @entertement or press ctrl+h

  • Where's the -3.14? o-o

  • @BnVFXProductionsHD Use the search in notepad or textedit... if you set up the 3 coordinates in boujou (x,z and origin), then the -3.14 number is in there.

  • if your on windows can you just use notepad?

  • @TheiiPm Notepad on Windows works just fine.

  • hi thanks for the tutorial, there is one problem:the feature tracking takes around 30 minutes which is ok, but the camera solve, it says takes 12 hours!! and it crashes in the middle of it. is my file too big? it is 45 seconds with a 1080 x 720 resolution. Also, the yellow lines that come out of the feature tracking are very slim and almost invisible...thank you for the tutorials and even reading through this, if you can give me any hint I greatly appreciate it.

  • Can u send me your video? PLease

  • What camera are you useing ? :)

  • @ps3teb1996 The Panasonic AG-HMC150.

  • Hello! Thanks for this great tutorial, I just have one problem though.

When I put in the test object into Boujou, it lays on its side, even thu I did the Scene Geometry just as you, any tips? :)

  • @HeltGal1Productions My guess is that you get up a "y" coordinate instead of a "x" and or "z."

  • y does my camera solve say its gonna take 3 hours plz hellllpp

  • @CinemaIntros4D The waiting time depends on how precise of a track you're doing, how long the clip is that you're tracking and how fast your system is. Are you using default settings for the track settings? How long is your clip?

  • @VidMuze my clip is about 6, or 7 seconds but i noticed something the first time i did this i saved it in .mov the other time i didnt and this time it took 3 times slower

  • Hey,

Nice thx for the really nice tut. I tried making a text, but when I render it, it seems to be jumping a bit up and down. Why is this?? Bad tracking?

    Here is the movie

    youtube.com/watch?v=jV_B8B3J-JA

    Thx for the help

  • @storcaproductions I would guess the track is fine, but your coordinates are off a little. With that type of camera movement, be sure that your point of origin, is where you want to place your text. Also be sure that your x and z trackers are all on the same level plane. If one tracker is slightly higher then the other one, it will cause the "sliding" effect that you're seeing. See if this improves things.

  • @VidMuze Thx for the fast answer. :) Could this be the problem? I was first going to make a small text, so the x and z trackers and point of origin were only on a small place in the video.... But then later on I scaled the text alot bigger then the actual coordinates.

In boujou what is the difference with exporting the camera/move type in using:

    -moving camera static scnene

    -panning camera translating scene

    -static camera moving scene

  • @storcaproductions Yes, that could be the issue. For more accuracy on your coordinates, the further spread the 2 trackers are across your footage, the more accurate the placement of your 3d objects.

Moving camera, static scene: The camera is moving on 2 or more axis (x,y and or z).

Panning camera, translating scene: The camera only rotates on x or y axis, with moving objects in the scene.

Static camera, moving scene: The camera is locked down and not moving, with moving objects in the scene.

  • the annoying thing about pc, is to edit the text is using notepad.... but the parentitem 10000001 cant ALL be replace at once. so you have to manually chance over 100 parentitems manually into 10000002 -.- but other than that, this has been the best tutorial :D

  • @C2xEditor There's a way around that. In notepad, there's an option for "replace." The shortcut is crtl + H. Then you can replace any text for something else. That way you don't have to go through it one by one anymore.

  • @C2xEditor if you press ctrl+h instead of ctrl+r it will give you the option of replace all :)

  • Where's textedit? o-o I'm on Windows XP...

  • @BnVFXProductionsHD On Windows, look for note pad. It's under Programs, Accessories,...

  • @VidMuze Whoa that was a fast response. Thanks! :)

  • The first time I used camera solve it worked quite well... why does it take about 1 hour now for a short sequence of 10 seconds? Is it because of the resolution of the video - the less pixels the less tracking points and the more time it takes? Please help! Thanks a lot! Awesome tutorial.. I never thought it could actually work. I just failed the first time because of the frame rate. I Had 29.97 and Cinema 4d had only 30 or 29 I think. Thank you!

  • when is search for "-3.14" there is no results !! please help me

  • @MrTotyano Hey man same problem, you got to search on: key - 3. ;)

Please thumbs up so people can see :)

  • Comment removed

  • I assume you're using windows. I had the same problem too but make sure when you search for it that the direction is set to Up and not Down. Helped me.. I'm only after figuring that out :) Give me some feedback and let me know if that helps.

  • Can me this in Windows Media Player!!!?! Me no spek en englihs

  • When I solve camera I lose all of the track point from half of the footage and none of them stick. I was better off using the first points from track features. Is there a way i can set scene geometry in cinema 4d instead of boujou?

  • @TheHowToMac No, you have to setup scene geometry in Boujou. When you process the camera solve, this eliminates all of the bad trackers and keeps only the solid trackers, which is what you want. If none of the trackers are "sticking," then your footage may be too shaky for a solid track. Have you tried tracking other footage you've shot to see better results?

  • do we have to select the yellow ones only? cant we use blue?

  • @EI2468Original You can use either.

  • thanks, this is great!!

  • Hey thanks for the tutorial, was really helpful and it's much better than most i've seen. I'm having some trouble tho. When i play my video at the end the objects i place in it are bouncing, like they are constantly moving. I'm pretty sure it's not from the footage not being steady. Would really appreciate some advice. Thanks

  • @yusufasv If it's not correct in Boujou, then your scene geometry is not correct. If it's fine in Boujou and not in Cinema 4D, it may be the frame rate is not the same. E.g. If Boujou is 23.976 exact fps, and Cinema is 23fps or 24 fps (cinema can not do 23.976 fps), then your track won't match up over time.

  • Hey! Really thnx for the Tutorial! Im having this lill problem... On most of the tutorials when they solve the camera you always end up with only 1 camera, but I dont know why when I solve the camara it makes me like 20 solved cameras, and its really messy to work with... Any idea of why this might happen? The videos im using are not really long, (5 seconds), nor shaky or bad quality. Thnx!

  • @Donkevito Anytime multiple solves are created, it usually means boujou could not kind consistant tracks. This doesn't mean your footage is too shaky, but it may be your footage is not busy enough with enough details, edges, different colors, etc, for boujou to detect to track.

Have you tried increasing the sensitivity of the track before you create the camera solves?

  • can i also grab blue points for the scene geometry?

  • @ReymondCA Yes, you can use blue or yellow. Yellow trackers or predictions are the ones visible in the frame you're on (the 'live' predictions). The others are displayed as blue. For example, if an object leaves the image then the predictions will change colour from yellow to blue. The blue predictions are in no way less accurate or of lower quality, they just represent the 3D position of features in the sequence that were not visible in the current frame.

  • @VidMuze okk i dont really understand but it finally works =) Thanks a lot!

  • @ReymondCA Ha, ok... glad it's working for you.

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • @NewAgeDirector Thanks!

  • when i click on camara solve and when it finishes the blue and yellow dots dsnt come out. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • ok its pretty weard when i test it my ladybird is 90º pretty weard PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

  • @designbynoah Be sure you set up your scene geometry properly. This is the first thing that messes up the track if it's not completed properly.

  • forget the opening file hack and get boujou 4.1 i was up all tonight and now i see the power but dont bother with this opening file hack i still ended up with a bad track if dont know where toget it inbox me i will send you the link

  • it's so cool

    真不错

  • @lixiangqing Thanks!

  • in 3:44 you say that i must have correct frame rate. the problem is that my video is at 15fps and there is no choice for 15 fps :| wtF?

  • @SagnolTheGangster007 What you can do is take your footage 15fps) into AE on a 30 fps timeline and export as 30 fps. So one of your 15 frames will end up on 2 frames in the 30p sequence, so tracking should still work fine, using the 30 fps in boujou once you convert your footage.

  • @VidMuze thanks mate for your advice :) motion track works fine now

  • @SagnolTheGangster007 Awesome!

  • Thank you so much, I was getting frustrated at every single tutorial because I'd try everything and it wouldn't work. Great tutorial, keep on doing them ! I posted a video response hope you liked it, you helped me haha

  • LOL lil yellow guy lol that make me chuckle

  • Heii I don't speak good English.... when I make the Camera Solve.... 100% .. just on the end i see the blue points.. and ond the top left i have 4 Camera Solves... not just 1.... and when I go to Cinema 4d it didn't work

  • @AlessioArts I have the exact same issue!

  • Thanks

  • @dersral Sure thing!

  • thanks

  • @eftimov2 no problem!

  • @VidMuze i do have one problem.

if i do motion tracking he keeps dropping frames!

    please help!

  • Thank you so much. This tutorial is fantastic. I have spent the past 3 months cursing out boujou because nothing would work. Thank you so much!

  • @HelselMark Cool! Glad it helped!

  • but why i got only 1 tracking points in front of the camera, the rest are behind and linked to the camera! how to get this solved! I know this doesn't matter but it's pretty when you see the tracking points in front :P

  • if you dont modify the cinema 4d camera exported from boujou, i think you'll get the tracking points behind the camera no?

  • @saradeva11 If you don't modify the c4d file, then yes the trackers will stay parented to the camera.

  • actually your video is a matchmoving tutorial...but still great to watch

  • awesome! do you know how to do a tracking with a particular object in a footage?

Eg: like if i have a footage where a guy is moving his head and i want do only track the movement of the head and then replace it by a 3d object...can you post such kind of tutorial for boujou???

    Thanks again for this
