  • videos for baraza israel art pianos ‎ Chopin Nocturne in C sharp minor

  • I need to learn this peace to play my ps3

  • This vid is popular on Tonga

  • 2:55 ....... I might as well give up now.......

  • So fast. No inspiration at all.

  • Hello everyone. I mentioned before that I appreciate the different versions that I've heard of this song. This particular version is in my opinion one of the better ones on the net and I enjoyed listening to it.

Please check out my version of it here under video responses. I'd really like to hear your opinions. I'm sure Chopin would not be impressed but I only purchased a piano last year and have had 10 lessons over 20 years. (I played on keyboards for years by ear mainly).

    Thank you :)

  • Imagine playing this as if your life depended on it.

  • Dont listen to this people, out of all the versions in youtube this one is the only one on my vavorites. Other people just play it too fast and I dont like it, this is perfect for me.

  • @ratili0 And you're saying that he's not playing it fast?

  • @Jasonpason1 I did not mean that, what I meant is that at 0:25, some people play it very fast and you don't even feel the melody? the same happens at 2:18, I cal literally feel the music where as other piano players play it faster and you don't feel the music.

  • I love your version so so much! Thanks for such wonderful work. (:

  • wonderful

  • awesome man, keep playing with that variable tempo, those kind of breath takes make it deep. Think metronome is for practice and improvement but forget it at performing not every one can do it.

  • can you send me the sheets pls? :)

  • Music is just like Food in a way. The taste is dependent entirely on the chef's opinion. Customers may prefer it being more salty, some want it sour , some want more spice e.t.c. but unfortunately , the chef only has one menu to serve. Yes, I do prefer this being played slower , but I can see that others think its perfect, I have to say , I do not see the point in criticism based on taste for music 'cause it may not be true. Only Chopin himself has the right to do so.

    You "cooked" well. :)

  • How long did it take you to learn and master this?

  • Comment removed

  • I love this pice so much, it is utterly beautiful. It is by far my favorite. I am going to learn this even if it takes me a year, I will master it.

  • And by the way, rubato is a term used for flowing changes of tempo and not suddenly giving single notes another length. This is not rubato, but just crap. Do you have a teacher? Does he or she agree with your playing? I cannot imagine.

  • @xxDressedInBlackxx What a nasty thing to say...

  • The Pianist is a great movie...

  • BRAVO

    but.. slow down a little

  • this is a RUBATO song which means u can play it by feeling..

n I think u perform it really great.. I have to learn a lot from you... :)

  • This video went viral on Mali

  • This is a quite a good performance, but you must remember to keep the left hand in time. You jump around, changing the intervals between the notes for the entire duration of the piece, and this throws off the rhythm in many other parts of the piece.

  • @ThePianistOS I completely disagree. You're basically saying I should have played this to a metronome, strictly keeping the tempo equal throughout the entire piece. To me it just seems like a loss of one dimension, but hey, we all have different opinions and preferences. Thank you for watching still, and thank you for that initial compliment ;)

  • @clyfton - I agree with you. Using a metronome to a beautiful piece like this would make it sound too rigid, and with no rubatos it would be cold. Sorry, but ThePianistOS just doesn't know Chopin...

  • @clyfton I'm not saying you have to play to a metronome, only that you should keep the intervals between the left hand the same. This still leaves room for rubato at your discretion :)

  • @clyfton please stop argueing about the quality of your performance. it is crap and you must know it as far as you are in possession of 2 well-functioning ears.

  • @clyfton it's awesome! it sounds beautiful, it is beautiful just keep posting videos!

    p s happy new year :D

  • @clyfton no legato in this piece at all and very choppy playing. u dont feel even one single note... chopin would doom you for this. it dont sound like chopin either. it could be lacks in your camera but i strongly please you to do this better. watch professionals for difference.

  • @ThePianistOS nah, your right dude it is a might bit off. I listen to this song at least 100 to 200 times a day while a work for the past week, I put it on repeat because I am trying to learn it.

  • @ThePianistOS This is Chopin, not Mozart, man. Chopin is known for his rubatto technique, so it's ok to do that. Although, the piece is supposed to be way slower.

  • for a moment i thought it was a bazooka on the piano

  • @shenkeey Learning theory has nothing to do with reading music. As music is an aural tradition, FIRST AND FOREMOST, one can be an outstanding musician and not read a lick of music. ART TATUM, who could not read music, a waste of talent?

You may want to check with a doctor because you might be mentally retarded.

  • Bravo! I applaud anyone who uploads videos like these! I'm working on this piece as well and I really llike hearing the many styles and versions of this song being played. Some people will hear a person playing on Youtube and comment 'This was played too fast' or 'This was played too slow'. You know what? Play it as you like and be proud of yourself. You're doing what you enjoy!!!

    Thank you for your post.

  • super stuff ! dzieki fryderyk !

  • this piece saved her grandmothers life: bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-15877299

  • PERFECKT.

  • ITS AMAZING

  • OR performs, exactly. As I have explained before, reading music does not make a good pianist. It helps you to understand notes. The rest is down to your technical ability. Autisic people DO have emotion, they just have difficulty with social interaction, social imagination and social communication I don't know why you think they don't have the "correct emotion"

  • very good

  • Seems a bit mechanically played.. But good(:

  • too faaaaast

  • Love!!!

  • hey guys ! i'm a newbie to that piece. could anyone give me an idea to help me how to handle the fast section of opening melody (00:56) appearantly im fast but not fast enought in that section. :(

  • You can play sooo very well the piano! :)

  • nice playing, congrats

  • I would do anything to be able to play this. I refuse to believe any woman could resist it.

  • good but the piano suckz, no good sound

  • where is there a tutorial to this song

  • @jaiwhi Just use pianosheets; when you get to this level of pianoplaying, you have to be able to read sheets imo

  • @shenkeey Not necessarily... I am playing almost 80% of this piece and cannot effectively read sheets. Tell all the signs and notes but reading fluently is not there yet.

  • @Elsenrail29 That's why I said ''imo'', because when you get to this level it's such a pity; it means that you could become a great pianist! But that's what I mean, just be able to read it, not sightreading; just read it is enough :)

  • @shenkeey Being pianist is pretty much a be perfect or be nothing kind of a job imo (I have a concert pianist friend). I am a lawyer and I didn't take piano lessons as kid. Maybe that is a huge advantage for me because 1. I can truely feel Chopin (kids cannot , sorry but true) 2. There were no forcing on me when I started in April 2011. I play piano only because I want it and not because my parents want to show off..:D I learned from synthesia by the way. Everyone should download it.!!!!!:)

  • @Elsenrail29 Yep, that's very very true. And well, for me it worked out that I started early; because now I just feel the piano as a...part of me if you can understand that (i know it sounds cheesey, but forgive me). I asked for pianolessons myself though :) I was five and my sister already had such lessons, so yeah.

And I can read sheet music perfectly, but I agree 100% that synthesia is just awesome; I use it too myself :)

  • @shenkeey u dont have to, good thing its an opinion cause ur wrong :P lol

  • @tsotsc I'm not wrong though...It's just a waste of time to get to this level and not be able to even read sheet music and therefore be a musician :')

  • @shenkeey if someone is able to play piano and not able to read sheet music, that should be applauded. So just who are you to deem it a waste of time?

  • @LoftyProduction I'm just saying that it's so unfortunate for that person; because that person will never take that skill and put it to use. And why should it be applauded, it's hard to learn it; its like a new language.

  • @shenkeey you've missed the point entirely ...*walks out the door*

  • @LoftyProduction Not at all, I know exactly what you ment; but I thought further than that

  • @shenkeey no you didn't, your ignorance did.

  • @LoftyProduction Jesus christ, it''s a fact that you''re a better musician when you know your theorie; and reading sheets it''s basically the first step..

  • @shenkeey ! it's a fact is it?! ha!

  • @LoftyProduction It is a fact actually; im talking about musicians, not pianists. Every pianocomposer will tell you the same thing

  • @shenkeey, ha! of course.

  • @LoftyProduction Lol, I hate people that don't make valuable argumentpoints; but just give an answer sarcasticly: therefore, i hate you. You KNOW it's a fact

  • @shenkeey no, you're what is known as a troll, and your argument has no facts whatsoever.

  • @LoftyProduction Not at all; Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Mozart, Liszt: all were masters in theory (beethoven couldnt even hear, so its pretty obvious where he got his music from).

And if i really am a troll: then its the first time a troll got BOTH of the top rated comments.

  • @shenkeey the top rated comment being 9 thumbs? Yeah, very impressive. Beethoven was not born deaf you uneducated muppet. He began to lose his hearing during his 20s, it was progressive. Furthermore, explain how ray charles, who lost his sight at 5, became as good as he did. Stevie wonder, blind at birth, fantastic pianist. Derek Paravicini blind and austic, brilliant pianist ALL unable to read sheet music.. THAT is how you back up an argument. Try it sometime *Licks finger tsssssssssssss"

  • @LoftyProduction Note how you got 0 thumbs up.

My point was being a great MUSICIAN, you're writing about great pianists. I already explained that before. Beethoven was still a great musician when he was deaf etc, because of his theory. Also Derek Paravicini; great pianist, great in hearing; not great in composing his own music or finding feeling in songs (watch his documentary). Read before you reply

  • @shenkeey musician refers be being able to PLAY an instrument. Not sight read, and you still think you have a right to tell people "they have no feeling" or "it's a waste of time" I hope you realize you're an elitest, and coming off as a complete douche.

  • @LoftyProduction A musician MAKES MUSIC, not plays the instrument in special (<)

    mu·si·cian (my-zshn)

    n.

One who composes, conducts or performs music.

With theory comes reading sheet music, FACT. No reading = no core for theory and vice versa. And I'm saying Derek doesn't have the correct emotion, because he just doesn't: watch documentaries of him, it's because of his autism...

Never said it was a waste of time, I said it was a waste of talent; totally different

  • At times i felt the piece rishing. Fingering disconnected on the fina measures 61-62. The following fingering woul connect the final notes much better: 2, 5,1,2,5,1. Please note on measure 42 is an adagio and the bass G note is to held only for one beat. You held that G note for the whle measure. Dynamics is very imoirtant in this piece.

  • i wanna play this...how long did it take u to practice playing it?

  • @futureauthor14 i learnt this piece when i was grade 6, it took me a few days to learn all the notes and stuff, a week to play it properly, and i mastered it in two months to play for a recital.

technique is the hardest thing to accomplish in this nocturne, the mazurka bit in the middle is difficult in my opinion :/ but good luck learning it :D

  • just enjoy guys! if you dont like it! there are many different versions on youtube! :D awesome job man!

  • too fast, but gj

  • you are very good on technique, but you have to give emotions. When you play Chopin's music, feeling is very important. The only thing you need to improve is to feel this music.

  • each time I hear you play this, I feel like rushing to toilet. Very robotic playing, not as good as youtube.com/watch?v=xrmT_63t-_k

  • PROS: Supreme finger technique, especially by the long runs. Crystal clear even arpeggios. Overall great mastery of hand combination. Virtuosic skills!

CONS: Your fingers are very tense you can relax a little bit. You are in a constant hurry and you must heed to the signs like four notes being dolce (soft). You are too heavy on your notes and you can spice up your trills: Try accelarated trills.

  • listen to Arthur rubinsteon, and you will see how irs meant to be played, with passion and feeling. but well done

  • damn. your good, but I felt nothing. You gotta feel it .

  • @OfficialJovi

in the last minuit I felt something... in the end he played it well I find :)

  • I know you probably mastered this, but in this, you paused after every four notes. Try to avoid that.

    However, it was pretty nice.

  • Beautiful

  • best music ever !!

  • awesome song!

  • Man you're amazing... I'm learning that song, everyday i watch this video as an inspiration. :) well played.

  • too bad its only 240p

  • best play i ever heard

  • hey. i taught myself theory, and i notice that this is in c sharp minor, but then why is D played? im just a little confused is all.

  • @keyblader118 All notes can be played in all keys. In the key of C-sharp minor, D is an accidental and will have a natural symbol before it.

  • You played very well but your piano is out of tune

  • I felt fantastique!

  • You've got the notes down pretty well, but feel the music instead of rushing it.

  • sick camrea angle LOL

  • You play really well. I've played this piece for a long time and it's one of my favorites of all time. If you don't mind me giving a little advice, this is too fast and too loud, man; this is not a piece to show your speed. This piece is about enjoying every note; it's about an emotion, a sadness written with a beauty that only the great Chopin could have expressed. Slow down and enjoy each note; listen to what each note says to you. Enjoy the delicateness of this melody.

  • you dont have tecnique in your fingers, try some digitacion.

  • WHO COULD DiSLIKE THIS??

  • too fast

  • sounds prettier slower because your ears soak in it's beautiful sound :)

  • Que dedilhado estranho foi esse?

  • what do you mean needs more practice? It sounds great. I've been told, never begin a presentation with an apology; it just downgrades what people think of it.

  • this is great..

  • pianist!

  • goodness thats fast! if you played it closer to the proper speed you wouldn't have so many timing mistakes :) but im sure you already knew that since you play pretty well

  • Utterly and truly beautiful

  • <3333 i needed this!!!

  • amazing :)

  • this was played flawlessly. I'm amazed and I can't wait to start this composition myself!

  • Can I learn to play like that?

  • algun consejo para hacer el trino igual de rapido con cualquier par de dedos????

  • How many years have you been playing?

  • Comment removed

  • That was amazing. I'm trying to learn it and I'm slowly getting it.. but you have got it just right. At least...the emotions are still felt.

  • me encanta esta cancion! apenas voi en los primeros 48 segundos, es realmente dificil T_T

  • I love Chopin

  • @crisdg89 me too

  • i like it slower, but well played =)

  • Sounds good to me.

  • loved you tempo.

  • honestly you play fast not in time wiw

  • Many wrong notes...

  • @clyfton

this is not really my type of music, but it sounds really good.

You played it very well! maybe im gonna learn this song too, but first im gonna learn ''requiem for a dream''. i don't know if you know that song, but if you want could you make a vid with you playing the song and place it on youtube :)

and again, very well played ;)

  • i cant even play my chords properly yet...

  • Awesome!

  • do u use the damper pedal?

  • to fast

  • Question,

what fingers do you use at the fastest part of the song with your right hand?

    1, 2, 3 and 4?

  • Should piano pieces like these be easily sight read or should they be thoroughly practised? I am a piano student at the royal academy of music, you see. I am struggling with my sight reading because I find it hard to sight read advanced classical pieces. I can sight-read syncopated vocal accompaniments (and classical accompaniments), hymns, bach chorales etc but i tend to get round classical pieces by thoroughly practising them. Is this the way I am supposed to be playing?

  • @liamleesvirtuoso

Before you actually play the piece, you should study the chord patterns so you can predict where to move and what to play before physically playing it. It's not too hard to sightread but that's only if you're an advanced visual learner. Practice does make perfect though ^_^

  • I am 29 and have been playing piano since March 2011 and I cannot read notes however I can play this piece upto measure 19 (that is where piece B starts) I did not start to learn the B section however and to me it looks playable. The only thing I am struggling is play the left hand along with the long arpegios. An I can play the treble clef by hear. I learned the piece from synthesia. Is it normal to begin piano with this piece? I know I do not have a special talent?? Please comment!

  • @Elsenrail29 I don't know how normal it is to start with this piece, but it was the second piece I started working on when I started playing half a year ago. Your learning methods sound a lot like mine except I avoid using synthesia(which I assume is a computer program) and try to read the notes to get better at it. I was practising about as much as you said you do in the other comments and it took me about 6 months till I played it once the way I was satisfied. The key is to stay motivated. GL

  • beautiful...just and great finger techniques...how do practice to play with such ease and comfort in the fingers, worse part...playing both hand...need some advice.please help!!!

  • @khomo1010

    Practice makes perfect.

  • @khomo1010 You have to practice however you have also to practice the right way. At the beginning it also looked impossible to me to play both hands. HOWEVER I practice every day just 20-25 minutes. And I progressed slowly measure by measure. I can play the piece until 19th measure. My method is to play very slowly until my hands find a ''roadmap''. Then play faster. After a while you will wonder how you can play with ease.

  • @khomo1010 btw: This is a 29 years old guy speaking who started to learn piano by sythesia 3 months ago and started this piece 1,5 months ago. You cannot play it overnight however you CAN make progress overnight. Be patient. we are not concert pianist we do it only as a hobby. And relax your fingers otherwise they will be sweaty and will slip. Play sleep play sleep and your fingers get accustomed to it. And Practice hand separate first. After you play perfectly separate try together. GL

  • needs more practice.. LOL!

  • Great fingers, great technique... Though, sometimes music is not all about that. Sorry, but you were killing it, I felt nothing while listening (which should never happen with chopin!).. Don't just play it to get it over with successfully, it has to be slower sometimes.. Dynamics! Just a tip, not an insult.

  • @goolash12 i actually loved how he played it.

  • @goolash12 i´m agree, something is missing: romanticism

  • @goolash12

all the amateur experts maybe Chopin wanted it played THIS way, not the way others play it

did you ever hear Chopin himself play this, I think not

  • nice trills, i got lost in their awesomeness.

  • @piano man Dan. Post YOUR version with Real emotion. Remember not too ( not to, you fucking illiterate jackass) heavy handed! that was a beautiful rendition. Pianomandan is a filthy sweaty testicle in July. Post your version that is better.

  • @chadwells77 dude wtf man chill out before i stick a piano up butt. i was giving him advice u little child.

  • god bless your hands XD

  • How long it got to lern this composition?

  • In 00:34, the key in the left hand must be F#, not Eb. I see that many people play this way. It's absolutely wrong.

  • @rcreallycool YES YES YES YES correct! It may be not noticable to ones who hear this piece for the first time. However I am learning it and it must be an F#. I wanted to write this a while ago but I was to lazy to create an account.:P And while it is great rendition it lacks any rubato

  • I am always amazed when someone can play this by ear. I am practicing this with the complete score and find it difficult. Thanks for posting this piece!

  • how can someone..ANYONE..can NOT like this music??

    i adore it!!

  • Ah, i love that phrygian run near 3:00

  • @clyfton Could u tell me what are u playing at please?

  • super .... thanks

  • This is such an amazing performance! Bravo!

  • Beautiful. Happened to stumble upon this vid while researching another c sharp entitled piece, and this brought me memories of my nocturne early youth days :)

  • At 32 seconds try play F# instead of D#

  • Comment removed

  • Like in every 15 seconds you played too fast.

  • ouuu shit,really great :D

  • it's very nice. thank you.

  • dude, this jus totally made me change my mind, cuz my old piano teacher retired and i was going to do violin lessons instead, but now im seriously reconsidering cuz omg ur sooo gud and i wud sooo want ta play like u someday

  • wow, i wanna get married with a pianist! :D

  • Your amazing. I think its pretty hard to show emotion and play this perfectly whilst being recorded.

  • The only thing id say is you need to float more on the notes if that makes anymore sense. The peice is supposed to be magical and its a bit plodding with you at the minute.

  • FABULOUS

  • just more emocions

  • Muy buena ejecución, pero creo que falta sentimiento

  • Rate if you only know this song because of Karate Kid! :)
